  1. In my mid-60s. I’ve lost strength and flexibility, but feel good and can still walk up and down hills on hiking trips. My only exercise is plenty of walking. I bought a standing desk several years ago, and live within a mile of the bank, grocery, drug and Target stores -- never have to drive for routine errands. Honestly I’m blessed and if I just had the sense to lose 10 pounds and do minor weight training I’d feel that much better. (But it’s Xmas and I seem to be indulging myself to the max) The crazy bit is, my doc thinks I’m sailing along. I guess the majority of Americans my age are completely unfit, many developing serious issues. Just reading this thread, it’s so obvious how important activity is at all ages, but especially as you get older. Use it or lose it -- and past 60, once lost, it’s gone.
  2. If it floats your boat, all power to you. But to most of us, it's just games between the same teams, on different paint. Bring over a couple of top European teams to play in the semifinals and finals, and it might be a little bit interesting.
  3. Real Madrid sold off 20% of the next 25 years of Bernabéu revenues for €360 million. (To Sixth Street, who also own 25% of Barca's broadcasting income for a similar stretch.) What's interesting is that the club INCLUDE the money going to Sixth Street in their income for compliance with Financial Sustainability Regulations. Even though they never see a penny. And the courts have seen fit to allow it.
  4. Playoff bracket set. Another tough draw for the Buckeyes -- but well earned by losing to Indiana. Any predictions?
  5. We were dominant. Completely untroubled. And then. What evil force has transplanted Danny Ward’s brain into Stolarczyk?
  6. you had to say that didn't you ...
  7. 3! Can I breathe now?
  8. That was a hell of a brainwave for a braindead player
  9. Just expressing my surprise at this ongoing BDCR Reclamation Tour.
  10. Must be nice following a club that invests. During each winter, the only element of suspense for the Guardians is what star player they trade for prospects. This year ... will they offload Steven Kwan?
  11. This is put in a way I can understand. Anybody can (and most will) judge what they see on the pitch. I always had a bone to pick with those who, from the day Maddison showed up with a stupid ₤1,000 plastic backpack, nothing he did on the pitch made a rat's ass worth of difference.
  12. Club is finally discovering an identity
  13. I'm sorry to inform you, but UC Santa Cruz has never fielded an American football team. So your choice of a worthy substitute is most righteous. THE Ohio State Buckeyes welcome your temporary support ... and why not send a check, since that's where the whole thing is going.
  14. Your observations are valid. These changes were unthinkable just a few years ago, and now threaten to overwhelm America's greatest sport. But CFB is merely symptomatic of a society where accumulating and deploying wealth is the only thing that matters, and monetary gain has become the criterion for what used to be judgments of the public good. As social cohesion exits the field, the whims of the few can and do shape everything -- even which colleges can field the best football teams. I think there is still so much tradition and fanbase attachment to the top 50 or so college teams, it will be hard to kill ... so CFB may emerge only moderately ****ed up. If it becomes just another arena for billionaires to indulge their whims, well, that's what the NFL has been for a few decades. Those of us hardcore CFB fans who cherish it as the anti-NFL may drift away. but for now, GO BUCKEYES !!! /s/ A. Junkie
  15. Mahomes putting his body on the line over and over to scramble for first downs ... while younger players dropped easy passes or shirked the big hits ... he looked disgusted by the end of the game. This doesn't have the look and feel of recent Chiefs teams. They need intact chemistry to get back from a 6-7 record.
  16. So many Maddison haters. Mahrez had his too. Something about the cut of their jibs. They definitely weren''t made to get physical in the box. Ridiculous clothing taste and budget ... or maybe didn't consider LCFC the ultimate destination ... guilty on those all-important counts. If you didn't accept that you were watching two of the most extravagantly skilled and entertaining players ever seen in our colors, well, I hope you prefer what you're seeing today.
  17. Look, I know we’ve all been forced into a habit of moaning. But that was a good away win and a big improvement.
  18. There is a worse central defense in football than ours?!
  19. Buckeyes head north to their arch-rivals and dominate Equilibrium is restored to the universe (or at least the western hemisphere). And the Buckeyes mascot pulls off the best troll job of the season
  20. “In 20 years, we’ve grown into the world's biggest employment website …” " … and had only ONE job posting receive not a single response"
  21. Just when you think the roller coaster has finally docked at the bottom
  22. Despite our 10% possession and several turnovers inside our box just a fluke really
