Enzo Out? Time for an official thread/poll
Heathrow fox replied to SecretPro's topic in Leicester City Forum
Sacked with 4 games to go whilst being top. It’s an incredible situation. -
Don’t know if you have read up on this? it looks like they are going big to attract World Class competitions and NFL games. With a huge sports village kind of thing to go with it.They want it built yesterday.I admire their ambition even though it sounds like hell to me.It’s probably doomed to failure but I’m afraid there’s more chance of something like this taking of in Britain’s second city than an average place like Leicester.

Western style capitalism requires an inflation rate of around 2% and ideally wages to go up slightly more. This way economies grow whilst living standards increase.Zero inflation and 100% employment rates can be a sign of a stagnant economy. It shows that there is no movement.Japan had a problem not so long back with similar economic conditions.

At that moment in time Rodgers was the Messiah and if he had of gone to Arsenal there would’ve been outrage. It reminds me of when MON went to Celtic and there was a danger he would take a third of the squad with him.Pay them more the fans demanded. So they did.Two years later the same fans wanted blood because we were stuck with an aged overpaid squad that we couldn’t shift and well.

I can remember several posters lording it because we had the 7th highest wage bill not so long ago.I also wouldn’t rely on Top to keep writing off debts forever. Also think his Dad would have been sucked into the ever increasing wage spiral.
-
It’s also real life that for a provincial club like Leicester City.Getting players to sign in the first place requires offering Alucrative pay packages.

I believe it is or was no great shakes.

Really wouldn’t want to risk going under a speed camera mounted gantry doing over 70 these days. One thing I’ve noticed is when there is a red X indicating a blocked lane.Camera flashes anybody who doesn’t change lane. The road is moving slowly.Plenty of time to change lane. The cameras clearly going off every five seconds Yet drivers continue to stay in the red X lane and get flashed.

I should add that Reading has the major advantage of being closer to London and a has a major gateway railway station.Plus game changing Queen Elizabeth line.

The lad has used wards to get his stats so it’s skewed things a bit.

I think from the very early nineties through to when the austerity started to bite.Leicester CC had made massive year on year improvements. The options as far as a night out was concerned seemed to have increased ten fold from when I first started hitting the town.Shopping wise the same.Having the train station so far away does not help now everything has shifted over.I go to Reading a fair bit.It reminds me of Leicester with the way it’s set out.I had Leicester slightly ahead but maybe not so much now.Leicester has a few more nooks and cranies but Readings station is smack bang in the middle and it’s also had a few major developments go up. For whatever reason there seems to be a reluctance to have a major flat building development right in the city centre.Everywhere else seems to be doing it

Richie Wellens is an excellent shout.I’ve watched Orient play occasionally the last few years so know what he’s had to deal with.Has kept them on an upward trajectory despite having to move some very good players on.If it were to go sideways in the near future and Leicester have to cut their cloth accordingly ie bin the big egos, then you would hope someone high up will have been tracking his career.
-
Yes wages would have to tumble as income from tv contracts and gate receipts would go through the floor. How is that a good thing? Why would Crewe’s no 8 want to play for 40k pa,on insecure one and two year contracts, when they can lay bricks fix computers or be a PT for the same or more.Plus get an extra 500/600 quid a week minimum by playing part time.General day to day and match running costs like energy,Police, stewarding, maintenance and paying club staff are likely to go up still, not down.

Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'
Heathrow fox replied to ClaphamFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
Sad thing is they have us all over a barrel.Banish them to their Euro Super League and therefore any involvement in domestic competition and the whole system collapses. -

Yes.Martin Samuel has been warning about the absurdities of FFP since it’s conception. He’s probably about the best sports journalist out there.I even used to buy the Daily Mail on a Tuesday and Friday pre smartphone days, just to read his column.News of the World before that. -
Slough Town v Yeovil Town today.Over 1500 there.Yeovil were pretty ordinary and in the end lucky not to lose. They have Frank Nouble up front. He’s played for nearly as many clubs as big Trev.

The answer to this question anytime before 1992 would be FA Cup 9.5 times out of 10.

Great effort by the Bronco’s today losing in the last minute to Hull.Who must be thanking their lucky stars that London will be relegated regardless this season.Mike Eccles is proving to be a phenomenal coach.I wonder if he knows anything about football?
-
I used to watch Brentford until they became popular. This season I’ve been to the Valley quite a few times.Charlton is in the arse end of London and their fanbase is real. Plus they have been served up nearly two decades worth of krud.AFC Wimbledon are also worth a visit as a neutral.Very well ran club and great atmosphere

There is shrinkflation which is what you’re describing but there is also skipflation.Changing the ingredients of products and replacing expensive ones with cheaper alternatives.Which I think is even sneakier. You can even google the recipes of products then and now to see how much you’re being skanked.

Good case for getting in the Leicester Meh 11

Their Christmas ad campaign was dreadful. They ended up just showing the version of the bloke presenting a tray of pigs in blankets to Mr Buble. For what seemed like the whole of December. At least the previous years woeful effort had elf going round the store.
