Season Ticket announced at my local club Brackley... £200 if bought early (by end of June) £8 a game for NL North is incredible compared to on the gate price of £18 Sounds like they were very disappointed by last season and wanted to thank fans with this offer. Just ordering mine now, second season of having one after following them since 2020

Not anymore, he sold Leicester to Paul Cairns in 2023. His son is a fantastic prospect and rides for Poole Pirates in the league below

It was a horrendous crash, I have never seen anything so bad in my life at any track I have visited since the 80s If the lad can make any normal recovery that will be more than good enough. Been a real tough week for riders getting injured especially on the continent. Real nasty crash at Northampton last week too but thankfully the riders should be fine. With all that being said Leicester have had a very good start to the season, already through to the cup final in July and have won 4 out of their first 5 meetings. Decent crowds too especially the Sheffield meeting but they do bring a lot of away fans. Fingers crossed the Polish rider makes a full recovery

That's a really good point as to who really goes because they still love the game. I think very few if they were honest would admit they love the modern game. My folks neighbours keep going but really don't enjoy it anymore. It becomes a habit for vast majority and no wonder crowd atmosphere is dying. If it wasn't for myself moving 55 minutes away and finding a new club to follow I'd have given up football completely. But in fact watching my local non-league team rekindled my love for the game as opposed to the multi millionaire version we now have that has no genuine link to the community anymore. I'm also bemused how anyone thinks a 2 year old wants to go to the football! My word, it took me 7-10 years of life to want to go to football even though I supported Leicester as a kid and I looked forward to the day I'd go as I approached double figures. I only started going in my teens mid week when I could get to the ground and I loved those mid-week games. The attention needed is quite something else as it's hard slog for kids. Plus the poor child is barely out of nappies in a facility that is not good for little kids but middle class World is getting more and more bizarre these days to say the least. If I still lived within the county, would I still go... possibly I would but I'm not convinced I would. Tbf the season ticket offers great value and perhaps that's why we have too many fans locked in which eventually gives us the decline in supporter base, not in terms of numbers but in terms of any output especially noise. They just turn up now. And one thing for sure, it's not our club, it never has been, and never will be - we simply rent a seat or a space - it's a perfect place to keep us in our place in society if we're really honest about why clubs were formed!

After watching a few seasons of NL North I think any team on the up will do well in it so I expect Harborough Town will be fine. It's the league above that which is a step too far for a lot of small clubs At Brackley we're seeing massive upgrades to the playing surface (not plastic grass thankfully as I'd stop going if it wasn't grass) with new drainage and I imagine they have the aim to be like Boreham Wood that secures a NL spot properly and then can aim to kick on. Trouble is there's a huge queue of clubs wanting the same and just looking back over history of the 5th tier it is littered with small clubs lasting 1-2 seasons and then going south afterwards in terms of league placings and/or worse sadly. The NL is a league of three distinct sections with the ex-football league clubs generally dominating it whereas in the NL North anything is possible! The year Brackley won the league they were struggling for first three months looking over their shoulder at that time before going on an incredible run. Some real big teams in NL North that have big followings like Kidderminster, Hereford, Chester etc. Don't expect a big following from Brackley! 50-70 max I'd say. A pity Curzon got relegated as you get to know their 4 away fans quite well! Should be an enjoyable season and it would not surprise me to see Harborough in the play offs next year

I'm fairly similar too, started to lose interest in 2019 season, then the fun and games started in 2020 and I did not miss it one bit, was almost glad to be locked out of the stadium Sat in the ground for the 'lightshow' before the Liverpool game on Boxing Day 2019 and thought this is just the beginning of the end for me bothering with it. I used to love watching the big tournaments too, but now possibly won't even turn on a game for the forthcoming WC But I still love the game as I went to 20+ non-league games last season. Players are more like us. they have jobs, talk to the supporters and are actually likeable. Not so keen on the 'limbs' brigade that seems to be moving to some non-league clubs, thankfully not mine! I just cannot stand the big clubs anymore, so I'm like you in that I could not care if Leicester won the PL ever again as I won't be there now. I don't want to donate to hard-up millionaires every week keeping them in the luxury they do not deserve!

Not for me, I gave it up my ST last year after 27 years of doing 100s of games and I have not missed it one bit. Before that I'd go when I could as I had a Saturday job as a kid so would just do mid week games in the old East Stand at FS. So I've really disliked supporting millionaires these past few seasons that are jogging around on the pitch with no connection to any of us as fans anymore. I have lived 50-55 minutes away for the past few years so I decided to go to a local club down here instead. Started going to Brackley Town in 2020 and far prefer watching players that are more like us that have a job and actually put a shift in. Even if Leicester win the champions league I'm not coming back, top flight football has been ruined and it won't return now to what we were treated with in the 90s etc. Players that lived nearby would say hello and they'd speak with you. It is such a big disconnect now and they do not deserve our support in any way. Perhaps I'll go to the odd big club game as a treat but it's unlikely that I'd do anything more than that and I have to admit I really have no plans to return.

