Obviously never heard of the Raiders (NFL) eh? I lived the first four decades of my life in the U.S. and attended countless professional sporting events in numerous sports. While it's true there's generally so segregation in seating like there is with European/Latin American football or Japanese baseball (for totally different reasons) I certainly saw plenty of fights. And in my experience security was always pretty quick to descend on the scene.

He would be beyond fantastic but the USSF is incredibly cheap and I don’t think he’d take the job even if they paid him what he asked.

Speaking for USMNT fans everywhere, our long national nightmare is over. Unfortunately the guy who hired and rehired Berhalter (Crocker, who skipped the Copa to attend the Euros) is still there. So prepare for incoming MLS retread coach. Let the nightmare begin anew!
-
What a great look for the USMNT with Jesse Marsch (who wanted the job) told to plss off and then taking Canada to the semis, while Berhalter's brother engineered his rehiring and the team got blown out in the group stage.

KDH is an industrious footballer but I can't see him cutting it at Chelsea. He'd have been better off going to Brighton.

Shh, this space is reserved for jingoism.

Bro, you said the quiet part out loud.

I think Kristiansen is a real player, and he was never getting a sniff under Enzo. Cooper may have him as one of the first names on the team sheet.

Okazaki interviews, comments and pictures from the Japanese media

Great move for Shinji, one of the all-time great guys. Hope he succeeds. -
Relocating his locker could prove quite expensive.
-
It’s silly that Cooper faces so much hostility here because one of his career stops was Forest. I don’t think he’ll ever get a fair shake from a big chunk of the fandom if he gets the gig.
-
Some of the hostility towards Cooper here obviously comes from the Forest connection. But he did really did remarkably well there considering what a dysfunctional organization it is. And if you want a gaffer who’s going to develop young talent - which is the most likely way for LCFC to be sustainably competitive in the PL - his credentials are pretty clear. As you say, there are far worse candidates out there.
-
van Nistelrooy is an interesting candidate, but I hear he’s not too polite.
-
If Chelski (or anybody) want to give us 30 million for Mads I’d be all over that. We’re going to be facing a lot more inbound traffic next season and Stolarczyk is the better shot-stopper.
-
Enzo may be the sloppy seconds for whichever and Chelsea and ManU doesn’t get McKenna.
-
Well, if Kompany can get the Bayern job I have to correct myself on this one - who knows. Bayern is certainly the more prestigious job and Enzo makes the stronger case. The Pep aura is not to be lightly dismissed.
-
Chelsea isn’t hiring Enzo. That’s not to say he won’t get poached but I don’t think they have any serious interest.

Claudio Ranieri retires from football management
Deeg67 replied to stu's topic in Leicester City Forum
Great that he went out showered by adoration from players and fans for keeping them up. -
Claudio hailed as a hero as Cagliari manages to stay in Serie A. One more memory in an amazing up-and-down career. https://www.goal.com/en-in/lists/watch-ex-leicester-boss-claudio-ranieri-drenched-cagliari-serie-a-safety-premier-league-title-winner-another-chapter-career-story/bltabc0e766359d1231#cs67a4bd834f78e173

It should be an entertaining final if nothing else. Neither of these sides are going to park the bus and both have creative players and finishers. In the end I think Leeds is favored on Farke vs. Martin if nothing else. And apart from their appalling collapse over the last three weeks of the season, they were the better side for most of it.

Second legs and single game playoffs are always going to be better, because teams know what they have to do to win. Desperation makes for better football.
-
And this is a surprise? Playoffs are almost always turgid affairs. Championship all the more so, with the spectre of losing Premier League promotion hanging over teams. And the first leg of two-game playoffs all the more. The problem is the mentality is almost always “you can’t win the tie in the first leg, but you can lose it”. Which is basically true, more or less, so it’s not like you can really blame clubs for thinking that way. Especially for Leeds (who’ve been a shambles defensively of late) and Southhampton, what’s the motivation to take risks away? Farke set up his side to be solid in the center of the pitch (played an extra MF) and stop the bleeding from the past few matches, and he got what he set up for. It was like Norwich tentatively attempted a few forays early and then, when they didn’t break through, decided to just go into a shell and ride it out scoreless with the occasional counter or over the top ball to Sargeant. Awful football in both ties. And entirely predictable.

Because I called out what a horrible game that was? Whatever you need to believe for your world to make sense.
