Will FFP decision affect our performances ?
Deeg67 replied to marcymarc666's topic in Leicester City Forum
Once the narrative sets like concrete, you don't get folks in this place to change it. And most of them had decided on Cooper before he even got the job. -
More than most here I think Cooper is actually a pretty competent manager and deserves more slack than he gets here. But the Pereira thing is indeed very weird. If he's simply not playing based on perceived merit that alone is weird. I wonder if there's something else going on behind the scenes.

Our fanbase is like reading Winnie the Pooh but every character is Eeyore.
-
The Marrakesh Mahrez.
-
We were far better in possession when he came on, that's for certain, though Fulham was protecting by then.
-
Haji has played much more as a striker than on the wing over his career. That's not a problem. Not convinced Cov would be keen on selling him though. No question he proved himself as a productive player in the Championship, and internationally. Very physical - strong, fast. I don't see any obvious reason he couldn't make the step up to the PL.

Cooper’s football isn’t going to win any beauty contests (and either is he) but he will get a lot out of whatever he’s given to work with. And his players will fight for him. His whole career reflects that. For the desperate scrap for survival this season is likely to be, we could do a lot worse for a manager.
-
Couple more performances like that and this place will be fill of folks who knew all along he was a good player.
-
Lookman is way too big for us now, not a chance.
-
Skipp is a good player. And his help is not contingent on other signings - he's just a good player who can help in the middle of the pitch no matter what the game plan is.
-
Wow. Mauricio Pochettino is taking the USMNT job, A coup for the USSF here - they actually got one right (and ponied up the dough). By national team standards especially, Poch is a great manager. We have enough talent to make a decent run in 2026. More American players as European first division regulars than ever in our history. Win it? No - but especially as a host nation, a semifinal run is the sort of ambition they should have under Pochettino.
-
One or the other and Zaha is the plan, more likely.
-
If Zaha is on the bench for 80 minutes our squad is much better than it looks like.
-
95% of this place has already given up on Cooper whether Ricky starts or not.
-
Zaha is a proven, competent PL attacking player. We're in a bind this season with the impending points deduction and financial restrictions hanging over us. Relying on a few loans to somehow survive is a smart strategy.
-
Tons of people on here act like 3 is something terrible when in fact it would be *****ing great.
-
Well, after selling Dewsbury-Hall we're in need of a new public school boarding house in the squad.
-
Yeah, would much rather not have a better chance of staying up if it means not helping someone else, right? Buonanotte is a genuine talent in a position of great need. No-brainer, loan or otherwise.
-
RIP, Shakey. Telling that most of the tributes follow the same path - good coach, but an incredible human being.
-
More than a little bit and less than a lot.
-
Well, he's played as a 10 a fair bit and done quite well.
-
He may see Nelson as a 10.
-
Scored an incredible 97th-minute winner for them against Bournemouth at the end of the 22-23 season (after setting up the tying goal) but has barely featured since. Certainly has the talent.

Southgate steps down as England manager
Deeg67 replied to foxfanazer's topic in General Football and Sport
Credit to him for gracefully exiting on a relative high rather than dragging this out. Time for a refresh. -
I think the expectations for the calibre of manager who'd take the job are wildly ulrealistic. Potter would be fine. A solid, competent top tier club manager is the best one can reasonably hope for an international job. And he'd certainly be an upgrade on Southgate.