They do indeed, I see it round our way, all sorts come out of the woodwork for the big games! Then nowhere to be seen for run of the mill games. Perhaps they're the 'limbs' brigade that post stuff on social media! Glad we're heading back to NL North at Brackley, that league isn't any place for clubs our size. They've competed as well as they can, should really have stayed up as they were under no threat in mid Feb but now they cannot find a way to win and look to be lacking quality. It doesn't help that we couldn't field a full bench yesterday at home, only had 4 players on it but two were goalkeepers and one I think was a 40+ coach! What's worse is that we had no real forward in the starting line up as he was on the bench! Tbf it wasn't a bad afternoon at all and they held Boston to 1-1 in the end. I think hybrid PT/FT clubs work real badly and for the past couple of months our team look completely up against it in the last 30 mins of games as the younger fitter FT teams up their game. I'm not sure how clubs with crowds at 1500 or so actually financially survive with FT squads in the NL, it must be hard to do so.

Ha I love that, it’s how I feel when watching BBC these days,! Ilkeston price is very good, we used to pay £12 for NL North down here 5 years ago. I got a ST at Brackley this year and it cost £345, which I’m good with as local clubs need our support. I think my LCFC ST was c£445 last year and I’d say that was great value for PL level. But I did get fed up with the 1984 style running of the club (+ zombie nature of PL fans) and was glad to exit. Plus if we ever move I now have no issue with going to another club. Done it once, can do it twice. But if I still lived near Leicester I’d still be going I’m sure. I think like all things in life the periphery exits first (last in first out too). So that journey that was OK whilst seeing a winning team is no longer worth making. it’s quite evident that a lot on here that are exiting are doing so because the distance now becomes a chore, which I fully understand. As we get older we tend to lose our desire to travel so it goes hand in hand. Also as humans we’re easily manipulated creatures so I’m sure even with all the faults listed at Leicester if we were winning we’d all be a lot happier in a full stadium!

£19 for an adult ticket at Boston is about right for that league. It's £18 at Brackley where I go and the league below I paid £17 at Curzon at Christmas. But I have to admit for all of the faults of LCFC, when I had my ST and it was pro-rata at £23 per game, it is actually very good value It's not good value for matchday prices, I stupidly almost went once this season but c£40 (with fees I think) for the game I looked at in the Kop just wasn't worth coming back for the game. It's quite a gap from Boston price to Leicester price still, but nothing is cheap these days anywhere. At the Speedway I pay £22 per meeting. Anyhow apart from a few mins reading Foxes Talk, I've really not missed it one bit since giving up after 27 years. I honestly think if anyone had a ST and only went to 4 games this season (seems like a lot can't get past 4 games of torture), then why bother next season. Just a waste of money as like most say I could barely sell mine last year even in the PL!

Very sad to see what vandals can do but I'm sure all will be good for the start of the season. Season tickets went on sale (in person) at the track this weekend so it looks like we should be OK Supporters have raised more than was hoped so that should go along way to fixing the broken parts etc. And some real interesting news, we have Northampton opening up for Speedway this year at Brafield Just down the road for me so a great chance to see it close by The sport overall in UK is at it's lowest ebb for decades but with Northampton opening and Buxton re-opening it's not all doom and gloom. Plus Mildenhall re-opened late last year. The biggest threat (after the vandals) is to the stadiums in cities where land is worth so much more than Speedway. I think over time most tracks will be outside of cities and with Spedeworth running stock cars very well these days, they seem to like sharing with Speedway so we may see more venues get offered up. If we can protect what we have and re-build then there's a chance we'll get out of the trough.

I finally gave mine up after 27+ years and have not looked back one bit. Enjoying my time since 2020 supporting Brackley Town and even though we may well be heading back down to the NL North (my favourite league) it's been a fantastic season. I watched 10 minutes of Bournemouth v Sunderland last week in the clubhouse before the home game at Brackley and those few minutes of PL football looked horrible compared to what we see in non-league. The play acting from grown men was enough to remind me that I'm very much done with big club football apart from the odd visit if I feel like I need to sample a big crowd atmosphere again. Barwell looks a great place to visit for games, same with Quorn too. My dad played for Anstey years ago so I should one day visit them for a game. I'm from Shepshed originally and rarely went to the games there which I now feel like I should have gone to more.

