Our best ever period is 2015-2021. He was here for the majority of that. What did your 2 suggestions achieve here? Top 5 finishes in England's top league? European runs? Which of them scored in a european quarter final? Id suggest it's you with the blinkers on, esepcially if you're trying to stop a genuine debate

King is a coach who didn't want the job, doesn't want to manage, and has a completely different manner than Fuchs. You can't use King as a blanket response to any ex player ever managing a club!!

And you said there were plenty better, only to name one bloke who played when the sport was miles off the standard of today, and the club weren't competing in Europe on the regular. Ricardo was a class player during the club's best ever period. I've never even heard of the fella you mentioned in 30 years of following the club, and you've not given even a hint of what he was like, nor any of the "plenty" others better than RP.

He would. Up and coming manager who's taken a club in free fall and saved them. ...because we've lost every single leader the club once had. All the more reason to bring one back!
-
Who are you thinking?
-
A bloke from the 1950s?! I mean that's a long way to go back for your first example. And I'm pretty certain that, objectively, Ricardo would be a better player. What was Norman like? Can you add some others? I genuinely had no idea we'd had so many top class RBs.

But in context... We're not going to get a manager with an incredible win ratio. Unless it's some random caretaker, like RVN. And Fuchs would certainly be better than him!

Not quite as dramatic (or unfair) but I got an 18 month ban for selling a ticket on here (at face value) to a game I couldn't attend in 202..3? Was a Thursday night PL game and I just couldn't make it. Thought it was a nice touch giving it to a fan (at a time when KP tickets were in demand!). I'd never done it before and it was before official resale stuff was widely known about. They were total assholes about it. We barely won a PL game at the KP after that. In fact, take out the Maresca season and we're probably in single figures for league wins at home since. There is a weird sense of comeuppance in that respect, but it's also just massively depressing. I've said it before and I'll say it again: you simply couldn't destroy a football club this deeply and quickly if you tried. From top to bottom, we are just rotten. It's really quite the achievement. Not tried out the podcast before but going to start now.

I think a poll on who should stay might be more interesting. For me: Page, Souttar, Nelson, and some of our other youth fringe players and loanees to fluff up the squad.
-
He loves the club, has masses of personality, is clearly driven to succeed in management and passionate about the game. It's a small sample size but early signs are highly impressive and given the manager will have to work with youth, who better than one of our own greats? The thought of Fuchs as manager actually excites me, and that's more than can be said for the usual shite we bring in. Go for it, I say. Better than some failing journeyman or agency connection.

Never heard of him
-
Well he's the best I've seen in 30 years. Who did i miss before 1996?
-
Scouting database says no
-
He made us harder to beat, but couldn't buy a win. With the players available, it was ultimately yet another poor managerial appointment. He's ultimately got us relegated, so of course he shouldn't stay. It's just a shame that we'll hire someone worse, but at least it's obvious enough that Rowett isn't the one.

Surely the best right back we've ever had.

My worry is we'll have such minimal interest in our experienced (expensive) squad players that we'll be forced to cash in on any decent youngsters we have. Could be a painful summer ahead -
Surely we'll just use any spare kit left over from this season.
-
Time to kick on!!! Season starts here
-
Same as Jannick Vestergaard. Used Seagrave all summer for his pups whilst on his holidays. Levels.
-
That's cause he looked 50 even back then!
-
To be fair we did bring in a striker. The fact that he was somehow worse than Daka and Ayew is perhaps the perfect illustration of our recruitment over the past half decade
-
Yep, yep, yep, whaaaaat?!
-
Souttar from centre half should do the trick
-
Forgot centre backs could play like that. Seemed desperate not to concede goals. Refreshing.
