Leicester vs Peterborough United - Pre-Season

The difference in class between Winks, Skipp, Golding and Soumare (yes soumare), Page and Alves is astonishing. Absolutely night and day yet you will still have people claiming that Winks and Skipp arent horrible. -

Actually just dont bother with transfers this season. We have enough talent in our academy, our transfer department isn't good enough to improve on them. Also we have way too many centrebacks, dont need any more. -

Skipp consistently failing to impress may still give baybrooke a chance. I think baybrooke would have done much better in the positions skipp was in. -

He's short but he's a man strength wise, he was able to compete in the duels he had. -

Trust me his ability to run in behind is also good, we just haven't seen that since we cant play down the middle with this dogshit midfield. He will be more than good enough as a lone striker. -

Thought Evans looked tidy. Don't know why one of the best goalscorers in the reserves is being written off as a goalscorer based off 45 mins in preseason. Stick some creativity behind him like El Khannous or fatawu and he will score. -

Im very excited to see Evans making runs in behind only for Skipp and Winks to 'control the tempo' and lay it off to each other only to later lose it in our own half -

Him, Coady, Faes and Vestergaard need to be the first ones to go. I know bad 'uns when I see them and these players have the complete wrong mentality for the club in their own ways. -
Genuinely just let him go on a free. The absolute worst case is him staying and sucking up those ridiculous wages for another year.
-
It must be tough being an "in the know" and trying to give inside information what the club is doing when the executives at the club dont even know what the next steps for the club are.
-
I think his most dangerous positions are down the middle near the box threatening the goal rather than out wide taking on players. Also consider that we're light on strikers and have arguably too many options on the wing and I think that striker is where he should get the most minutes.
-
Jake Evans has everything you would want in a striker. Pace, finishing, technical ability, movement, work rate, directness. I say give him a fair chance to prove that he is a worthy starter for us in pre season and watch him be a key player for us in the championship. If he was 20 years old he would be considered as a more viable option, which is insane as his youth just shows how ridiculous of a talent he is.
-
"We have 2 number ones" in reference to f'ing Schmeichel and Ward. Now Ward isn't even number one at Wrexham. Rodgers has a long list of absolutely ridiculous quotes and that one is right up there.
-
They're all going to be asking for high wages for the championship. Experience always comes at a price
-
If it's not fit for purpose we shouldn't be offering to host a the England women's team in my opinion.
-
Surely if youre going all the way back to 1970 for the best world cup you should go back 1 more for the one that we actually won?

Absolute rubbish. Crystal Palace and Newcastle have just won their first trophies ever/in decades. Historically smaller clubs like Brighton, Bournemouth and Brentford are thriving in the top flight. The dream for small clubs is very much alive and well. As much as it has ever been in fact as TV money has meant that a club's success is no longer about its crowd sizes, it's now about recruitment strategy. Let's be clear, the reason we are in this situation now is not because of PSR, it's not because "we flew too close to the sun" or "we dared to dream" or "we challenged the status quo and they didn't like it". It's because we threw a bunch of money around with very little strategy or planning and ended up with a team full of expensive crap players on high wages. The likes of Vestergaard, Faes, Soumare, Daka, Skipp costed us £15-20 mil each, if we buy players that are actually worth those transfers fees then we are still sitting comfortable in the PL. We absolutely deserve to be a championship club simply because we are definitely not in the top 20 best run clubs in the country. One day in the next few years it will finally dawn on our fans, when Brighton, Brentford and Bournemouth are still sitting happy in the PL, that collapses like ours and Southampton's are not an inevitability for clubs that find success through the model of being better at recruitment. Ours are unique situations where Southampton changed ownership and we have had a generational run of terrible decision making over the last few years that will not be recreated for a while.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy - Sacked - Official

Sometimes it's not just about performance, it's about what they represent. I dont want to see players like Winks and Vestergaard who dont respect the badge and who are collecting ridiculous wages wear the shirt next season. Also Winks's performance level dropped significantly at the tail end of the championship season and looked out of depth against QPR this season despite us winning comfortably. There's no guarantee he will play with the same form he had at the start of the 23/24 season. -

I am just dreading having to see Winks and Vestergaard on the team sheet again. -
We paid £7mil for him 2 years ago btw. Ridiculous fee for a £1-2mil player. Genuinely think Rodgers spouting off about lack of leadership and 'young squad' made the people running us lose their heads and forget about everything else.

He was probably thinking of Essex

It's been mentioned but I have no idea if he does. -
Louie barry will be too expensive for what he is. Just give Jake Evans a chance instead. Same quality of player minus the lower league loans but at least he's already our player!

There's almost always a sell on clause. Not sure if it's possible when there's a release clause involved though.