I think there are so many reasons and we definitely all get jaded. I have to admit my football enthusiasm has fully returned now since going to watch my local non-league team. In fact I love going to watch them. They’re mainly a team of part timers playing in the National League, and the players are more like the average man so we can relate to them. The game (and match day experience as they say) isn’t a chore whatsoever. Almost no play acting, no VAR, no millionaires on the pitch and the ball stays in play most of the game. Players talk to the supporters too. No headphones in sight! I’m not the only one that feels this way. Other clubs fans have switched allegiance too. Something I’d never have done pre-2020 but I’m so glad I did. In my opinion Leicester City FC does not feel like it represents any of us anymore. This is from someone that has been to 100s of games home and away.

I know what you mean, it becomes a chore to go to every game and we learn nothing about ourselves by doing repetitive actions. I’m certain modern stadium sports were invented to keep us in our place. They certainly keep us divided. Football is great to attend but I do wonder if we really need to get so attached to anything. In the end it means absolutely nothing.

Exactly the same as you, I quit mine a year ago after 27 years. Only went to 4-5 games in 24/25 season. Endless emails before that ‘checking’ in when I didn’t go! Then as soon as I jacked it in no recognition I had spent so much with them. Tbh I don’t plan to ever go back even with new owners, I enjoy my local non league club far too much now (since moving 50 mins away from home) I haven’t missed a single thing about LCFC, but I do check into FT most weeks I admit! I personally think that the club is in far worse a place because the fan base is split. That divide will take it down even further. No doubt about that. Sad as I loved the 90s Leicester it was truly a special club then and I still love that set up but not this one and tbh until we see players more in line with the average supporter I can’t see how I’ll ever care for the new robotic millionaire that pretends to be a footballer that we now see!

Where I go now (Brackley Town) they proudly announce attendance around 75-80 minute mark without fail and publish the away number too. Having said that I was at Curzon FC (I know! What excitement!) a few weeks back and they take two weeks to publish their crowd... yet they really don't need to as you can count the crowd it's that low!

I fully get this, the fixture list, i.e. lack of Saturday 3pm KOs is atrocious. Even if I had a ST I’d prob have gone to a max of 4-5 games so far. There’s certainly far more reasons for people disliking life at LCFC these days than just a poorly run club

Not been since April, may be a few years before I’m tempted back. We’ll see. I’ll be at Curzon Ashton v Radcliffe FC for the huge NW derby in the NL North! Just scouting the lower leagues in prep for when Leicester are in the same league! Slightly miffed I’m not seeing Brackley v Robbie Savage FC at my usual home venue but Curzon it is!

100%, exactly what I experienced a few years back, loved the club for so long but was treated like utter crap so I no longer attend. I’m glad they’re hitting hard times, serves them right.

FC United looks a real vibrant club. You’re very lucky to have so many clubs to visit in that area. No need to be an armchair fan. Bury alone has 3-4 clubs in minutes of each other. I’ll be at Curzon v Radcliffe on Boxing Day, my brother in law supports the away team

I’ve already moved on, cannot see the big clubs or PL wannabes ever returning to their more humble roots. I thought I’d miss it and return but actually I cannot believe how good it is to ditch corporate football i realised it was over when for the past few seasons I stopped cheering any Leicester goals but cheered Brackley instead. Personally it’s just 11 men in blue tops that don’t represent any of us and realistically they never did, same with all clubs. Perhaps I’m being harsh as we just saw the last of the players that cared leave to Italy recently. I just enjoy football with friends now which gives us loads of benefit from going to the Brackley home games. I could easily change that too if we moved away and without doubt I’d follow another club but I like it down here so enjoy cheering them on. BTW Leicester is not going anywhere, yes doldrums look very likely but the money being magically found for big cities to have football will continue without a doubt. It keeps us all distracted and divided after all!

Loved it tonight at Brackley, I go to most of the home games and the lads worked so hard for that tonight. An absolute pleasure to be part of this club. Great fireworks display but for me the biggest support was the person in the tree (at the cricket ground) behind the away end giving extra support with his phone torch when Notts took the pens!

FC United looks to be a vibrant club with lots going for it from what I have seen Yep I know what you mean about second club. Not loads of choice around here and I had zero interest in following another football league club Our local non-league club does not feel like it is even part of the same footballing structure as Leicester, it almost feels like supporting a different sport - the players give it their all, management talk to the supporters, it has a young fanbase, and there is a real connection for those that go - basically the opposite to Leicester now. My main mate I go with is a spurs fan, and really feels the same as myself in that he enjoys football again. I've introduced 12 people to the club in the past 5 seasons and only 1 refuses to come back!

Sounds like how I felt for last few years, and second half of last season absolutely nobody wanted a free ticket apart from the obvious Ipswich/Vardy send off. I binned it off and won’t be returning unless big club football regains it’s heart. Lots of great footballing clubs around Manchester (not thinking about the big two) to sample, with many probably within 20-30 mins max. My Brother in Law now regularly attends Radcliffe Boro in the NL North after pretty much getting fed up of big clubs too. He literally had his football spark re-lit on a visit down here to Brackley Town and goes every home game to his local club now.
