Let’s just take a minute and imagine we get 7 points from the first 3 games… Thats not even dreamland with all of the variables on offer at this point. imagine we play Southampton or Ipswich at home first game of the season. Followed by everton away and then forest at home. That happens, or something along those lines, and we are right in the mix for survival, with that belief and momentum to help with the siege mentality. The fans would be going mad every game. Take away the specifics of fixtures and exact points as they were examples, there’s a good chance something like I’ve just mentioned could happen. If we start well, we stay up 100%. Don’t be deflated. Be excited, be curious. Because at the end of the day we are favourites to go down, our expectations as fans is low due to circumstance, but it’s football.

I was genuinely shocked when he was frozen out this year. I think he could be a quality squad player at the very least for us. He got caught a bit when we went down, but he’s still very young and under a good defensive coach he could rectify these issues and develop.

Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'

Apologies, I thought it was 3. Everton were 2 periods too right? Pretty sure we did breach for more money though. Happy to be wrong though, not claiming to be an expert. -

Max deduction is 12 though as far as I am aware. -
My understanding with a mandatory clause is that all the paperwork including the players contract will have already been sorted at the time, so we don’t need to worry. I also think that Fatawu could be even better in a different style where we progress up the pitch quicker and look to hurt teams on the break. The one thing that could happen, as stated by others, is he could be bought from us by someone else before a ball is kicked. In terms of Chelsea though, I think they’d be more likely to come in for Mads. Could even see them going for KDH or Winks tbh.

I think we will get 10 because we breached for bigger amounts and longer than the others. whatever the deduction, I just want it done soon so we know what we are up against. -
Went with a very realistic vote of Corberan. There are more appealing names on the list for sure. But the realistic ones are pretty shocking in reality. I have liked Moyes in the past, but don’t feel he would be the right fit for what we have and what we want to be. Whilst I don’t want him to be our manager, I think some of the stick he’s getting is a bit unfair. I posted my thoughts on Corberan in the thread in the transfer section so won’t double up. Aside from what I wrote in there though, I will add that the fact that he is so humble and real is a massive plus as to what we are up against next season. I genuinely can’t see him doing a Rodgers or maresca flounce, criticising everyone but himself. I also think his willingness to adapt is huge. Like many, I’m not against possession football. I actually quite like it. But we need to be effective over anything, and sometimes that willingness to do what works over your ideals is essential. What I do think is essential for our club though, is pressing, and he will have us pressing for sure!

It’s not a glamorous appointment, and yes we would like more sought after name. In all honesty, I can get behind this. I think it is what we could be needing in terms of approach. I love how positive he is, he won’t ever call us out as fans, he will be on the rollercoaster with us - I think that will be really important, and endearing, to a point where even if we go down we will be United and behind him. And let’s be honest, whilst not at the top of the list in terms of who we would want in an ideal world, he’s head and shoulders over many names that have been/will be linked with us, and would want to come.
-
But it was our abandonment of our model of selling a key asset every year that has come back to bite us. I agree with what you are saying in sentiment, but we are not a rich club, quite the opposite.
-
Don’t panic, Kasper is out of contract at Anderlecht soon!
-
Hopefully it’s that unfinished business at West Brom!

There’s always positives, you just have to be open to seeing them. We had a manager who was unhappy with our quick ball forward counter attacking goals. He would have rather us not scored. That would have been a sure fire way to get us relegated. Next season needs to be about being effective and versatile, not style. With the quality of our squad and reluctance to always play one way next season would have been awful as a fan, and we’d have likely been more frustrated with the manager and state of play than any other manager since Ranieri. I honestly think Enzo leaving is the best for all parties. He didn’t want to be here anymore, openly criticised the fans and the board. We will pocket 8-10m which we definitely need right now, and we get the chance to bring in someone more effective in surviving the drop. If we hire someone that is open to counter attacking football, our wingers are going to be unreal!

We have all been misled around the reality that the club finds itself in financially. I am not buying that Maresca has been hard done to and that he has good reason to leave. Yes, the secrecy that the club has shown over the last few seasons is wrong, and yes we have been mismanaged from top to bottom, but we aren’t looking to find a new club to support are we? We haven’t turned our back on city because of this. And out of everyone, it’s the fans who have been shafted the most - buy both the board and 2 managers who have criticised us. If the club had been transparent about the situation, our expectations as fans would have been adjusted accordingly - we would have understood no signings etc. instead, to keep up with the secrecy, we spent money we didn’t have on players we didn’t need (yes, we did need wingers, but £10m on a defender who warmed the bench and £8m on a striker who did the same was a waste of money) and made our financial situation worse. Enzo has done ok since he arrived, though I was never keen tbh. We ground out results we didn’t deserve early on and got some luck, hit an awful spell later on and then limped over the line having squandered a huge lead. Despite those points, the main issue for me is the spoilt brattishness. The minute any manager criticises the fans, I want them out, and that will never change.

I hear similar, but that daka was employed to give rides himself.
-
Do we not get a discount for ensuring their survival? That’s got to be worth near what they are asking…
-
Mbappe wouldn’t be a bad squad player either.
-
Wonder what jay jay Okocha and Youri djorkaeff are upto nowadays…
-
Of course. But we are financially in a mess. We did not need to sign cannon.
-
You are very wrong. I have known about Hirst for many years. We were interested in him when he was at Wednesday, then he went to leuven on a free so we could avoid the compo. I am no plastic fan mate.
-
Brainless signing along with several others given our position. I know let’s sell Hirst for pennies and bring in someone worse for 8mil said nobody ever. Oh wait…
-
We are never getting Moyes, owners like to see is play sideways and backwards passes for the majority of the game. Puel, Rodgers, maresca…
-
Seriously? Club is financially on its knees, top calls in the big guns to give us a fighting chance and you’re turning your nose up? Absolute madness! It’s a lot different to topps tiles😂
-
I agree, but we have no money so signing anyone for more than a couple of million isn’t wise. Sell the assets, lower the wage bill, go down and rebuild. That’s our only option really, if we miraculously manage to stay up it’ll be a pleasant surprise.
-
Is there one of these for league one and league two? I think that may be more appropriate given our situation. The players on that list are way out of our price range - Sara for example, signed two years ago for over ten million. leftfield about from me - Bali Mumba from Plymouth. We are good for starting full backs, he would be good to bring in as backup and learn from the likes of Ricardo.
-
Chair is going to prison mate - why we didn’t buy him last year.
