  1. They probably would if the wages were anything like half decent You seem to be missing the point regarding UKIP Reform and why Nigel Farage is so popular along certain parts of eastern England.
  2. Lincolnshire has experienced more than it’s fair share of immigration these last two decades. You don’t have to be of colour to be classed as a migrant/immigrant
  3. His takeover came just in time. They were able to bring in much needed bodies in the final loan window,of which Horsfield was one.Box to box midfielder Jarrett another. There may have been more.Very likely we went down that season if there had been a delay in ownership.
  4. Starmer promised growth during the election campaign. He made it the main pledge. So far we have had very little if any improvement and already know it’s going to be slow for the foreseeable. So for that they have failed. It’s not just the usual suspects who are critical. He is just as unpopular on what is now called the left wing of our society. That includes Blue Labour. The Workers Party and a whole host of progressive LW social media platforms. It’s the lack of positivity that stands out.Andy Burnham has come to the fore recently as a possible replacement. Not his biggest fan but at least he would bring some bloody energy.Instead all we have to look forward to is Wes Streeting
  5. Did he ever go away?
  6. File on 4 today was an interesting listen.Inside The Migrant Hotel.
  7. Reading the last few pages you would think using the NHS is totally free.Roughly 5% of average bods income tax goes on funding it.Not enough maybe but the NHS certainly isn’t free.
  8. Glasto is always a good guide for judging these sort of things.Just compare and contrast a birds eye view of the Pyramid stage crowd. That footage looks around the 200k mark to me.
  9. The economy is the main reason
  10. That would be roughly 5% of the British adult population.Or 1 in 20 attending today’s protest.
  11. I think Milne signed Sealy?Hamilton gets away without mention in these worst ever manager threads because hardly anyone was there to witness it.Awful manager.Broke the transfer record twice btw.
  12. I would chuck them all in one league.Have all the teams play each other, but only the once. Then alternate the fixtures the following season.Use the ratings to ensure an even spread so a weaker team doesn’t end up playing all the stronger teams away one year. Add on a really complicated play-off competition at the end of the season to determine final placings. That just about adds up to the same amount of matches a Championship club plays now.
  13. Championship and League one to be merged from next season.
  14. I have a love hate feeling about Martin Samuel.Sometimes I think he’s the only football journo worth the tag. He’s also incredibly knowledgeable about all sports. Most of the others aren’t fit to sharpen his pencil He can be pretty inconsisent.Just one example. Before PSR became an issue,he would regularly point out that CL football could only be regularly achieved by the elite clubs as keeping up with the big boys took year on year investment.Something only the top 5/6 could do with the luxury of missing out on qualification for any length of time.Without their owners running out of cash or enthusiasm He would write this in a pretty condescending manor.Almost as if he liked the status quo
  15. Governments will always come down hard on mass rioting. There was some pretty harsh sentences handed out after the 2011 unrest. The Police have always gone in hard on mass strike action etc. It feels like there has been a real effort by certain influencer’s to stoke up tensions before the tradional riot season ends.Or in other words, before it gets cold, dark and rains.
  16. If you watched that game from a Charlton pov Ayew caused them great frustration with his tanker turning circle and shot Elephant diving tactics
  17. They will never reveal the state of the club’s finances as it makes them sitting ducks. It would also panic the remaining pro Top parts of the fanbase
  18. I think the English flag is a bit meh.The way it’s predominantly white with a bit of red.Its the sort of colour scheme a consistently crap football club from some middle of nowhere outpost in the midlands would wear.Think Lincoln City. The Union Jack on the other hand is a beast of a flag.Such a clever design.I love red, white and blue together. The French tricolour a belter also
  19. There have been many false dawns. This next generation of youth will save us millions etc.Only for the vast majority to end up at the likes of Grimsby and Swindon (If they were lucky) Clearly Monga has the Heskey dust sprinkled on him.Heskey had the advantage of playing in a team on the rise. It’s a big ask of Monga in the current situation.
  20. Cliff Ginetta used to drink in my old local. As an individual he always came across as a really decent typical working class bloke who did 12 hour shifts in the Walkers Crisp factory. He’s a quite man who never lauded it that he was chairman of the supporters club.He was well liked. I get it that the LCSC stance is causing great frustration. My memory is telling me that they even tut tutted when the anti Pleat/Shipman feeling was at it’s highest. Maybe just let them be
  21. It’s always fun ro go back to page one on most failed player threads.Quite a few questioned this particular transfer in all fairness.
  22. Anyone remember who was being linked after the Bryan Hamilton sacking other than Pleat ?
  23. This is total nonsense. As much as the British government wants a war with Russia in it’s dreams. It will always have to do as it’s told. The USA will never sacrifice NewYork Chicago and LA to save London Paris and Berlin.Never.So it’s a bit of a stretch to expect them to wave goodbye to Houston for the sake of bloody Sunderland. Not aimed at you but it’s astonishing how many mugs still believe this. A change in leader by any which means would speed things up a bit.
  24. I believe they are tilted to allow the smaller clubs to progress to the group stages at least. This definitely happened prior to the. new group stage format. On paper it looks like a good idea but it can lead to the same old clubs benefiting from the prize money, then dominating their domestic leagues.
  25. I think this total rebuild model will be the way to go for most clubs who all built their identikit stadiums post Hillsborough. Most won’t last the test of time and are already looking as fashionable as Jack and Vera’s cladding.Huge concourses are the way to go.Unfortunately that’s what pushes up the build costs more than anything
