This one really baffles me. Played as captain a few times in preseason, was given the number 4, has featured a lot from the social media admin. Is there some attitude problem we don’t know about? Or is he not all that? Has looked good whenever I’ve seen him for us/ Oxford (bar 45mins in the cup), and has had rave reviews. A real shame because he was the one I was most excited about and wanted us to build our team around him this year, come what may. But for the benefit of his career he really needs to leave us if this is how he’s treated.

Love Jordan James as an 8, hate him as a 10. Has looked lost when he’s played there this season, and looked class alongside Winks. Don’t get it

Genuinely think if Faes sticks his arm up to claim a goal kick instead of waggling his finger the pens not given. Think even the Swansea player was claiming a corner not a pen, poor decision from the ref.

Away at WBA looks to be the harder of the 3 fixtures, so wouldn’t surprise me to see Marti stick with the same XI, with more changes midweek at home to Wrexham. Top news, looks a prospect. This is where we have to get the balance right. The last couple of weeks Winks and Faes have shown they should probably be in our best XI at the minute, but whether either are here beyond the summer is doubtful. Same can be said for Soumaré and Ayew who’s contracts are up this summer. Therefore we have to strike a balance between playing our strongest team and the need to get promoted this season, whilst also building for the future. With 9 subs there’s no reason the likes of Page, Monga, Nelson and Aluko shouldn’t be in match day squads at a minimum most weeks. The best academy players have to see a pathway to the first team otherwise we’ll lose them.

Don’t think James will come straight in due to International Duty, and hasn’t trained with the squad at all yet. So imagine the Skippmaré combo gets a stay of execution for now. Also hopefully going to dominate the ball a bit more against Oxford, so would go with Nelson & Ricardo who offer a bit more quality on the ball at the back. Ayew has played every minute so far, so think he will stay in for now.
