Anyone got a link? I’m struggling today!
-
It was always going to one of her or rudders, probably came down to the latter giving better blowies…
-
I’ve thought long and hard about what could be done formation/lineup wise, and whilst I am not a huge fan of a 442 diamond, I think a switch to it, with mavididi and Fatawu up top with monga at the top of the diamond, would give us the best chance of causing opposition defences problems by getting our wingers involved centrally. Those 3 players playing high and central is the way forward, it needs to happen.
-
I think we need to play the wingers very narrow almost as strikers, with a false 9/10 mate. I think it’s the only solution with the players we have. I genuinely think the pace and skill of Fatawu, monga and mavididi would be terrifying played more narrow and direct.

I’m backing the manager, and believe me im no happy clapper. Honestly, he dropped his first absolute clanger tonight. I don’t think he’s done too badly until tonight, so he’s got credit in the bank in my book. lets be real, we lack quality in key areas. That isn’t on Marti. That’s years of decline, bad business and terrible management at board level. Patson Daka has no business starting a competitive game for us, and the substitutions were mind boggling.I’d have started Stephy down the middle over daka. But, and something I have to give Marti credit for, is something needed to change, mavididi needed to come out of the starting 11 and he wasn’t afraid to give Monga a start. It’s not all negative guys. Kristiansen and Skipp just need to train with the 21s. Get them out. The style and patterns will take time, it’s all about just getting point on the board and being patient as I have previously urged people to do. unfortunately tonight wasn’t acceptable, but we are still in the mix, teams are dropping points all over the shop. seriously, let’s just take a minute to breathe.

I really hope our two special wingers (Fatawu and monga) stay with us until they get the move to a huge club that they are destined for, rather than doing a smaller step in between to someone indifferent. There are direct flights to Madrid, Barcelona, Munich, Milan and Turin from east mids right?
-
Should have come off at half time. Monga does look more dangerous and should be trusted more. I don’t think we should be as concrete as to say mavs no longer starts, but more of a shared role on the right between the two would be a start. I don’t think it would be right to expect monga to play 90 every week at this point.

This lad get so much unwarranted stick. We are where we are, we as a fanbase need to understand that. Thomas is an asset to the club we are now. He isn’t a world beater, he’ll never play for a top club, but he’s a very capable player who has been on a journey with us. I would love nothing more than for him to continue to improve as our style and identity starts to develop and stabilise under marti, and become our starting left back for the foreseeable future, because let’s be honest, if you think we are challenging for Europe any time soon you need a taxi to the bradgate unit.

It’s a case of going up, not spending much, coming back down, rinse and repeat mate. The only way we will ever get back to being an established premier league side again, and it will take a long time.
-
We need to go straight back up. Even if we come straight back down. We may have to that several times purely for financial reason. The money is in the premier league, and the money is what we need.
-
Part of the reason the deal didn’t go through is because millwall wanted a lump sum.
-
Yes but both tore it up at Salzburg and got big moves off the back of it. By your logic, Dortmund took the same size punt that we did. One worked out, one didn’t.
-
We have to sign the big Serb. No excuses.
-
Haaland also came from there though. So it is a tricky one mate.
-
We had far too many players. We literally had to get rid of loads, and didn’t need to buy loads back in. i think the numbers in terms of incomings vs outgoings are pretty good personally. My main criticism is that we didn’t pay the money for the big Serb from millwall, and we didn’t move vk, faes, Soumare and daka on, even though all of them had interest.

Is this a straight loan? Any option?

Woyo Coulibaly (gone to Sassuolo on loan, official)

Agreed. I thought he looked good in the brief spell that we saw. Who knows what’s happened behind closed doors. -
I don’t understand why people are against this. He’s a human being, and not responsible for the thing we are not allowed to talk about. As far as I am aware hasn’t shown any public support for it either. He would be an amazing signing. Not wanting to sign someone based on nationality, religion etc is so unbelievably backwards.

Bilal El Khannouss (Stuttgart loan, official)

Which we won’t benefit from because Stuttgart have an agreement of an €25m option. -

Have they not just pocketed 80mil for a striker they signed for free a year ago? How on earth has this been allowed to happen? A loan with an option does not benefit us at all. It barely affects PSR, and doesn’t give us money to strengthen and replace BEK, who was one of our best players. Make it make sense. -
Any credible links?
-
Any idea what sort of fee we would be talking? If it’s a couple mil fair enough, but I would be hesitant to spend any more than that on someone approaching 30 given our recent track record, lack of resale etc.
-
Centre back? Faes replacement?
-
I feel like you are just wanting to argue to be honest. If we were desperate for the cash, BEK would have already gone. We have sold lots of players and reduced the wage bill significantly, spending no money and stating we don’t want to sell BEK.
-
The fact that we don’t want to sell, and that it has been publicly stated that we do not need to sell BEK following the surprise sales we have made would point to us being fine for PSR for this period.
