  1. If you ignore his single penalty conversion, he's managed two goals and one assist this season in the PL. As a comparison, KDH is 2 and 2. What's really needed tonight is a someone who doesn't give the opposition midfielders a boner.
  2. I used to love the guy, but really what is the point playing him currently? What aspect of his game would you give him more than 5 out of 10 for, or at least wouldn't leave me not-even-half jokingly talking about using Souttar instead? On that note... someone got laughed down recently for suggesting it outright, but I've got away with just asking a not really tongue in cheek question before (about Fofana, to no response), which I'm going to do again... what do we think would happen (purely in a DM sense, forget what it does to the defence) if we replaced Ndidi with Soyuncu? And before you laugh, we've tried it the other way round (albeit under duress), and I like to I think it was fairly obvious that moving a midfielder with only a vague sense of where his legs end and minimal practice playing offside into a CB berth would only be something we'd do if forced. Is there something 'special' about the DM role that would preclude an otherwise suitable CB stepping up?
  3. Praet and Mendy together, OK. But explain how Mendy hasn't had a sniff recently given just how shit our midfield has been under Smith. He's been at worst solid when he's played, and at times excellent. Having one player in that midfield ticking over and doing his bit without embarrassing himself every 15 minutes would be a good basis to work from.
  4. "The guy defending in today's 5-3 defeat to Fulham", if anyone's struggling with this
  5. Oh aye, it's completely different when we don't have Soumare in the team.
  6. This is not 'beating a man', it's trying and failing to beat a man, and it was noticeable in the Leeds game he'd pretty much stopped bothering to do even that. That's pretty terminal for a supposedly tricky winger. I think he's having the same thoughts about his ability to hack it in the Prem as most of us. I can't see his limiting himself to a Praet-lite diet of over-deliberate give and sort of goes is going to help much. Feels like he needs a game where he pulls off a couple of fancy Dan moves and then kicks on from there, but he's now too frit to try. We certainly don't have the luxury of wasting an on field position finding out.
  7. Eh? Looked onside before the lines were even drawn
  8. Wait, what?
  9. He did absolutely **** all. Wouldn't play him again unless we're safe. There might be a player in there but we don't have time to find out.
  10. The complete disinterest in beating a man and the over deliberate simple-as-possible passing makes me think his confidence is indeed shot, but tonight isn't about Tete gaining confidence. Offski.
  11. Unless this is some weird rhetorical device you're going to slap at the start of every 'listen to me son' post, this appears to be an attempt to aportion blame for a shite season to a player who's only featured in half the games.
  12. An extra 4 points if you can spell Ralph's surname (tbh I haven't checked to see if the absolutely correct version with an umlaut is 20s)
  13. Be happy this dogshit it behind a paywall... https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/pep-guardiola-wouldve-struggled-to-do-a-better-job-than-brendan-rodgers-3mbf6fzk5 A sample (something tells me Martin didn't watch either the Palace or Brentford games. Or indeed, any of them) Rodgers was a good manager for Leicester, and the chairman acknowledged this, even at the end. So why not let Rodgers continue being just that? A good manager, but going through a difficult time. A good manager, but in need of better support. Crystal Palace scored with a minute remaining on Saturday. Had Jean-Philippe Mateta’s goal not gone in — and he was onside by a whisker — Leicester would have been outside the bottom three and would have drawn two consecutive away games, with home matches against Aston Villa and Bournemouth up next. Leicester put four past Villa the previous time the teams met, only two months ago, and would fancy their chances against Bournemouth.
  14. One ball humped long by Iversen, Palace panicked and Daka nearly got on the end of it. More of it. I'm sure Brendan would regard it as 'ugly' but **** me it couldnt be as bad as this dogshite.
  15. Is there another team in this division less well equipped to play out from the back, never mind under pressure?
  16. Witzelsucht incoming
  17. It's hardly 'unfair' on Fulham if a Fulham player gets an extended ban for doing something players have been known to get extended bans for.
  18. I'm sure similar will have been posted already but any****ingway https://footballerswith.com/products/brendan-rodgers-with-tits
  19. My stream is 4 minutes behind 😂 And that wasn't a through ball
  20. Not many sights in football more depressing than a KDH through ball.
  21. AND takes precedence over OR, but you're right - he could have added more ****ing brackets
  22. Sir Finnegan sir, I was joshing/it is a very serious matter and you should have used UNIONs
  23. GETDATE() suggests the latter. CASTing that to a date seems very, er, wonky though, as does the minor ineffeciency of eschewing of NOT IN for our out of favour CBs, and the potentially confusing (from a (this, at least) human readability standpoint) lack of bracketing of the and/ors for the non-Ward clauses. Unless I've missed a scandal/injury or two it does seem to come with the intriguing possibility of playing three goalies somewhere on the pitch.
