They are going to be collectors items in a decade.

The way things are going in Manchester, Guardiola might be available soon!

I admit I am happy with Ruud. At least it would be interesting. I also admit I would take the job myself - not because I want to actually manage the team, but because I could use the payout after I got fired before the first match.
-
Strangely, I think both these statements are true. The world has always been diverse with different cultures moving around throughout history, and sometimes we forget how this was managed over the years/decades/centuries - often not in a good way. One thing not to do is think "every culture is the same." It isn't true. At the same time, every culture has its idiots and evil folks, and we shouldn't think everyone is like them.

I agree as to the united nature of the fanbase ... at this moment. But if the dog-poo hits the fan, opinions will change, and that includes the opinions they held in the past!

Heck, I am even prepared for the condescending attitude from the members of this forum!

My wife didn't renew our season tickets when I was in the hospital. I was told I was at risk of seizures due to the scar tissue - but, shucks, the medicine seems to be working, I am testing myself with crowds, and haven't had one since May. I looked at the prices, and felt lucky it didn't come back. I miss going to the games, but I think I would miss the money more.

When Rodgers got the job, I was happy. A friend of mine - a Scottish Celtic supporter I met when living in Rome - warned he would do great and amazing at first, but his self-interest would end up hurting us. We gave us two trophies and European appearances. He also got us relegated. It is definitely a love-hate relationship.
-
Looking at our squad - it is weakish, yes ... but definitely underperformed. With some of the questions lifted after our court win ... we must be an intriguing prospect, especially as a non-6 team with trophies and multiple European appearances in the last decade. I am looking forward to the new person (hope is a virtue, I have been told).

I think the fact we escaped losing points due to our finances opens the field a bit - they certainly want someone with a little merit in the role before January. My guess is it will be Moyes, but it is just a guess.

Ex Players - They used to play for us
MarriedaLeicesterGirl replied to davieG's topic in Leicester City Forum
I admit it is a short career, and taking the money is certainly a huge incentive, but I think most of these guys think they can step it up (even if it's obvious they can't). At the same time, my point is: The reason they are bought is to weaken the other team, not to improve the buying team. -

This is the thing I hate about the "Big 6" tactics - I understand it when they sign great players from "lesser" teams. Taking a Kanté, Chilwell, Fofana, or even a Maguire – I understand. They will improve the new team, and the club makes good money in the deal. That’s life. But the only reason to take a KDH or a Drinkwater – who will never really play in their team – is to weaken the “lesser” team. It is to make sure that the “other 14” don’t forget their place. It destroys real competition and frankly destroys the careers of players who could shine in another squad. -
Why are we such happy clappers?
MarriedaLeicesterGirl replied to Walshy5's topic in Leicester City Forum
I had to stop going to the games in 2023, for various reasons. But when I went, I sat in the family stand with my two boys. Trust me, there are impatient and "raucous" fans there - parents teaching their kids to yell profanity and make obscene gestures, etc. Call me a puritan, but I didn't like it and it was somewhat embarrassing to watch parents literally teaching their children to be jerks. I applauded the team when they did well, and was quiet when they didn't deserve to be cheered. I never booed the team. But I went to the games because I - gasp! - wanted to watch football. I think it was less than five times I walked out and saw an actual fistfight happening - I was with my children, and we went to watch a game, not violence. But there were lots of people who seemed to think those fights were the best part of the day - like race car fans wanting to see a crash. Seriously, I just don't get it. I admit the teams probably want some richer fans, which is why new stadiums are designed with special money-sucking areas for the rich. I am less sure they want tourists (except for maybe a few of the "Big" clubs). What I think they want is for people to be able to come to the games and feel safe, and yes, be able to bring their families. -
Jamie Vardy Appreciation

Hopefully we'll get a good backup in January... but Vardy still has a year (or two) in his system, I think. -
Do you have a pre-match ritual?

When I was able to get to the stadium - my Foxes socks (not the team, just something with the animals.) -

Strong team. I hope it is a defining game (with a win). -
I don't want us to lose at all! I want the manger to prove everyone wrong, even if I am perplexed at how he does it. When we won 2 in a row, it made me happy. I just don't think he can do it... I will be thrilled if we win.

I admit I didn't see the game, but can't judge. When he was Kasper's sub, he was great if there were penalties in a cup, but awful when he got the top spot. But I think these posts are distracting from the Cooper - OUT posts!

I was watching Arsenal-Liverpool at the pub yesterday (rooting for the meteor to hit), but I was just thinking "The can complete a frigging pass; they can get into position" and, dammit, our team could do that just a few years ago. Yes, the "top teams" have better players, but at the same time: Our team members aren't amateurs! They are being badly trained and badly managed.

I had a pretty large stroke last year - I had to stop going to the matches, since the scarring makes me prone to seizures. This is my second pub watching - I consider it a medical treatment to learn to deal with crowds.
