  1. If Praet's not match fix, then could Albrighton perform the role? I know we see him as primarily a winger, but he's fairly flexible and reliable.
  2. Someone's on this board already had a meltdown - we lose this, piss our pants...
  3. Annoying that the Yanks have some decent Chrimbo songs.
  4. If this issue had been addressed earlier last season, we may well have avoided relegation, and BR could still be our manager. There's always a silver lining...
  5. Yep the Lokum version is decent. Then on a different level there is Baklava...
  6. I suspect Walshy would have found speedy Gary a bit of a handful.
  7. I am totally shocked, and impressed, that such a thing exists.
  8. Various things. Trains the dog well. Is prepared to take the dog for adequate exercise everyday. Disposes of the poop. Keeps the dog on a lead when it's likely to approach other dogs, animals and people.
  9. Coming back into form?
  10. I quite like dogs, but agree that certain owners leave a lot to be desired. There are some good owners out there too.
  11. I'm not sure if it's a good thing that Netflix also has reality dating shows, but you're right at least it means a different type of show. There is the odd good comedy show if we search hard enough. There was a good one that had Michael Douglas running a method acting school in California, but I don't know if it is still available to view.
  12. The vast majority of Netflix series involve people shooting and killing with guns, whether it be war-based, crime-based or western-based. Maybe to be expected from American media, but it makes the whole product one-dimensional.
  13. Fatawu on the bench!
  14. I'd agree. Maybe Jimmy Bloomfield, but I was a bit too young to watch games at Filbert Street under his reign. Our team more than held its own in the top league in the 80s under Milne. For some reason a section of fans never warmed to him.
  15. Chicken thighs, roast spuds and parsnips, sprouts.
  16. I'd go for Mahrez in the "best first touch and ball control" category myself.
  17. He's probably dined in a lot of restaurants (as he can afford to) and possibly thought he knew what made a place popular. Also he may have over-estimated his own pulling power - folk may pop by a restaurant if it's owned by Jeremy Clarkson or Harry Kane, but doubt many would be drawn by DD. It's a bit like running a pub (which was once very popular with ex footballers). Seems like a fun job to do, and needing little experience. The reality is a lot different.
  18. Suspect the same with Pep at man city too.
  19. Yep, well worth watching. A bit like a French fusion of Sherlock and Money Heist. Makes me (for once) want to visit Paris. I'd still put Sherlock number one out of the three.
  20. I'd be surprised if the Middle East looks the same in five years, so find it hard to worry about 2034.
  21. It's quite common for a new hardback, even a biography, to have a RRP of £22 to £30 or so. For example the new Haaland is £22, a bio of Dickens (by H Kelly) has a RRP of £25, the Fonz book is RRP £22. Of course where you may be right is that big sellers, such as WH Smith, Amazon or Waterstone will negotiate big discounts with the publisher, so they can sell for less and still make a good profit. The smaller bookshop does not have that bargaining power, but will try and get booksigning events so they can sell at RRP and earn the money to pay their rent.
  22. Marti Cifuentes is the new QPR coach. Me neither, but it seems he's had experience coaching in Scandinavian countries, as well as under 19 teams in Holland and the UK (at Millwall).
  23. Price of a new hardback these days. There again, how much does a round of 5 beers cost? Or a matchday ticket... All relative I suppose. I stick to coffee in Wetherspoons nowadays...
  24. Nigel's next post?
  25. An underrated manager for us, I loved his attacking team of the 80s with greats such as Lineker, Lynex and (Alan) Smith. He bought some good talent in too eg Ally Mauchlan and Gary Mac. If anyone hears of a book launch/signing session please update this thread. Gordon Milne | Pitch Publishing Shankly, My Dad, and Me - Out from 6 November.
