As good an appointment as we could got, with Röhl not coming. Genuinely optimistic for the season.

Who should be captain next season?

This conversation exposes so many issues with the squad, frankly. Days gone by you could point to 3-4 leaders. Now we have to caveat each suggestion. -
Kind of general news, kind of sport but Barcelona golden boy has been accused of insensitivity for hiring dwarves to perform at his 18th birthday party and may be investigated by prosecutors. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cn5kpd4y2yvo This is just bonkers. They got a statement from one of the entertainers who said they did a show for an hour and then enjoyed the party. I've seen prominent dwarf actors complain Peter Dinklage set them back by shaming Disney for Snow White, to the point where they took out the dwarves. Did nobody think to ask the dwarves if they were happy doing their job and getting paid to be at a lad's 18th?

Given that the headline act is a drag show reimagining Section 28, this isn't the Rees-Mogg wet dream it initially appears. I know Grantham, having lived nearby. I absolutely cannot stand a lot of things her government did but the simple fact is she was our first female PM, elected in the Tories of all parties. One thing I think people need to learn is balanced rhetoric. She can be both a pioneering inspiration and an absolute car crash of a politician at the same time

Yesterday was a sweat bath. My local parkrun had some hardcore nutters out - quite a few travelling ones. I didn't force myself until the second half but still just shy of top 40. Absolutely having that. Damn thing works out at 4.3k though and I run round the edges to make up the distance. -
I thought it was a game against Wimbledon? That's always what's been in my head

I mean, regardless, Martí should be coming in and definitely tell Rudkin to sell a few players
-
What, the unnecessary sequel that nobody wanted?
-
What if he manages one for the first half and then switches to the other for the second?

Relative is a lifelong hoop and I've got some work links to the club. Martí is well regarded and did a great job after some rocky years, where League One looked a dead cert. Would be happy with this.

The heat saps you. How African runners do it, I'll never know. I'm inching down to 26 minutes flat. Did 3 miles in 25:50 - but that included having to cross roads. So I'd like to think it's very doable. -
Should the manager be appointed today and start work tomorrow, that gives them about 22/23 working days to be ready for the season. Absolutely mental.

So we got rid of Ruud with no one lined up, just before pre season? Surely a statement of "we are in discussions but will say nothing further, as they are still ongoing" would do? Or are they that bad at this?
-
I really don't think the two big League One sides will make the impact some do. Birmingham at least have recent experience at this level but the step up to Champo is pretty big. It's easy to assume with "the right signings" but the truth is you've always got 3 Prem teams, plus maybe 2 on parachute payments who know how to yo yo. There'll also be a lot of people baying for Wrexham blood. Everyone I know wants to see them given a kicking.

At least we don't have to refer to No.5 anymore and Arsenal fans can shut up defending him -
Tbf, given the Jota news, I think everyone is probably leaving announcements for the weekend or Monday.
-
Surely, given the time we've had, they'd want to get whoever in for start of pre season?
-
Jesus christ I'm genuinely shocked. That's horrific.
-
They put out a statement it's personal. Fair enough but maybe don't come in?

Saying he's "hugely admired" is just like at school when you'd ask a mate to ask someone out for you

Lifetime ban for you

Hang on he's my age? On that basis - no. Football managers should always be older than me.

I saw Bob Vylan years ago as I'm punk scene adjacent. They're from the absolutely cringe British school of punk that goes for easy wins of "down with the Tories" and sounds dreadful. What Americans did with the genre was far more interesting. We should stick to metal, dance and indie.
