  1. I can't possibly comprehend your pain and do not have adequate words, none I suspect will help lessen the pain, anyway. I hope that you and your family have had a peaceful day and have managed in your own way to celebrate and remember both your son and daughter. If sharing a post on here helps in any way, there's most certainly a point to it. As ever, you have the thoughts and support of all here.
  2. No. Different investigation into someone else, who is alive. Said person attended a police interview in June so, definitely not dead.
  3. He went because we gave him no choice. I'm sure he saw it as a good opportunity to push on or test himself but at the end of the day, he was forced to go. Same as Barnes.
  4. I'd rather just have a very large box of maltesers. The selection tub always seems a good idea but there's just too many included that I don't like. And then you've half a tub of Bounty in the cupboard for months
  5. I thought Robins was doing a grand job, a bit disappointing recently as, they'd moved out of the relegation places but I had hope he'd remedy that
  6. Forest Gump 1994 USA 2024 To further quote Forest "that's all I've got to say about that".
  7. Talking to some Trump supporters on holiday last month and raised this point. In their view, it was 'a couple of business related misdemeanours' and therefore 'not relevant'. Most of them genuinely sounded like they had been brainwashed by a cult. So dismissive of anything negative, or in fact true. All the things he's said which have been proven to be lies, they just deemed irrelevant.
  8. I know we are rehashing old ground and what's done is done. But, that relegation is still so frustrating. Previously, we went down because the team just didn't have enough, but that squad did. It was so avoidable. The sliding doors moment was September 2022. The postponement of the Villa game due to the Queen's death. We were both awful and in terrible league positions. Villa sacked Gerrard and the transformation is clear. We did nothing until it was far too late and went down.
  9. The panels and battery were installed yesterday. So far today we've generated 1.7kWh, not bad as it's very grey and cloudy. The battery filled up at 7p overnight, now discharging and currently at 75%, so hopefully lasts until 23:30 before it refills. Our monthly electric bill starts on 5th of each month so, by 5th Dec I should have a good idea on savings (and given that I was charged £80 for October, when I was only at home for 5 days, it better be good). I'm now adding a saving for the 'fire safety equipment'. They put a £20 smoke alarm in the garage, said we didn't need the linked kit for the house. So, I'm deducting that from the bill. It was a £50 kit at best, the cheeky f@ckers!
  10. Three decisions did that, IMO. 1. Allowing Kasper to leave. 2. Brendan thinking Ward was a PL goalkeeper. 3. Not sacking Brendan soon enough
  11. It looked like he slightly touched him but your man went down like he'd been shot! Not much of a VAR check with it being at OT.
  12. How's that going? I've just changed ours to do this today. Ours has been on for a good few hours every day, the past few days. The wifi router blew up in the September storm, which happened to be the day we went on holiday. So, annoyingly I was unable to switch the heating on with the app before our return this week. Just back to a defect temperature so, trying the constant settingrather then off/on.
  13. As soon as you use trains abroad, it emphasises how poor and expensive our trains are. I went from Sydney to Wollongong, takes 95 minutes. So, about the same as Leicester to London. It cost £3.70. Smart double decker train, clean and on time.
  14. Couldn't agree more. NZ was beautiful. Sydney and the south East coast were also great. I got back last night...It was long trip home though!!! My round the world trip is complete. LHR - San Francisco - Hawaii - French Polynesia - New Zealand - Australia - UAE - LHR. It's been an epic trip.
  15. This was my morning arrival. Not quite the reception Charles and Camilla received but fairly impressive! Had dinner with a view of the bridge, with fireworks. Quite a special day.
  16. I was in Rotorua on Saturday. Tour guide response when I said I was from Leicester..'Ooo Jamie Vardy' The one in Napier said 'Melton Mowbray pork pies'
  17. You'd be right there. Just part of the trip though, think I'm on day 25. Started in San Francisco and have sailed down. 6 days in NZ and then off to Australia.
  18. Arrived in New Zealand, day 1 of 6. It's beautiful.
  19. People with unbelievably inappropriate selfishness and entitlement. We can all be selfish and entitled, I'm sure. Today my ship had to make a 16 hour return trip to Hawaii for a double medivac. We couldn't go to port, they had to send the US Coast Guard helicopter due to the seriously ill passengers needing hospital asap. So, yes, we were evacuated from our cabins in the early hours, lots of the ship was closed for a few hours and staff redeployed to emergency jobs (bar staff double as firefighters etc). Some passengers have whinged about the inconvenience. Really?! Your incabin breakfast being cancelled is irrelevant love No thought for the poor people now in hospital in Hawaii. Or their spouse/family, who are still on the ship and can't leave until the next port, in 5 days. And with a minimum $25k helicopter medivac bill! It was the first time I've seen helicopter medivac, it's quite a remarkable thing to see. And we've had two this morning. It did look a bit precarious and I'll hope to give that a miss.
  20. Absolutely. I'm on an American ship. Yesterday I ordered some cheese and bacon loaded fries. Expecting fries with lovely melting cheese and bacon. It had an awful orange sauce instead of cheese. WTF!!!
  21. We went to Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam in March 2020 and the weather was lovely. All were really great places to visit. Just had 2 days in San Francisco, that was nice. Hawaii next before New Zealand and Aus.
  22. Hotel rooms only having ambient lighting. Absolutely no use when you're trying to pack, unpack or get ready whilst it's dark.
  23. I saw my first driverless car today, it was quite odd being next to a completely empty, moving vehicle.
  24. Began my full circumnavigation of the world today, stage one, Heathrow to Dublin, our pilot was called Captain Scarlet. This amused me more than it probably should have.
  25. The travel agent has, at last, confirmed our Dubai to Paris cruise via the Suez Canal is cancelled. Although, this has apparently come as a surprise to a few of my fellow passengers. I'm not sure if they've been living under a rock or didn't know the route but, how the chuff are they surprised we're not sailing in the Middle East!
