Whilst I’ve not been impressed with him either yet, we are creating absolutely nothing and i do get the feeling if hes going to have any success it’s as someone who operates pretty solely in their box. An area we just don’t get anywhere near at the moment. Not saying he’s a good signing, but playing centre forward in this team isn’t exactly the perfect scenario to show your ability

Yeah BBCRL won’t want to piss him off, they’ll snap up the rare occasion to speak to him in the hope that he will then do it again. I expect some half decent questions on the “do you understand fan’s frustrations” lines, with a waffling answer and no real further push back. That’s not a criticism of whoever gets the interview (presuming OPA), but this is very unlikely to lead to any major news on anything.

What’s happened to his tactical ideas? After coming in, it was all about the spare man from full back, high pressing and getting the ball wide. last night had no obvious instruction whatsoever. It was so uninspiring. I’ve been impressed with how Marti came in, but the last few games have been so poor and I don’t see how that turns around. He isn’t the problem at the club, but he’s also not performing in his role at all.

Even better than that, get the ball back to the centre circle asap for them with a minute left to play in the half. Ayew strikes me as very challenged in the brain cell department

Baffling really how much seemed to be made of Ben over the summer, even getting the armband in some preseason matches, and then close to nothing so far this season. Hope the rumours are true that he starts tomorrow. Has been the best centre back on our books for about a year now

Do we have any concept of our financial position this January? Would love us to go out and spend around £5m on an attacking midfielder, but wouldn’t be shocked if we don’t do anything.

Always been confident that the time would come where he’s viewed as the correct option this season. Lack of EFL cup games has gone against him to stake a claim, but I’m still confident we head into 2026 with him starting. If he hasn’t had a chance by mid November though, I’ll be worried.

A centre forward should be number 1 target in January. Potential that Daka, Ayew and Carranza all leave in the summer. Even if Carranza works and we make his deal permanent (not sure what the option looks like), we need another option so we aren’t recruiting 2 or 3 in the summer. Looking at whose contract is up in the summer, we could get Rafiu Durosinmi or Myron Boadu at decent prices. Would be very tempted by the latter

Nope, I don’t think Ricky can do 3 in 10 days and therefore should be rested as he will have a greater impact against a team like Wrexham

Only change I’d really make is Hamza for Ricky. Wrexham at home is where I’d bring Monga, Carranza and maybe Kristiansen in.

I think it will be the same team as Birmingham. Maybe Daka or Carranza for Page, and Ayew drops to the 10. Marti is meticulous on out of possession shape, and he’s just starting to see results with that, he’ll integrate the newbies slowly until he trusts they are tuned in.
