  1. I’m really trying to stay positive but honestly with either Gerrard or Lampard at the helm I’d really struggle mentally to back the club after 25 years. They are marquee names, not clever managerial decisions. I’d rather we looked at a Marsch figure with something to prove over two managerial has-beens (yes already!) My number one’s Potter but would take a Russell, or even our old pal Pearson - especially if he wants to bring Alex Scott along with him!
  2. I’d absolutely love getting Potter in! Great opportunity for both parties to rebuild. Can 100% see him stepping in for Southgate for the England job down the road, but he’s a steady pair of hands. 100% the kind of manager we need, also has enough experience to give Top some much needed steering on footballing matters.
  3. Not sure if mentioned, Dyer’s header against Villa was everything that 15/16 squad was about, legendary stuff!
  4. OOH YEAH WE GOT A POINT BABY, GAME ON! #FOXESNEVERQUIT
  5. I’ve spent £40 to appear as the sad forlorn man with a thousand yard stare at the end of the match, and I will appear as the sad forlorn man with a thousand yard stare at the end of the match.
  6. 170+ likes, not bad going - my shit usually just gets flushed down the loo.
  7. Did I watch a completely different player?! He looked up for it as soon as he came on, he tracked back brilliantly unlike Barnes and Tielemans who were giving balls away for fun, and he got into good positions. Much more vitriol should be going Maddison’s way, he wasted countless opportunities tonight to have played someone else in.
  8. Secured the win for us tonight, couldn’t get in touch with the Buddhist mad lads that blessed the KP in 2016 but reckon this is the next best thing
  9. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck, here we go - the latest must-win match of the season!
  10. Nightmare isn’t it! Do hope that this means he can spend more time on strength and conditioning and come back stronger and fitter. Didn’t feel like we got the proper JJ last time he came back.
  11. #ManLikeSoyuncu Firmly believe Rodgers is a piss poor man-manager, didn’t support Soyuncu in his downturn in form post-Euro 2020, Ward post-World Cup. We have so many talented players that didn’t grow under him with the exception of Maddison, but you can attribute his growth to his own drive.
  12. I agree with most of this, however Ward was playing great prior to the World Cup, and at a much higher standard than Iversen currently. Genuinely believed were it not for Wales shocking performance he’d have carried that momentum. Much like Euro ‘20 for Soyuncu, he seems to have lost confidence and Rodgers wasn’t enough of a man motivator to bring him back.
  13. Absolute bag fumble losing Marsch, Championship is an absolute certainty with Smith. Throwback manager in the absolute worst way. ****ing Rodgers.
  14. Marsch party! Hope we get him in. Depending on tomorrow’s result he’ll either have a year to rebuild the team in the Champs, or a relegation dog fight. Rate him to do a decent job with either, but wouldn’t hold it against him if we go down and hopefully the rest of the fans see it the same way. Rodgers left the club and the players in such a shit state.
  15. I’m not on the Socials, but I haven’t seen an article about the players thanking Rodgers, any of them post anything? If not, shows how toxic Rodgers’ relationship with the squad had gotten - but you won’t hear any of the pundits or journalists talk about it.
  16. Don’t listen to me I liked Adrian Silva
  17. Not sure but Marsch will sort it out. Ward Castagne - Soyuncu - Souttar - Vikky Ndidi - Tielemans Tete - Madders - Barnes Ian Nacho
  18. Let’s Marsch on into a new day
  19. Hass couldn’t build a brothel in Amsterdam, we all saw how he did with his tenure at Southampton. I’d rather we went for a manager with potential rather than a Rodgers repeat.
  20. Outstayed his welcome, genuinely wish him the best as we had some cracking times. A little bit miffed that if we do go down his reputation won’t be as tarred. Absolutely fuming his pundit pals are saying he wasn’t backed. Buying players he wanted such as Perez at a complete premium meant we shifted away from our philosophy. The initial outlay and wages overtime for the Perez’s in the squad completely hamstrung our last two windows, in addition to the impact of the pandemic. Wish more pundits had a backbone. I’m not annoyed at Rodgers the man, but Rodgers the manager completely suck any atmosphere out the stadium, any desire out of the players, and any invention out of the squad.
  21. Anyone saying Hassenhutl is not allowed to contribute, three Southamptons from in and around the 9-0 squad would be a joke. Also, if we get Lampard or Gerrard I’m staying away from the club. Neither manager has a clue and I’m not putting my money into tickets for their dross. Marsch would be my top pick, think he has the ability to rebuild a squad and get them playing exciting football. He didn’t do great at Leeds but he’s got great pedigree, and walking into that job was incredibly hard given how the club had essentially been rebuilt to suit Bielsa. Also, realistically relegation’s a serious possibility now, if we do sign someone they’d need to be willing to put the hard graft in next season and Marsch will do that.
  22. Long term would be very happy with Marsch or Potter, although the latter’s incredibly unlikely. Wouldn’t be against a gamble with Carrick.
