  1. Massive upgrade on Ward. To be fair a 96 y/o wheelchair bound Begovic would represent an upgrade so one that is still mobile is OK.
  2. Not KPFC that's for sure.
  3. The material from that pic on the website makes it look like some dodgy knock off. Hope it's actually better quality in reality, though not that I'll be buying it with that hideous sponsor on the front.
  4. Musa screamer versus Palace(?!?) at home
  5. Absolutely, loved Frank, great player.
  6. Sinclair has got to be in the mix. Despite his height he was a absolute unit, and could easily out jump most 6ft plus guy's.
  7. Following the Glazer model I see. Wasn't happy with these loans when we were performing well with decent revenue, but understood the rationale given Top's cash flow issues post family bereavement and management of Vishai's estate. To now be taking out loans when our revenue is non-existent and future revenue is far from guaranteed seems reckless. Hope these loans eventually prove to be the straw that breaks the camel's back.
  8. I believe currently they are the world leaders in AI, chip development, and research into quantum computing. China is catching up and making huge strides in this field but are still some way behind in terms of spend, although they're finding innovative ways to improve the efficiency of their development cycle. However, I'm not sure that there is any appetite from western nations to channel all their data through products of a nation state that are known for its surveillance activities used for spying, or stealing intellectual property. That's before you even consider issues on censorship and data bias/propaganda. The UK is investing the 3rd highest amount in AI yet we are miles behind 2nd place China, so for the time being at least it's one or the other. It's also not just a case of having the know how; you also need easy access to precious metals/minerals, highly skilled assembly operatives that can both manufacture chips at scale and low cost, and access to near unlimited energy to power data centres/production lines. Considering we have entered a revolutionary phase which is like no other ever witnessed by mankind, I'd say right now Europe needs to keep the US on side. It's frustrating as it gives Trump free reign to do as he wants and let's be honest he's not the most stable president that's ever graced the Oval, but as Sampson pointed out, aside from the tech, Europe is also dependant on their military products. In a world of growing geopolitical tension, with nations competing for natural resources, sadly this further strengthens the continents reliance on the US. As much as it may appear painful in the here and now, Trump changes his mind more than he changes his underpants so I get the impression the EU will play the game for a few weeks until he suddenly comes to his senses. It's not ideal but we just need to ride out his presidency until normality can resume.
  9. With finishing like that I think we've found our Vardy replacement. Can't be any worse than Daka. Free agent too, so a striker we can actually afford
  10. Thought the same unless they're counting drinks breaks
  11. Wow... Monga is something else. If he stays and gets game time next season he's going to destroy the Championship.
  12. Great save
  13. Heard there's been a small issue with the due diligence. Apparently one of the board asked for confirmation and Rudkin admitted it'd slipped his mind. I've been told that all is in hand and that Rudkin has sent Jim to Boots at Fosse Park to pick up a 50ml bottle from the beauty counter. The club are now confident that everything will be in place ahead of kick off today.
  14. Looks like there's now a third possibility that there could have been a technical issue with the switches locking system not engaging. Apparently the FAA issued a bulletin for the 737 which uses the same switch, but it was only advisory and not a mandatory requirement. The suggestion is Air India did not perform the necessary inspections. Whether that had any bearing on what happened time will tell. Seems unlikely given the number of years the model has been in service and flight hours it has accrued, but I guess you never know. It will be very interesting to see what conclusion the investigators come to when the final report is eventually published. Either way it appears that this incident was preventable and a lot of people have tragically lost their lives unnecessarily.
  15. I agree with the logic makes perfect sense.
  16. Tragic. I know absolutely nothing about how plane cockpits operate but on the face of it I don't understand how the planes systems allow the switches to be turned off in an ascent. At the very least if they were changed you'd expect that there would be an immediate warning or some sort of warning with a few second delay so that the issue could be remedied quickly and not adversely impact the plane. The findings of the initial report do seem to tally with the video. There's a point shortly before the crash where you can momentarily see the plane regain some lift before dropping again. I guess this would be indicative of the single engine restarting, however clearly by that point the plane had lost too much air speed to climb. Really sad that so many people lost their lives seemingly unnecessarily.
  17. Link to the deck doesn't appear to be working, is this down?
  18. Agreed, it's a shocker, but the reality is he's not a famous name who has previously been on tele week after week managing in the PL. Personally, I'm really excited by this appointment. Rohl was marginally my preferred candidate but there's a lot of similarities between him and Cifuentes. I think there's a lot of recency bias with Rohl because of the current issues with the owner but QPR aren't exactly a well run club either, and the shower Ainsworth left behind shows what an incredible job Cifuentes did. Yes, they've been inconsistent but that's no different to the other 18 teams that finish outside of the top 6, it's that kind of league. Let's not forget though that the QPR squad he had to work with was very poor. Even though our perception is we're awful, the squad he has to work with here is by far one of the best in league so let's judge him once he's had a chance to work with these players.
  19. Corrected it for you @Ric Flair. You could have Pep in charge, but whilst Top, Suzie, and Rudders remain offering to pay via installments of Toblerone's we'll just end up signing some Poundland imitation Edouard.
  20. If Rohl isn't in the running then it has to be Dyche from the names mentioned. Don't want O'Neil or Wilder anywhere near this club. Genuinely won't use my season ticket next season if either of these clowns are appointed. If its not Rohl, then my preference from the out of work manager's (assuming that's the pool we're looking in) would be Cifuentes or Hasenhuttl. I'd even take Dean Smith over O'Neil and Wilder if that was an option.
  21. Hate to say it but I think I'm genuinely at the point with this club where if it was to go under I think I'd be relieved. It's like a pet with an incurable condition that just needs putting down for it's own sake.
  22. That's why they're considering legal action. Textor sold them to Woody Johnson.
  23. He's already sold them for £190m
  24. Wondering if the club has been advised to breach further this FY. The appeal board in their judgment, whilst granting the PL and EFL the ability to apply bilateral punishment were clear that all breaches are to be applied in the same season. I suspect NDeM has flagged that to the club and they'll push for points to be deducted this season as per the appeal board. Therefore it'll have no tangible impact other than the end of season merit award reducing as we'll officially finish below Ipswich. If either the EFL or PL try and apply to next season/FY I can see us challenging this and winning an appeal which is quite ironic seeing as they've pushed hard to try and screw us.
  25. Absolutely. I don't mind his music, though not someone I listen to regularly. Probably the best performance I've seen so far this weekend along with Myles Smith.
