Glad it is finally done. Disappointed he’s made noises about staying and then decided to move on. At the end of the day that’s football unfortunately, and in the real world, nobody would bat an eyelid at moving on to a more ‘prestigious’ role. I actually think he’ll do well there with technically better players overall and a much stronger squad. I’m more concerned where it leaves us than Chelsea. The obsession with ‘progressive possession football’ would indicate it won’t be someone like Moyes. However in the situation we find ourselves in, my preference would be an experienced manager/coach, that will make us hard to beat, and knows how to grind out points. Doesn’t have to be pretty football for me, the most important thing is to keep us up and build the foundations going forward. It’s certainly never dull supporting this club!!

Announced Monday according to Sky. The S*n saying he’ll go after McAtee from Man City 🤣. That’ll get the Chelsea fans excited 🤣

What might have been. Really kicked on since going to Italy, fair play to him -

Loved it when we went in March. Crazy, full of life and passion. The scooters are something else 🤣.

Just landed back from a few Days in Brussels. Managed to do some trips to Brugge, Antwerp and Ghent. Even managed to make some chocolate whilst we were there 👍

I like him, think he could be great for us, but £20m is very steep given his age.

Sounds awesome. Would love to see more of Croatia. Zagreb was an interesting place, Plitvice lakes was absolutely incredible, you’ll love it. Felt a real sense of peace when I went 18months ago.

Who do you want for next season in the PL

For me, we need to get back to what made us successful in the first place, buying relatively low and selling for the max value we can. The longer you stay in the top division, the harder it gets, but where we find ourselves now, it’s definitely something we need to get back to. Difficult not knowing what we’ll be able to spend, but I would be looking at the likes of: Ronnie Edwards Albert Groenbak Smith Rowe (loan if able) Fabio Carvalho (loan) Gus Hamer Hlozek (loan) Fatawu - obligation Outs: KDH - not a want but seems inevitable Faes - could fetch a reasonable fee Daka - like him (one of the few), but if we can recoup a fee, then sell. Praet - Free Albrighton - Free Iheanacho - Free Thomas - Free (if out of contract) Ward - if anyone daft enough or dream mutual termination We’ll likely need another wide option or two but not sure what’s out there in the market that’s affordable or available on a free. It’s certainly going to be an interesting window -
Would be a good move for him even if they don’t go up through the playoffs. Needs a fresh start, and bar a couple of performances, he’s never stood out to me as an academy player likely to kick on here. Should’ve got a loan move a season or two back for me.

This is true, I’d still think they’d have been in with a good chance next year. His stock will be high at that level after the season he’s had.
-
Mad decision for me. I’d have thought the 3 coming down are nowhere near as strong as us, Leeds and Southampton dropping last year. They had a great season and if they kept him, they’d have had a great chance at top six again next year. Maybe too reliant on the loan players last campaign, a lot of work on to replace the likes of Zaroury, Delap, Carvalho etc
-
I wasn’t convinced either I must admit, but although we were well off it Saturday, I thought he was excellent. A real leader which we’ll need next year, fight, graft, technique, cool finisher. Vardy was a late bloomer, maybe Szmodics is too. Whoever we sign will be a gamble. If there’s an interest in a loan for Cannon, could bring the price down a bit, making him a more viable/palatable option
-
Blackburn also interested according to the above. Am aware he’s not a Preston player 👍. Was very impressed with him on Saturday (playing for Blackburn ), quick and aggressive, played on the shoulder and good finisher.

Deal for Szmodics plus Cannon on loan perhaps?
