That’s the difference. At this level a bit of extra quality does nothing when you’re lacking any fight.

It would be interesting to see where lot of those stats come from. My guess is late second half, where we’re chasing the game.

Nothing to do with the kids, I’d prefer to see Page and Monga play. It’s seeing Soumare, Vestergaard and Thomas on the pitch still….. I’d rather us play Hamza, Nelson and Coulibaly.

As long as we play Vestergaard and Thomas, we will continue to lose football matches. We can’t defend in transition, every time an opposition counter attacks us, we are vulnerable to conceding, it’s the weakest part of our game, and it’s arguably 90% of this leagues strongest. Our CM doesn’t press, so we always lose that battle, and then because the defence is set so high, we leave acres of grass for the opposition to hurt us. We could have prime Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and Messi leading the line today and we would still lose. If you can’t defend, then you don’t win football games and it’s as simple as that. Charlton are very strong down the right, they’ve an excellent full back and a very good right midfielder. It’s a simple game plan for them. Get the ball, play balls into our left back position, and they will get easy chances on goal. Marti has to see this, we’ve got to start playing either a back three, or try Coulibaly at left back…… because at present, that defence leaks goals. Charlton 4 - 0 Leicester. Easy.

I agree, I don’t blame Marti at all, o think he has been hung out to dry by some of the squad. He’s trying to pick the better players, but they just don’t give a ****. This club is so rotten at the moment.

We will. Marti is already looking like Ruud. He’s just going to pick the same team week in week out until he eventually gets sacked. Probably rotating that CM….

They will just want it more, that’s literally all any team will need to beat us this season, just want it more and we’ve lost, it’s as simple as that. Which is why, I think we will get relegated. Just look at us, no new signings bar a 3rd choice goalkeeper, and no signs of any signings coming in at all….. we’ve got a core of the squad who don’t want to be here, and a massively fractured fan base. It doesn’t matter who you have on paper, if you turn up anywhere in the league and can’t be arsed, you’ll get turned over…. Not through quality, but because the championship is about fight, it’s about wanting it more than your opponent, which is why it’s such a competitive league. We simply don’t have any fight whatsoever so we’re easy pickings. I genuinely can’t see where our next three points are coming from….. this season will just be a repeat of last season, and I can’t see anything other than a relegation fight.

We will see the same lethargic performance, of rolling the ball side to side, and leaving acres of grass for Charlton to exploit. I think what’s more likely to happen is, we get relegated, and lose Monga and Page for a pittance. And end up on the same mess in a lower league….. with the same incompetence leading the club.
