  1. Mexican standoff between the manager and Board. Will RVN fall on his sword / walk away from a payoff because of his pitiful record - not likely. At the minute we are witnessing a slow motion car crash - and I don’t see any chance RVN can turn around the squad / fans for next season. Expecting the Board to be brave is probably pointless, we drift on and on. Get him gone.
  2. His being so reluctant to make changes and bring in the youth / move out the likes of Faes who will be going / makes me wonder if RVN is trying to force the Club’s hand into sacking him before the seasons end.
  3. Fail to get a result against Southampton and maybe even the diehards will turn ……..or maybe not.
  4. Agree you want goals coming from various sources and maybe the lad Evans can chip in, with Mavadidi and Fatawu but beyond them I don’t see where the goals come from. The midfield lacks a KDH type for instance. A striker who reliable gets somewhere near 20 is a must IMO.
  5. If we are to bounce back immediately we will need a 20 goal striker, question is have we got the funds to bring someone proven in that league or punt on someone overseas. Daka’s race is run.
  6. we all need putting out of our misery
  7. Is that 16 odd defeats now? Get him gone! But this group of players are fookin feeble……lets not let them off the hook either. #mentalitymidgets
  8. Wolves - at one point a relegation rival - now 23 points clear. We are the pits.
  9. Pleasing to see the lads have raised the effort levels to try and give Vards a proper send off
  10. If only you could bin the players and manager and board.
  11. What have we learned today? Still shite. Congrats
  12. Several changes. No Monga. Meh
  13. What does RVN expect to learn (for next season) from this line-up (that he doesn't already know)?
  14. Evidence again why he needs to go.
  15. He hasn’t done anything to suggest he should be given more time, so only finances / compliance with PSR could be a reason to defer putting him out of his misery. I imagine they are stalling as once they communicate they won’t be keeping him on they will feel they need to terminate the contract/ rather than placing him on gardening leave until the end of June.
  16. I don’t have a single preferred manager to replace RVN and as before I don’t think there will be one name all fans agree on but, in terms of attributes they need to: 1. Be able to organise a defence. 2. Be a developmental coach that improves players. 3. Creates a team with an identity. 4. Promotes youth.
  17. Thank you will never be enough. The last of the immortals. Build the statue, rename a stand, withdraw the no. 9 shirt and then some. Gutted.
  18. I thought it underlined our need for a Nigel Pearson type (if not the man himself) as Sporting Director. Would love to see him on the pod.
  19. Rumours mentioned in the latest BSLB pod episode.
  20. As the pod sets out, without changes to our structure it feels like any prospect of success is on us striking gold with a manager who builds the club from foundations upwards (like Nige). So success in spite of the structure not because of it
  21. I think the case for RVN staying is v. hard to make, although I do think he has been let down, probably in terms of backroom staff but definitely new players. Though I could see us being potentially forced into sticking with him if we have left ourselves with no contract / relegation break clause / financial wiggle room. I just don’t see he has done enough in terms of organising the team (in particular the defence) or introducing / integrating youth to suggest he can turn us around.
  22. If PSR is an issue in making a decision on RVN and the Club is stalling / playing for time( until 30-Jun) it wouldn’t surprise me if the owners maintain a wall of silence until the end of the season. Probably only humiliating losses to Ipswich and / or Southampton would force them to announce a decision before.
  23. Latest episode another cracking listen. Really interesting contribution from Jonathan Northcroft. Also discussion around player power / culture very relevant and needs addressing as much as the structure.
