  1. The game after 'Spider' Kalac had dropped several howlers against WBA (league) and Bolton (league cup), Kevin Poole was restored between the sticks. We played Watford and won 1-0 (Big Iwan with the goal) but, to me, it's memorable for an incredible save from Poole, late on, where he tipped a point-blank range header from Kevin Phillips onto the crossbar. When I bought the season review VHS, I couldn't believe that there wasn't even a replay of it (let alone slowed down from an alternative angle!)
  2. Thought his attitude, after coming on, was the turning point. Really fired up the crowd with that tackle on halfway and didn't let his head drop after a couple of misses.
  3. To the tune of 'Agadoo' (classy, I know!) Fa-ta-wu-wu-wu, A magician on the wing, Fa-ta-wu-wu-wu, He'll make all of Leicester sing, On the left, On the right, Beat defenders just for fun, On the move, All the time, Just watch Fatawu run.
  4. Top 5 Super Stevie Claridge Elliott Muzzy Albrighton Riccy P
  5. Nailing my colours to the 'Copacabana' mast: His name is Enzo, Enzo Maresca, He came here to manage the Leicester, Enzo, Enzo Mar-e-e-esca, With Enzo and Vardy, (subject to Vardy playing 😄) We'll all have a party, It's Enzo... ...Mar-es-ca.
  6. My thoughts exactly. It's like with the Fox Leisure ones - surely they could produce more authentic looking numbering..
  7. One swallow doesn't make a porn star but Soumare has clearly responded better to a fortnight of Smith and co than he had to 18 months of Rodgers. Excellent in the 2nd half However, Soyuncu was IMMENSE - almost flawless.
  8. Clean forgot about Naughton - he was brilliant! 👏
  9. Just for a bit of fun, what is the best XI you can make from players who only played for Leicester for a single season (or less)? I'd go with: GK Marton Fulop RB Kerrea Gilbert LB Ben Thatcher CB Curtis Davies CB Ben Mee CM Mark Draper CM N'Golo Kante CM Esteban Cambiasso RF Marcus Bent LF Ademola Lookman CF Les Ferdinand (Centre mid was easy, centre-back less so...)
  10. I'm not sure we need to...
  11. James, James Maddison, Laa la-la la-la, James, James Maddison, Laa la-laa la la la... To the tune of 'Brown girl in the ring'
  12. Juninho in the 1-3 home loss shortly before the league cup final. We just couldn't get near him.
  13. Albrighton vs. Sevilla. Seemed to happen in slow-motion. Still one of my favourite ever goals.
  14. I think the club captain was Gary Mills but it was during the season we beat Derby in playoffs (and had loads of injuries) so Simon Grayson was temporary skipper. Favourite player, at the time, was probably Grayson too (everyone else seemed be injured! 😄)
  15. Kalac, Pressman, Douglas and Ricardo all make Ward look like prime Buffon in comparison. We've definitely had worse! 😄
  16. I'd argue that would expose the leftback too much (unless you mean Barnes as one of the front two à la Thierry Henry)
  17. Looking at others' suggested XIs it really hammers home the lack of balance in the squad. I think most would agree that Madders and Barnes are our most effective attacking outlets and that all three of our strikers would benefit from playing in a two. How do you fit all four in the same XI without unbalancing the team? IMO, Madders needs to be in a midfield three but then that prevents us from playing with either Barnes or the two up top...
  18. What happened with John Curtis? Don't get me wrong, I remember him being awful for us but I didn't realise there was anything going on behind the scenes with him.
  19. That thread is very good - by the end of the game, I'm not sure any of the players knew what positions they were supposed to be playing or what their roles were. As the thread mentions, Rodgers can't account for individual errors but that's twice now, at home, that he has been 'out-thought' by the opposition manager by tactical tweaks and substitions. It's almost like he'd planned his subs prior to the game ie. give Daka 20mins, make sure Youri comes on etc. no matter what was going on on the pitch...
  20. Depends on the country. When England adapted the old WM formation, they pulled the nos 5 and 6 between the fullbacks to create a back four, whereas Brazil pulled in the 4 and 5 to the left of the three (as did the Netherlands) and Argentina moved the four to rightback and had the 6 and 2 as CBs. Yes, I know, ultra geeky! 🤦‍♂️ I think, as a country, we've adopted the reference to a number 6 being the holding mid from Europe; despite, in England, it being the number 4.
  21. Incredible player; skilful, hard-working, created, scored. IMO, he walks into any 'greatest XI' in my time supporting the club.
  22. Seeing Fofana and Evans playing so well together in Europe has got me thinking about some effective Leicester partnerships. We've had a few during my time: Izzet and Lennon Morgan and Huth Cottee and Heskey Simpson and Mahrez Howard and Fryatt Deane and Dickov Always difficult to define the 'best' but who was/is your favourite? Personally, I loved Cottee and Heskey; almost the perfect match in my opinion - Emile as the battering ram and TC feeding off the pieces.
  23. Might not be decent but how about this... Fofana.m4a
