He’s a solid championship player at best, but will never be direct enough to play on the wing, or technically efficient enough to play in the middle at a high level. I’d happily sell for the right price, not quite sure what that is, maybe around £8m.

Annoyingly, I think the centre forward market has had more options this summer than I can remember. Kvistgaarden, Kone, Machino, Heggebo, Kjerrumgaard, Bertaccini all moving for less than £10m. There are still the likes of Franculino, Durosinmi, Salech and others available but I don’t back us to bring anybody in for a fee. A decent loanee the best we can hope for.

Respectfully, and I’m really happy to be proven wrong on this or it argued another way, but this is what you do if you’re bringing more cash in for the accounting value of that asset, you’re boosting the balance sheet to make it look better for sale. Not reinvesting into playing staff also then increases the cash to debt value. Im convinced Top wants out. Maybe partially, but I suspect fully. There’s been nothing from him over the summer, and at the very least we usually see him try and insert himself into pictures at pre-season or with new managers. Absolutely **** all this summer. They cannot afford to bankroll us anymore, KP is in the mud and he’s been chucked out of that too. He’d either be turning that into full steam ahead with Leicester City, or look to live a cushty rich lifestyle around his family.
