  1. Special mention for Peter Eastoe
  2. He gets an easy ride on these pages which is a bit weird
  3. I thought they used to announce the attendance around the 80th minute mark. They would also say including c amount of away fans.Pretty sure most clubs still do this. Which is why the current tactic is like you said.Pathetic
  4. With Sheffield Wednesday getting beat every week it’s likely a 50 + points survival target
  5. Historically our current situation should be no surprise.Whenever a provincial club punches above it’s weight,or goes up through the leagues,it nearly always ends badly.VERY QUICKLY.I can only think of Cloughies Forest who managed to stabilise themselves after huge trophy wins and continued to have a decades worth of relative success as the exception.
  6. I see where you’re coming from but I think the clever way to go about it is to go the collective bonus route.Huge extra’s for higher league finishes and good cup runs etc.Even that can have it’s disadvantages, but at least you don’t get left with an over paid squad that you can’t move along if things go pear shaped. Easy to be wise after the event. At the time, offering good basic pay contracts would have put the club in pole position when competing for players signature’s. All good until it goes wrong.Brighton/ Bournemouth etc have the advantage of starting from a low base. While Leicester had the difficult task of navigating post title winning seasons. I would imagine it’s quite hard to turn around.Try signing a player and telling them that btw your team mates are all on good basic pay regardless. You though are going to be on half their wages and hope that your team mates put a shift in.Total rebuild required I think.
  7. Well he’s passed the six month point which can be a cut off date.Looks like he’s going nowhere
  8. Did mean to send my condolences about the sad outcome of this.Really need Featherstone up and running again asap. No respite on football matters either.
  9. After match demonstrations, which I’ll add are the most direct and effective way to protest, have to develop organically.Trouble is this side has a habit of pulling off results just in the nick of time to quell the levels of anger required for carpark demos to take place. Chances are they beat Oxford and that just pisses on the parade of any planned demo. It will take 5 or 6 home defeats on the spin and poor away form to get the angry mob galvanised.Mid table seems to be good enough at the minute for those attending.Maybe next season.Or maybe never judging by the current fanbase
  10. Denmark are in the process,or are close to completing the upgrade of their airforce.Replacing their F16’s with the newer, again mainly US built F35’s.They were also going to donate their spare ammo stocks to Ukraine. You couldn’t make this up.
  11. Win the FA Cup this century and down you go.Portsmouth, Wigan,Leicester and now possibly Palace have all hit the skids soon after winning silverware.Same as the League Cup.Birmingham,Swansea and Leicester.Again
  12. It was seeing a toy like this that jogged my memory
  13. ELF. FINA MOBIL and TOTAL petrol stations
  14. Summer 2016.Would you have let Vardy go to Arsenal or would you have broken the clubs wage structure to keep him?
  15. Because I believe we have more chance as a collective force rather than as individuals. As I said it was a master stroke by Thatcher. It forced Labour to prioritise the middle class vote RACE TO THE BOTTOM
  16. Self employment of the trades.Master stroke by Thatcher that was and up there with selling the council housing stock.Thatcher was a level up from world class at divide and rule tactics.Sadly the trades are lost forever and are never ever coming back into the left wing movements fold.Thatcher did the spade work by smashing up the big lump of concrete and Farage and co have got the easier task of shovelling the debris into the wheel barrow. I don’t think the public sector workers are viewed as elites.More as willing servants for the elites. How do we turn this around?
  17. It took one bad transfer window and a season ending injury to Fofana for the whole thing to come crashing down. The big clubs can write off 70M on one flop player. They can sit out of European competition or at least down grade for a season or two and re-group. If Leicester maximised every possible revenue steam they still wouldn’t come close to being able to compete long term. All you end up with is a spiralling wage bill and rapid decline.when a few decision’s go wrong.
  18. It’s a real hotch pot.The Trent end which looks like it going to be the Trent side will have to be colossal.Like I said a real mess of a stadium design,,but I have to admit i quite like it.
  19. Yes, most clubs do this.I think today’s figures are possibly the most blatant I have seen yet.Sunderland used to take the piss by claiming upper thirty thousand crowds when the whole of the bottom tier looked almost empty. I don’t let it bother me as we all have eyes and they are only fooling themselves
  20. Plus they will add on free tickets. That could be anything from a hundred to several thousand, wether they attended or not
  21. Yes,meant Mr Russel Martin not MON who I would love to see back but unlikely to happen
  22. Martin has to pick his next job very very carefully as another failure is the end of him.He would be crazy to come here
  23. All these exsisting and future loans when borrowing money stopped being free.
  24. I’m guessing that buying a club out of administration is a bit easier and cheaper than buying a club in Leicester’s situation. I would argue SW are a more attractive proposition medium term although I read that Hillsboro is falling down in places. On to Leicester. There are so many questions. Is the training ground paid for or is there still money owed? What’s the situation with the ground and future planning permission regarding future expansion? The debt to shares?Thats just for starters. There is bound to be a significant difference in valuation between buyer and seller. It was hard enough to break into the upper echelons of the English game before they put a ceiling on it Waiting for a very wealthy person/s who”s willing to basically chuck a ton of money down the drain maybe a tad more difficult than many seem to think.Don’t forget that the Leicester fairy tale has been done already.
  25. This all day long.He must feel like a spare ***** at a wedding.
