  1. Been chuckling today about the post above which says a 9-0 away win won't happen anymore because of VAR in the same season a 8-0 away win did happen, which prompted me to watch the YouTube highlights. How good were Newcastle and how bad were Sheff U that day. Could have been about 20. Insane how much form changes in the PL, Newcastle cannot buy a win right now
  2. Good post, hard to argue with much of that so fair enough. I do not follow NFL but it is interesting what you say about their 'VAR' - what would our version be? Offsides and goals only? So pens and red cards would have to stay with the on field decision? I loved Spurs v Chelsea as well. As I said I like VAR so I am biased, but I cannot believe some of the comments you read here and on social media about VAR 'sanitising the prem' 'the prem is so boring' etc etc. It's akin to those who say Guardiola and Klopp produce boring football. Imagine these people do not watch the prem and go on Facebook for their news. This season has been fantastic thus far.
  3. I have no idea what any of this means. We’re in the midst of one of the most exciting prem seasons in years, upsets every weekend, one of the most chaotic matches for a long time on nyd. If you’re not entertained by this or think it’s mediocre/controlled, you likely aren’t watching the prem this year
  4. Ask him to put this one up for sale!
  5. In the huge minority of having no problem with var. I wish we had it in April 2017 in Madrid. Hugely glad we had it in May 2021 at Wembley. We’ve had some shockers this season, lucky it doesn’t matter
  6. This is brilliant, where did you find it?
  7. Yes but when we were defending champions we were fighting for survival in an incredibly tough league, and playing in the lucrative champions league. Things are very different this season, the FA cup is our only chance of competitive football matches up until next August in the Prem. We have to go as strong as possible and test our playing style IMO.
  8. Exactly, the last time was 10 years ago. People basing their opinion on the league 10 years ago (when btw we got 102 points…) is odd. Not sure about that. It was embarrassingly easy today, played in fourth gear. City had a bit of fun and we’re clearly thinking about a post match beer at 3-0, but imo that’s no positive reflection on Huddersfield.
  9. What are you on about…I can only count 1 away game this season which hasn’t sold out to STH/members. Why should a bingo bus stag group get tickets, when there’s already demand that’s outstripping supply from city fans?
  10. Why not go for it this year. The league is too easy and it’d be good for us to draw an actual football team in the cup to test our ability
  11. ‘The championship is a tough, physical league, we will get bullied’ Absolute nonsense. Cannon flicked a big strapping centre back off with his fingernail and still had enough time to take a few touches, look up and score. The physicality and ability of the other 23 teams in this league is embarrassing. Another easy win without breaking sweat and a bit of fun after our third to keep everyone awake.
  12. This is near but we’ve played them enough recently so can’t imagine it’s gonna be that popular? Then again looking at the aways coming up from feb onwards they’re all a bit boring/midweek. Other than Leeds, Plymouth, preston
  13. Tim Martin much like Ryanair man is an attention seeking **** but with the both of them you can’t argue with what they’ve built. Good point on loads of students being in spoons, gives it a good younger vibe and means there’s always a party. But the amount of weird mid 20s drippy stoners in every spoons is noticeable. Absolute freaks that all ‘only have natural medicine to treat my anxiety’ which makes me reconsider my stance that drugs should be legal
  14. Went to Salford last night. Poxy little ground but really welcoming and friendly staff. The local brewer is Joseph holt and had some very nice ales in the pubs pre match. Next one will be FCSB in the Romanian league in feb (provided tv doesn’t move it) as in Bucharest for a night
  15. Guesty preston will be our last away where we smash the opposition to bits before real competitive football in the prem begins again. A proper promotion party. We will take whatever we’re given
  16. Incredible numbers for the time of year. Nothing but admiration for those that are doing every game in this period
  17. Can’t remember the name but it was rank, I tried it on Wednesday. There was a £10.50 vanilla stout on!
  18. Good, got all the nye resolution types subsidising my gym membership for the year.
  19. This is standard when booking tickets anywhere. Credit/debit card surcharges and staff/system time processing the order. Not saying it’s right and it’s certainly not justified, but it’s obvious what the charges are theoretically for, how would you challenge it? Even if you order a pint these days there’s a service charge
  20. Tickets to the veuve clicquot tent at ascot next summer are on offer if you’re interested. Can use my referral code
  21. A variety of different drinks in tonne, very nice. Been in town loads this week whilst home and it’s so noticeable how quiet it is. Kinda think at Xmas in 10 years time I’ll be wistfully thinking of what we used to have whilst working through a boarded up city centre
  22. Record points score at this stage of the season without breaking sweat. What could easily happen? If you can’t be optimistic now….
  23. We’re going up, relax. If we don’t it will be a story worthy of lcfc recent history
  24. Tell them you’ve smashed your phone and need a physical one off ticket. Did this multiple times last season. I do not recognise all the sob stories on here when dealing with the ticket office. Tell them what you reasonably want and how you want it
  25. Bet accepted. Speak on Sunday 7 jan!
