  1. Due to Rudkin's scruffy handwriting?
  2. I feel as deflated as Phil Mitchell
  3. He'll have a great game. Because it's August, and he's the World Champion of football in August. Just a shame this game wasn't scheduled for next April/May because that's when his form usually drops off a cliff.
  4. Not sure about the validity of this 'source' but will post anyway https://www.tribalfootball.com/article/soccer-premier-league-leicester-lining-up-bid-for-arsenal-star-816ed991-cb31-49eb-925d-b843d4eb2a3b? Leicester City may be ready to put in a bid for midfielder Reiss Nelson from Arsenal. Per The Mirror, the Foxes were hoping to bring Wilfried Zaha back to England. However, a deal to sign Zaha from Galatasaray in Turkey appears to have collapsed. The issue with the mooted loan deal is related to finances, which means they may look elsewhere. The source outlines that Nelson is seen as the alternative option by Leicester boss Steve Cooper. The Arsenal homegrown talent does want to leave this summer for more regular game time.
  5. Considering they both played in Ghana's WCQ win just 8 weeks ago I would think Fatawu knows who he is (Ayew got a hat-trick btw).
  6. That's some impressive Harry Potter-style stuff. I say GERRIMIN.
  7. Oumar Solet anyone? https://www.getfootballnewsgermany.com/2024/hoffenheims-move-for-leicester-city-target-oumar-solet-on-the-verge-of-collapse/? kicker reports that Hoffenheim’s move for Red Bull Salzburg central defender Oumar Solet is on the verge of collapsing in the final stages. The deal that was said to be around €6.5-7m and was in the home stretch has collapsed, Solet was also a target for VfB Stuttgart and Leicester City this summer.
  8. He's still getting paid by Chelsea by all accounts. Seems to have zero motivation to get back into the game right now. I'm certain he'd be a shoo-in for the England job if he really wanted it, but obviously he doesn't, hence why Carsley has been put in temporary charge.
  9. Let's hope you don't turn out to be half right.
  10. So; 1) Hat-trick on home debut 2) Breaks ankle badly soon after 3) Falls out with everyone on return 4) Leaves club Cool
  11. Röhl vs Rooney was always likely to be a bit of a mismatch.
  12. I thought it was Drone Spying.
  13. It certainly wasn't a priority over other positions, not when he's not really an improvement on what we already had at the CB position.
  14. Strange signing in that I don't think he's better than Souttar. We just seem to love wasting money for some reason.
  15. Yeah, clean sweep of all 8 available golds.
  16. Here's a crazy stat. The Dutch finished above us in the medal table despite winning 31 fewer medals than we did. When they had the sniff of a gold medal, they more often than not took it.
  17. Surely he could do better than the slog of a relegation battle with us? Be amazing if this happens but I just can't see it.
  18. Funding plays a big part, but not all. We can (and do) boost our medal count by targeted funding at sports like track cycling and rowing. But population count will always play a significant part too. The bigger the pool of talent you can select from, the better you will do. If you can marry the two together (funding and population) then you have a pretty unstoppable force, as we saw with the Americans in the Track & Field (who's NCAA collegiate system is prooving to be an incredible production line for athletes).
  19. I'll have forgotten all of our silver and bronze medallists by next week. The only British performance from this Olympics that will last long in the memory for me will be Keely Hodgkinson's (and maybe Yee and Pidcock too). You make think that harsh, but it's true.
  20. Almost half our medals are bronze medals (29/65), by far the highest proportion amongst the top nations. I just don't think we have the winning mentality that other nations do.
  21. Elye Wahi is on the Lens bench. Maybe we can sort a transfer out at HT.
  22. Heal and grow... Heal and grow... Cool wet grass... Cool wet grass...
  23. I could only stomach about a minute of it before switching over. Not for me.
