We've had some strange signings in recent years, who have "issues" and so unable to play much for us. Berkovic and Bertrand were two others. Is it a common thing in football nowadays?

They may drink less, but my impression is that younger folk are more adventurous when it comes to weekends away. Cyprus, Dubai or even New York.

I wonder if the effects of the long-distance commuters to London come into play? Leicester is probably on the edge of regular commuting to London (although you do get the odd masochist try it from Nottingham). Plus, for whatever reason, maybe luck, Nottingham is seen as a better shopping destination. This may have changed now the Broadmarsh centre has been demolished.

Yep, as I put "because they realised there was a big chance of vandalism/damage". I can see why they did what they did, but it all meant a lousy experience, not just on the train, but in the crocodiles taking you straight to the designated standing pen. Many of us complain about the increased cost of tickets nowadays, but at least there is an attempt to provide a better viewing experience.

I never liked the "football specials", despite liking train travel normally. The train authorities would dig out the oldest, most decrepit carriages to transport the fans, because they realised there was a big chance of vandalism/damage, and the route would often mean waiting on side lines for "regular" services to pass by. It's no wonder fans (and in particular the squaddies/casuals) moved into travelling by the normal train service (or by car/van).

Or in other words, the 10 UK cities that are currently under-achieving in attracting such parties. I think there is potential there with sports events and possible activities (archery? virtual reality-rides in the space centre?) Perhaps convert Highcross centre into the nation's biggest escape room? But I can't see a huge demand based on curry houses, given many other cities like Brum, London and Glasgow already have curry rep.

Whoopi would have made a good Doctor Who. I wonder if she was seen as too expensive, being a Hollywood actor? Another good one would have been Christopher Lloyd, but again probably beyond the budget.

Enjoyed that episode. But hasn't the series overdone the "attack on London" scenario a few too many times now? I realise doing stuff in Rio or Bejing may be a shade too expensive, but plenty of other towns/cities that could be used, in Britain or Europe.

Any votes for Sheffield?
