I dunno. The same conversation certainly ran through my social circles just to let it rip through, particularly the young, and that many of those who died were on their way out anyway. Brutal conversation but one I'd expect a government to weigh up. Part of this enquiry should be to establish what may have happened had we 'let it rip' like them in Florida, Sweden, Brazil and India (all of which are, to my knowledge, still in existence)

That's kinda the point. You shouldn't need a test to tell you to do that. And those cautious measures are applicable just as much to a cold as they are covid. I'm amazed that people still enjoy 'grandstanding' with covid
-
So can flu, norovirus a heavy cold, bronchitis, tonsillitis ...none of which we test for
-
Why does anyone still test? Not digging you out personally @WigstonWanderer but, why test for that and not a cold? Or norovirus? Flu? Tonsillitis? I don't get it

Cricket (None Leicestershire County Cricket Club)

Reports then that the hundred may open up to us and Indian investment and Deloitte valuing it way higher than the ECB had thought. I'm amazed. There's no wide public interest. Cricket fans largely despise it. TV viewing figures must be absolutely minimal. There's no real overseas resale value with the IPL and Big Bash and even the Windies League covering all seasons. The rest of the calender is absolutely saturated with international games -
Thanks for pointing it out. I've questioned it myself. But I'm unconcerned. I think it's more in the line of habit; some people need to check if there's a gym on site, or others that there's Aircon, others accessibility things.

A bit offbeat this, but I've noticed both skyscanner and Flightradar have started referring to east mids as Nottingham east mjds again. I emailed flightradar who temporarily changed it back but have since reverted to using Nottingham. I simply won't use the airport if that name gets used. I'll just use Brum.

The thought of giving up alcohol is, for me, unthinkable. I crave it in the evenings. Every single day. Without fail. If arriving late at a destination late at night, I've usually googled ahead to find out where I can grab a drink, so as to avoid panicking. Or ring ahead at a hotel to make sure the bar is still open. Yet, once I have had 2 or 3 drinks, the craving is fulfilled. I'm out. Which I guess deletes that need to jack it in as it's done in moderation

Highcross really struggling, int it? Shops closing left right and centre. Not surprised. 90% of my clothes shopping is done online now. Nip into town once in a blue moon. Shopping has to be an experience now. Stratford has it and bull ring has it but chucking a turtle bay and waganamas ain't enough to proved an 'experience'

It's a really complex conundrum. I like him. And defensively.from set pieces he's a god send. But Wout Faes is on another level. Vestergaard is playing an almost unique quarterback role. And we need pace or a.left footer in that third slot. The thing in his favour is Vestergaard is off in the summer (or even January if we got offered money) and I personally would invest more efforts in a.okayer who has years left with us Edit, tbh, he's well above Coady (who I have never really rated) in skill set..apart from Leadership, Coady was always an incongruous sorta signing)

Lidl/Starbucks car park on upperton road bridge. Every possible nationality seems to hang out there and almost all with a complete lack of road/car park etiquette. It's appalling. Taxis waiting on the zebra crossing. Sudden stops as drivers take an absolute age to select a space. Others insistent on using the nearest space to shops and prepared to wait and hold everyone up indefinitely. Driving on wrong side. Throwing debris out of window. Never ever a wave of thanks Today was the tin lid. I beckoned an obese female couple across the zebra crossing, no wave of thanks tho!. Meanwhile the car approaching the other way couldn't be arsed to stop and nearly killed them.

Can't assist with fuerteventura but I usually end up at a supposed 'chavvy' resort at least once a year. I find the chav places are a) usually located around the best beaches and scenery b) there are ALWAYS diamonds in the rough. Basically, go to the places the riff raff don't and you'll find a gem. Plus, you know, it's holiday. I'm no way too snobbish for an occasional English breakfast or late night Pina colada in karaoke bar compered by a foul.mouthed northern drag queen

Mate, I'm fuming too. But it's kinda why football is great. Middlesbrough haven't got a player who'd make our 25 man sqaud, let alone our bench. We were better than them all over the pitch. Won our individual battles. Restricted them to just two proper chances, both from set pieces. Yet they won and even more amazing, we can't have too many complaints that they did.. Mad game, innit?
-
Exactly. Wout Faes in particular was absolutely impeccable. Great goalkeeping again from Mads. I thought mavididi looked sharp. Thought it was JJs best performance so far. There was a 20.minute spell in the second half were we close (but not close enough) to scintillating. Kels x 2, Mavidid x 1, KDH x1 and Fatawu x 1 all missed good chances in that spell..plus additional half chances from kels,.mavididi and KDH They scored an extraordinary goal out of nothing. They literally offered zero. Personally - and I've said this all season - I'd go with two up top and drop a winger. Certainly in those phases where we are on top and need to put the foot on the neck.
-
It's not shite. We look classy and comfortable (bar those last 2 mins) and if we step up a gear as I expect, we'll win
-
Loving the Middlesbrough coverage appears to be radio coverage too. The listeners texting in seem to be unbelievably negative. 'we'll be torn apart' '0-7' amongst my faves so far
-
Interesting team. Lacks pace on the break, but replaced with craft in terms of McAteer and Ricky

Fortunately I suppose I have had a pretty uneventful life in terms of tragedy, as that Middlesbrough 3-3 is amongst the worst moments in my life!!! -

Every single season there's a 4-2 ....might pop a tenner on it -

A win today I reckon puts the whole tin lid on the thing, a bit like the Norwich game. Chasing pack are desperate for a wobble. If we avoid that, bounce back both our players and opposing players know resistance is futile. We'll slip up occasionally but we all know we'll just motor on regardless. Hope we don't lose then! -
As a layman, it would seem quicker and cheaper to remodel the sidings at knighton than rebuild the northern spur. Then lay a third track down as the 'slow lane' for that final stretch to Leicester station alongside the midland mainline. The councils could offer to take on that cost making the project business viable Hard to believe an entire national rail network was essentially set up from scratch to everything (and more) we have today in a 30-50 year period. Tunnels, bridges, stations, depots, sidings, viaducts - land acquired, technology developed, designed and built and ready for use...yet nowadays a minor upgrade of an existing track takes well over a decade
-
Obvs not an engine man but I've 100% been into leicester station from london from the north side (via Corby, Oakham detour) and then it depart northwards, with the driver swapping ends. Surely a similar manoeuvre would be doable
-
If the freight carrying all that quarry stone can operate without the knighton curve, why can't a passenger train? Surely all that freight don't only go southwards? The councils - city, county and NW Leicestershire - should get involved here to bulldoze this through

I get that and i find him a frustrating player (not least as he can't stay fit) but a drop down in standard and acting as a deputy to Wilf, I really think you'd be hard pushed to expect stronger back up in the championship -

Praet playing understudy to Wilf for the rest of the season is what will determine if we get 100+ points or not. Casadei showed last week that one single weak link in the machine will act as our kryptonite
