Both Vardy and Ndidi know they aren't getting younger, and adapt their playing accordingly. I hope Vardy is here next year. -

We are getting better as the game progresses. Hopefully, this continues... Vardy! -

In fairness, I've never heard of them, so it'll make a good trivia question. -

I am from the Dallas area, so I lifelong Cowboys fan. We gave been fairly hated around the US for 80 or so years. Our biggest rivals are DC, New York, and Philly. We play them twice a year. My biggest never-understand-it about English football isn't who our rivals are, but how we see the rivalry. In Leicester, we see Forest, Coventry, and Derby - but fans are happiest when we don't play them! They laugh when they get the drop, and moan if they get promoted. Ideally, you meet your "rival" once every 2-3 years in a Cup, beating their weakened nearly semi-pro side! I know the ugly history of violence plays a role, and hopefully dying out - but I actually want all our rivals in the Premier League (with us, of course) so we can play them regularly. I know slightly off topic, but thus endeth the rant. -
I never really think they are trying to lose - I mean, except for Rodgers, who wanted his payday - I just think if they had wanted to lose, they would have done the same thing ... I just think it is awful management. I love it when they prove me wrong!

My general theory on managers is, if during the game I am thinking "Is he trying to lose/not win?" and we then do that, I want the person out. Cooper had been filling that role, and I wanted him out. If I ask myself that question, and we win, then the guy is he genius, and I am just a know-nothing fan. I said elsewhere that if Cooper wins three in a row, I will leave the "Cooper Out" mob. I admit, it will take a little more to chain myself to the "Cooper In" brigade.

I was in Nottingham for 2 1/2 months at the end of the 2022-2023 season last year - If it makes you feel better, I didn't think about you guys once (I mean, I was in a coma, but I still realized we were going down.) -

Southampton vs Leicester (A) - October 19th
MarriedaLeicesterGirl replied to 420Hashish's topic in Leicester City Forum
I remember watching the 0-9 at the pub with my wife! It was amazing! We came home, my mother-in-law (who was watching the boys) greeted us, and my dog wagged his tail, and barked hello! The dog died in his sleep that night, and it is now the only thing I can remember about that game. It was a great game, but the dog was a great dog...- 407 replies

I do admit, if he won the next three, I would be more positive though. But the reality is ... well, what you just wrote. -
I know America is America, and England is England - but in reality, a large stadium can really bring in the cash if done correctly. U.S. stadiums basically are money factories for hours before and after a game. Of course, I know for different reasons, stadiums here don't want people hanging around that long, but the King Power isn't helped by horrible food and the fact that buying shirts/other products isn't set for impulse buying.

International break - why?
MarriedaLeicesterGirl replied to FoxFossil's topic in Leicester City Forum
It used to be the best players in the league games earned a right to represent their country. Southgate especially set a "national team" that didn't change. Players who were sitting on the bench every week for their club were still starting for England. The Nations League reinforces this, because the team knows each other better and there is a "trophy" at stake. But a friendly? You can play someone doing well that season, because it is only a friendly. I just don't think people get excited watching players representing their country who aren't the best players in their own club teams. -
Okay, this is the weirdest thing I recently discovered, which strangely I think I should have known... Leicester Royal Infirmary is where a Catholic beatified saint died in 1964. He was from Nigeria, and pretty much more famous there. But the Royal was where I was sent first after my near fatal stroke last year - I have an appointment there in a few weeks, and was just checking to see if I could find out where the office was when I saw the article. I just thought it was a very interesting tidbit (I am a Catholic immigrant myself - of course, from Texas not Africa - so it really peaked my interest. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/czxl9xk877ko#:~:text=He died in the Leicester, but a very holy life.

International break - why?
MarriedaLeicesterGirl replied to FoxFossil's topic in Leicester City Forum
They should really just not have international "breaks" in the season, since the major competitions take place in the summer in any event. It is what de facto happens when the African internationals take place - clubs have to play without their best African nationals for a month. Not only would this make the "big clubs" weaker for part of the season, it means more of the players - who are often some of the best paid in the country - would get an opportunity to play, instead of spending their best years sitting on a bench and counting their money. Or even, if they whine, let the "Other 14" play during these weird international breaks, which means they Big 6 would have to squeeze a little bit - again, giving some of their other players a chance to play in that way... -
Jamie Vardy Appreciation

I think her "earnings" are the reason they are in such trouble! -
Literally won an award for not failing as expected!

Yes. I love him. I am heterosexual, but admit, I am a little gay for @HighPeakFox. I have no problem admitting this (especially after ordering 3 margaritas - on the 2-for-1 deal.)

Yawn. Off the post...then off the post. Ad nauseam... it was horrible.

Just to say, flipping down the list of subjects, I saw your name as the most recent post. I am always happy to see that!
