  1. If you want the token slow runner, she’s just requested to join 🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️ Currently training for my first ever ultra (100k) plus Ride 100 (100 mile cycle) and Swim Serpentine (2 mile swim) so speed has gone out of the window 😂 The last 2 events on that list are all towards the London Classics medal so a really just a tick box exercise.
  2. Following the death of of my 9 year old niece at the end of October, my only hope for 2020 is that her parents, grandparents and all of the family can find a way to let the sunshine back into our lives. On a more personal level, I intend to push my body as far as I can from a running/fitness perspective with the ultimate challenge being a 100K race straight through, no overnight camping just a ‘woman up’ at the aid stations. I landed my dream job in August this year and I hope to continue to gain further qualifications that should open even more doors for me.
  3. Leicester Half Marathon- do they have pacers?
  4. I’m probably not the best person to half as I’ve been known to wing a half on no training 🙄 Adrenaline plays a major part in those last few miles and fuelling your run will help massively. I never fuel a half however I’m on a PB mission at Leicester and I know where I crash so my other half has been given strict instructions of where to be so I don’t have to carry anything with me. With regards to your foot pain, have you checked out different lacing techniques? It could also be related to your calf muscle so make sure you stretch well after any run even if only 5K.
  5. Atherstone (Badgers 10k) tomorrow followed by Bedford Twilight (10k) and Cosford Spitfire (10K) next weekend and the John Fraser (JF10). I’ve deferred my Leicester Half as I’ve been in a bit of a slump so hoping a few fun runs will bring the love back.
  6. Another 50p collector here 🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️
  7. https://www.comptoirlibanais.com/restaurants/london-bridge I went here back in March and the food was absolutely spot on and is really good value for money. It’s about a 20 minute tube journey from Covent Garden. https://londoncocktailclub.co.uk/old-street/ Shoreditch is one of my most favourite parts of London and this is well worth a visit! I like Green Park for a wander around and of course it’s ideally placed for the whole touristy bit of Buckingham Palace, V&A museum etc
  8. I’m having to consider getting her one of these because I honestly don’t know what goes through her mind sometimes. In her defence, she did spend the first 6 months of her life tied up at a travellers camp. It never occurred to us when we picked her up that she’d never been in a house let alone upstairs and we had to literally pick her up and carry her into the house for the first 2 weeks.
  9. My Romanian Rescue. She’s a Romanian Shepherd cross and is as mad as a box of frogs. Came to us at 6 months old and is now 3. Took a massive risk as we have 2 children who were 3 and 8 at the time but definitely the best thing we’ve done. We’ve had to learn to live with a few of her quirks however I wouldn’t change her for the world.
  10. I’m in for this one!
  11. After a shocking display at Rothley 10k, I bailed on Sunday’s Prestwold 10k ? Running the Humber Bridge Half this Sunday and was going to try and stick with the 2hr paced but it’s going to be hot hot hot so just getting round is too of the list!
  12. Amsterdam half in October? I’ve just sold my place for this as chose to do the Leicester marathon instead..... What is Edinburgh like to run?
  13. That’s some going! Well done!! Those last 3-4 miles were shocking - head wind and too narrow to be able to overtake. Finished in 2:07:09 - just outside of my PB. Not bad for a 40 year old who couldn’t get below 3 hours this time last year!
  14. I’ll either be in my Hinckley Allsorts vest or my pink unicorn one with Badass written on the back.... Hope Sunday goes to plan for you. I’m not too sure how my run will go as this will be the 3rd weekend of 13 miles for my poor legs. Swithland 6 will be a welcome break next weekend!
  15. I’ve just joined Hinckley RC. I’ve gone from being a shit runner to a slightly better than average runner over these last 18 months so hoping a club will push me on a bit. I love a hill so I think that’s why I enjoyed yesterday so much! My first big official race was the London Marathon last year....... I entered the ballot for a laugh despite not being able to run a non stop 5k and got in. Ran it badly but it changed my life massively. One of my good friends runs for Birstall.
  16. I loved West End 8 yesterday! Missed my silver standard time by a couple of minutes but found it much easier than expected! What’s the Swithland 6 like? I’m signed up to that, Rothley 10K, Lutterworth 5 and the Watermead challenge as well. Liverpool RnR Half this weekend and then the joys of marathon training starts again.......
  17. Have you done Bosworth before? I was a good 5 minutes slower on that course yesterday compared to other halfs. Not sure if I’ll go back for a second attempt....
  18. Ace work ?? Today was my 8th official half marathon in 13 months and was by far the most challenging thanks to the weather and the wonderful ‘undulating’ Leicestershire countryside! Never say never to a full. I’ve done two (one badly) in the past year and taking on the Leicester marathon in October making 2 in 6 months! 18 months ago I was 4 stone over weight and couldn’t run a non stop 5k but now run an average of 20 miles a week for fun.
  19. Rubbish. Had to have my old Labrador put down yesterday and today the house just seems so empty. He was a complete fool and verging on the worlds worst dog but he was my mate. Going to really miss my old mate.
