  1. The 1983/85 pinstripe Ind Coope edition. My first and for it’s time a pretty radical shift as clubs started to try and tap into sponsorship etc.
  2. So many of the current and future ill’s of society can and will be traced back to the housing crisis.
  3. Bills keys and babies
  4. Yes, the cost of flying the nest is certainly a major (MAJOR) factor:You could argue that going to university and living away from home in a different town is just as likely to put hairs on the chest than working with adults from the age of sixteen.
  5. I think it largely depends on when you have real responsibilities.A big factor is that today’s young adults don’t tend to leave the nest until they are much older if at all.
  6. 20th April 1982 I think that was the last time Wrexham were in tier 2
  7. Could also be used for various exercises during circuit training
  8. Thank God for Mike Ashley Thank God For Sports Direct
  9. Putting ice on or around either your hands or feet immediately brings the body temperature down and sleep soon follows.I use a latex glove filled with water then frozen when I can be arsed
  10. Trying to keep Southampton off bottom spot in the PL is starting to look like mission impossible. So maybe void that one from his cv
  11. Nathan Jones may come across as a bit strange but what a job he’s done turning Charlton around
  12. I’ve watched both fairly regularly post covid.More Charlton last couple of seasons so I’m rooting more for Charlton today. Can see why Orient would be the neutrals favourite. They haven’t been in tier two for decades and came very close not so long back before going into meltdown. Both cracking clubs btw.
  13. I love Hazel.Get presenting something over here please
  14. Definitely seems a tad more toned down this year.A good thing i think
  15. I can see a see a lot of professionals being made redundant going forward. On the other hand I bet roofers will still be tiling using nails and working on scaffolding that’s been erected by a human. The day there is a mass produced robot that has the physical strength and intelligence to carry out the duties of a human care worker,is the day we are all retired btw
  16. Congratulations to Aldershot on winning the FA Trophy today.Shame it came at the expense of a fairy tale My thoughts are with the good people of Aldershot and Farnham who I am sure are getting right royally rat arsed this evening
  17. I think the next breakaway attempt will be made by the usual suspects plus 4/6 others.A 48 team strong European competition split into 4 conferences or zones, with a huge play-off at the end of the season. One of the main criteria for membership will be priority use of a 50000 + Stadium.
  18. Non league play-offs are brutal. Not even a chance to catch your breath and they’re over.
  19. Just looked it up and yes 42 points each season. We did end up third bottom in 86/87.19th spot going into the newly formed playoff system. Good point about Taylor.I seem to remember that a close season reset and money spent on experience and all would be well.Losing 5 and 4 nil i the first two games scuppered any optimism. I remember the crowd turning against Levein Going back to my op that people not remembering Hamilton.Having read these pages for a good few years now.Rarely does that mid eighties side get a mention.Good players like Ian Wilson,Ian Banks, Bobby Smith and even Steve Lynex.Andy Peake being the exception. The sad thing is that many who did go in those dark days are now dead
  20. It’s the reason Bryan Hamilton never gets mentioned in the worst manager threads No one remembers him!!
  21. Feel for Plymouth as they have fought hard since the manager change
  22. Plus promotion will mean having more chance of keeping hold of the likes of Small etc.Oxford United look just about safe now and although they were well organised last season, didn’t look world beaters by any stretch Managing Southampton in the PL is starting to look like mission impossible so not the major disaster it first looked like for NJ
  23. Well I was half joking but tbh I would have him over RvN any day,any league any country.
  24. Great great win today.Still need to beat Wrexham and hope Lincoln turn up in 12 days time.Burton still fighting for their lives obviously. It’s a shame Charltons charge came a game or two too late. Still a great turnaround from last season.NJ done a great job
  25. Give Pards a bell.Comes across really well when he’s stood in on TalkSport
