Development/Youth Squads 2024/2025 Thread - U18/U21
LVFox replied to davieG's topic in Leicester City Forum
Remarkably easy to jusy say he should be thrown in. It's a super difficult scenario. He's training with the first team at 16 and banging in goals at U21 level. Think we can be pretty happy with his progression so far. -
Every side apart from Southampton has a potential match winner, we lost ours the moment Fatawu got injured

I agree with this, but I think the assembly of this squad is so poor that there isn't a coach or coaching style that suits them. -
We desperately need some pace up top, it's a little left field but I'd love to see us go: Hermansen Woyo Faes Okoli Kristiansen Ndidi. Soumare BDCR. Vardy. BEK Daka

We were never solid at the back under Cooper. We always looked horrific at the back and gave up too many chances. He also had Ricky & Fatawu available to him, and Stephy Mavididi with confidence, which he utterly drained him of. Current form is showing Cooper didn't have a PL squad at his disposal, which we likely all thought he did, but he's also partly responsible for that. Skipp, BDCR, Ayew, all ridiculous signings when it was obvious we needed a PL ready centre back and centre forward. Cooper had all the opportunity for groundwork that Ruud didn't, and we were horrific from day 1 under him. Ruud needs to get a result and quick, and he needs to show more invention than he is, but he has one arm tied behind his back with what he's inherited -

I feel for Ruud. He's got a squad that just isn't good enough. If we attack a game we are cut apart defensively. If we get organised at the back, we have nothing going forward. I'm not suggesting he's a great coach, but I struggle to see how any coach could get a consistent tune out of this set of players -
Fantastic for the lad to get 90 minutes. A big step. So far so good.
-
Can't really fault the effort, or even how we were defensively set up. We simply don't have the quality to compete against the better sides in this league, and the minute we drop off we get hammered by any opponent (Everton, wolves defeats being prime example)
-
Anis Mehmeti seems to be having a breakout season for Bristol City. Has always shown glimpses but consistency is getting there.
-
Football eh...bloody hell
-
Fair to say Blades fans not best pleased with Cannon so far, he's been hooked at half time tonight.
-
Hermansen Justin Faes Okoli Kristiansen Ndidi Soumare BDCR. Bilal. Mavididi Vardy Don't see Mavs starting but we desperately need some pace and trickery out wide.
-
How come Maziz isn't starting much these days? Seemed to be the shining light last season
-
Okoli and Coady for me, Vestergaard should be nowhere near a premier league starting 11 and Faes just cannot be trusted not to make a catastrophic error. Agree that next season Okoli, Souttar, Nelson and one other would be great, but think we will find it hard to move on Coady and Vestergaard
-
Soumare surely? Looked like a footballer again under Cooper, but has managed to look almost PL level under Ruud.
-
Think we will be seeing off the bench cameos for him for a few weeks. Not watching, but Cardiff fans online seem very happy with him
-
If people think Bilal plays in the championship, they are kidding themselves. Best we can hope for is to loan him to the continent and he plays for us the following year should we go up
-
The most horrific goal to concede. Never handball and he's a yard off
-
Has a wonderful talent of turning balls that are half a yard away from him into decent ones with his first touch. He's not quite got Mahrez's wizardry, but he's similar on the fundamentals.
-
Bilal is a beautiful footballer, utterly magestic. United are awful
-
Okoli is so much better than Vestegaard. Quite happy with the trio of Soumare,Ndidi & Bilal too. Wingers are honking, Daka has been alright though.
-
Troy Deeney - think big Nige wanted him a fair bit. Firstly before we ended up with Ulloa, and then at the end of that season too. Fortunately we ended up with Leonardo and Okazaki instead....the rest is history
-
If we had Yuki Abe 5 years after we did, he'd have been lauded as a great success
-
Glad we've repurposed Danny Ward
-
Bilal/Buonanotte the only new faces who are better than any of those who have left. And I'd argue Buonanotte is remarkably similar to Akgun in ability
