Crystal Palace (A) - Pre Match Thread (April 1st)
ScrumpyJack replied to Jattdogg's topic in Leicester City Forum
Looking forward to this one, Jan-Mar was a tough run of fixtures. With the break and the next three fixtures it’s a great opportunity to pull a run together and get some points back on the board. -
Might be able to revitalise Vestergaard and Bertrand and get us a few 0-9s on the board
-
Not once yesterday outside FS.
-
Absolutely dead, the worst part is if you’re singing outside FS you’re treated like an idiot. I wonder if it’s because we don’t have as many staple chants as we did a few years ago? Ones like “Dilly Ding”, “Claudio give us a wave” and “Leicester boys are we” would go off intermittently throughout the game. Feel like we don’t have club songs like that take at the minute. Either that or new generation Leicester fans are boring bastards.
-
Not sure Fekir counts as a journeyman with his grand total of two clubs. Also, solely youth isn’t what won us the title. There was a solid mix of 30ish players (Huth, Morgan, Fuchs, Simpson, Okazaki) and great scouting (Mahrez, Kante, Vardy).

Go on lad! A lot of the anti-Top sentiment showed how fickle some fans have become. -

Thauvin’s available on a free again, Tigres had to bin a foreigner from their team to free up space for a new signing. 29, right winger, left-footed. Didn’t have the best spell in Mexico but was a beast at Marseille. Don’t feel like we’ve made good use of the free agent market at all recently, but could Thauvin be our 21/22 Tony Cottee? Or potentially move on to Lyon to free up a Tete.
-
I don’t think we’ve set up enough times to play to Perez’s strengths, but at the same time he hasn’t shown that he warrants having the team geared towards him. If he does move on, wish him the best of luck, square peg in a round hole unfortunately.
-
Dunno what it means but can see Mercury running a “Tete-a-tete” headline at some point if he ever joins
-
I actually think that was a nice touch, I’d much rather have Buddhist Monks walking around blessing the ground compared to a pack of horny foxes and some lads from New Parks.
-
All been part of Rodgers’ master plan this entire time. 1) Make Tielemans feel like Billy big bollocks 2) Avoid discussing his transfer in the media to kick-up interest 3) Send him off to the World Cup 4) Belgium fail because they are OAPs - no clubs interested in Tielemans 5) Tielemans enters a short depression 6) 7) Signs a new contract #FourMoreYears

The Glorious Republic of Leicestershire - National Team

From memory Sam Clucas had a fair spell at Leicester as a youth player didn’t he? Has done sod all for a few years but would make up the numbers in midfield. -
Quick update, Rochdale are bottom of League 2 Desperate search for a silver lining continues
-
Any idea how he is getting on? A bit concerned about him at Rochdale. Would’ve been good if he could have got to Mansfield, some players with decent experience there.
-
The midfield looked organised last night, the back and upfront looks dire. Not sure if Rodgers is trying to provide a point about squad depth but just ducking play Soyuncu man.
-
Right I’ve just double doused Citalopram… Very excited to see Soumare play again, looked like he had his head in the game! Although, scared at the prospect of Ndidi at centreback again, he made himself smaller against that Ronaldo shot rather than bigger. ****, may need to triple dose.
-
Get Powell and Stowell back in as a lovable double act
-
I detract my statement, he deserves to start now
-
Anyone got any mates at the game? Would love to see what their ground looks like. TalkSports commentary is decent.
-
Fosse Park has a Flannels now
-
Would be good to see him get a consistent run of starts so we can get a proper view on where he’s at this season. These cameos just aren’t right.
-
I don’t think teams trying / not trying to sign a player is a criteria for a players ability when so much of that is conjecture. He delivered brilliantly when needed and trusted in 20/21, but he’s not had the same run in the squad since. He got something like a goal or assist every 100 mins in 20/21, that’s a phenomenal output IMO.
