Mentioned after the Wrexham game. But we don't look fit. Get to 60 mins then look absolutely short of energy. Pressing drops off, and second to every ball. Desperately need a conditioning coach who knows what they are doing because we've been awful for years.
-
Awful goal to concede. Really really poor from the lads.
-
As crap as our number 9 options are, we look like we have way too much in the attacking third for this division. Need to start putting our chances away.

When did Wayne Brown join the forum?!?

Wouldn't really call the one change of putting your club captain and best player in the side, sweeping changes. Considering he's been moaning about being frustrated with the performance on Tuesday, I'd hoped he'd change it up a bit.

Mav has a hamstring injury. Suspect no Kristiansen simply because he's not very good.
-
Not learning is he. Getting very frustrating hearing him continuously dropping soundbites only to get to the next game and not really change anything.

Leicester 1 - 1 Wrexham POST MATCH
ian__marshall replied to SecretPro's topic in Leicester City Forum
Anyone else think we looked absolutely knackered after about 60 mins last night? Our conditioning for years has been horrendous. For years now other teams seem to be able to work harder and win every second ball. Really miss the days under Pearson where we had a very well structured periodised fitness approach and would get stronger as the season went on and literally out-run teams late in games particularly in the final third of the season. Really frustrating to see when we have one of the best training facilities in world football, and yet teams like Wrexham who were in the national league not so long ago appear to be a fitter side. -
Leicester 1 - 1 Wrexham POST MATCH
ian__marshall replied to SecretPro's topic in Leicester City Forum
Just want us to sack off this 433/343 experiment that Enzo started. We're not good enough to play it, and without any decent players in the AMC and ST positions it's so easy to double up on Monga/Mavididi and Fatawu to nullify the threat. I like Hamza but he doesn't offer enough as the inverted FB, and playing Faes and Vestergaard because they are perceived to be good with the ball at their feet, is simply not good enough. What happened to playing defenders that first and foremost know how to defend? If we've not got a decent striker who can play the lone striker role, why not switch to a formation where we play with two? I'm so frustrated, both the opposing players and mangers are complete and utter sh*te in this league yet we line up every week as if readying for a match against a prime Pep side. We obviously need to give Marti time, but he needs to come up with more than what we've seen during the past couple of games. We simply cannot be dropping points against the likes of Oxford, and Wrexham if we want any chance of promotion. Big game now at the weekend. -
WBA (a) 1-1 Leicester Post Match thread

Awful performance, and lucky to get a point. Away form needs to improve massively. Faes needs benching, and we need a striker in January. -

The issue is we don't move the ball fast enough. I thought Enzo's style was slow at times but this is slower still. Means we can't break the lines and pull them out of shape. Even harder now we're a goal down as they're happy to sit in. No idea what Faes was thinking for that goal, just shows why he can't be in the relied upon.

So what's the alternative, let them do as they please without consequence? Where does it stop? This approach is exactly what has led us to this point in the first place. If there had been a stronger response to the invasion of Crimea in 2014 we wouldn't even be discussing this. Instead we tried the diplomatic approach and turned a blind eye but simply didn't work. Putin and his cronies only respect force, they have no interest in diplomacy and see it as weakness. Using your analogy, we now have a situation where the school bully goes around smacking everyone without concern of punishment, and has convinced everyone that his dad who has just been released from prison after a 10 year stint for GBH will come and sort out anyone who grasses him up to the headmaster. At some point someone has to be brave and stand up to the bully. Anyway, I have my view point on the situation, some will agree, others will disagree, however I'm going to step away from the conversation now. I've got a very busy week ahead and don't have the time to discuss further. Have a good week all!

No, the first quite simply involves downing any Russian jet entering NATO territory without permission. They've breached territorial boundaries so face they should face the consequences. Don't want your jet shot down, don't go enter, simple as. The second is continue as is however send Nato jets over Russian airspace to test their response. It might be deemed provocative but is no different to what Russia are doing so why not.
-
There's a very simple answer to that the next time they try a stunt like this. Give them the exact same treatment Russia would take if a Nato fighter jet entered Russian airspace. Either that or respond in kind by sending jets into Russian airspace and see what happens.

Not bad considering we played the last 15 (20mins inc. added) with 9 men.

EFL THINKING OF CHANGING PLAY OFF FORMAT
ian__marshall replied to Joe90's topic in Leicester City Forum
Is this further meddling from the PL?!? Any team finishing 8th in the Championship that somehow wins the playoff will be guaranteed relegation the following season thereby adding another level of protection for the annual underperformers. There's nothing wrong with the current system, why change it unnecessarily. -
Didn't see that one coming

Who was our worst manager and why?
ian__marshall replied to ramboacdc's topic in Leicester City Forum
Toss up between Taylor and Rodgers for me. Both took well built teams and not only destroyed them but loaded the club with worse players and significant financial burden setting the club back years. Holloway was awful and I hate the fact that he tarnished our proud history by overseeing our relegation to League One, however I do accept that he did take over under very challenging circumstances. -
Ex Players - They used to play for us
ian__marshall replied to davieG's topic in Leicester City Forum
Just finished watching, Football's Financial Shame: The Story of the V11 that aired on BBC tonight and is available to stream via iPlayer. Noticed a few former players on there and extremely saddened to hear the story and impact on them. -
Jordan James joins on loan - Official
ian__marshall replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Perfect signing for us in terms of where we are at currently as a club. Feels like a return to the Pearson style of signings, with Drinkwater vibes. Young, hungry player, with a point to prove, and a motivation to secure a spot in the Wales squad. I'm really on-board with Cifuentes. Feels like a breath of fresh air, and gives me some encouragement that maybe the recruitment team aren't as bad as we imagine, just need some direction. -
This is turning into one of the best threads in years 🙂. Thing I don't understand, is if Wout has an above average IQ and has aspirations of working with some of the greatest mathematician's and physicist's in the world, why does he struggle so much in judging the flight of a football?!?

Will Alves (loaned to Huddersfield, official)
ian__marshall replied to davieG's topic in Transfer Talk
Gutted for the lad. Had the world at his feet until that thug broke him in two. I personally would have given him the chance to step into Bill's shoes. His performances last season for Cardiff showed he is capable at this level. I appreciate he didn't have a great game in the league Cup, but he's not the only one. I also understand that Marti probably can't guarantee him a starting spot, a) due to internal competition such as Page/possibly Ayew if we buy a striker, and b) any potential incoming who are already at the level required. I'm disappointed he's dropping down a division. It'll do his confidence the world of good, but I think he's capable of more and the club should be looking to loan him out to a mid tier Championship side. -
To be fair if he's anything like the last Argentinian striker we had it's a 'yes' from me.

Wow, I thought we were terrible
