  1. I think this view is far more commonly held and certainly more widespread than perhaps we would like to think
  2. That represents the standard Thai / South East Asian approach to business - the owner takes the decisions, which are then communicated by the hired help. That approach is clear for all to see on almost a daily basis from LCFC where the staff - at all levels - know absolutely nothing until word is communicated to them from on high. Embarrassing isn't it
  3. No rush, it's only Monday......
  4. I seem to remember that at the time the new stadium was being planned, there were those who felt that the proposed eventual 32,000 capacity was too large. I am sure that if we had constructed the new stadium with the originally proposed 40,000 capacity, we would have filled it in just the same way that we achieved crowds of 32000.
  5. So we've one incompetent Thai businessman losing patience with another incompetent Thai businessman leading to the first incompetent Thai businessman then turning to Jon Rudkin to sort things out for him. That's alright then, we're saved!
  6. Perhaps it's just a very very long shortlist?
  7. That as a shortlist suggests that we've tried for lots and lots of people and failed. Plus lots more too.....!
  8. Certainly true of a great number of people who sit near me in the East Stand
  9. Better off in terms of league position perhaps, but could we have confidence that a shortlist of suitable potential future managers would have been prepared in order to avoid another period in limbo such as we find ourselves in at the moment? And that would be to rely on suitable managers being available and willing to come at the time we need them. I understand the need to appoint the best possible candidate but also think we need a period of stability in terms of both recruitment and style of play. We don't look like getting that at LCFC with the current 'revolving door' style seemingly favoured by our Board.
  10. Quite right
  11. They're balm cakes where I come from!
  12. Tempting to think that but I think it's inevitable that the news would have leaked somehow, from somewhere, if that was the case. To have decided upon - and appointed - a replacement so early in the process would require a degree of forward planning and organisation entirely beyond any of the decision makers at our club. Surely you know that!!
  13. I'm sure you're right about the quality of the football during the 1970 World Cup but for the life of me, I can't remember anything about it. I can remember much of the 1966 World Cup almost like it was yesterday but not 1970, almost nothing. Must be getting old......
  14. Really? There's a strong argument that the players have been appeased too much already and that more of a 'Brian Clough'- type approach is needed.
  15. It's the DNA of the club and the current work ethic that are a large part of the problem
  16. At the moment it doesn't look as though he's going anywhere - certainly not for anything like £20 mill.
  17. You'd think so wouldn't you but then this is LCFC we're talking about under Aiyawat and Rudkins inspired leadership. Nothing should surprise us!
  18. Mainly my impressions of the man I must admit but, and in no particular order - I feel that we need to appoint a manager with a reasonable expectation on our part that he would stay for 2 / 3 seasons minimum to provide the recruitment and style- of-play continuity we need. I think Rohl is looking for a early return to managing in Germany - particularly with his wife's reported reluctance to settle in this country. And - I suspect there are some difficult if not toxic characters currently in our dressing room. I haven't heard of anything in his background to suggest that he has the presence or experience needed to deal with and overcome their influence. That's my current thinking for what it's worth.
  19. Can't see that there's any chance of them doing that!
  20. I'm not convinced by either Dyche or Rohl quite honestly, neither particularly suited to our current situation so far as I can see. Do we really find ourselves in the position of appointing the least worst option? Perhaps someone could recommend some European up and coming manager that none of us have ever heard of - that potentially at least would be more exciting
  21. Suspect certain players still at the club have better access to Aiyawatt than the manager. But no reason to believe that Aiyawatt's views and Rudkin's views aren't in total alignment, they are quite possibly both in total agreement on all football matters and both totally wrong
  22. For me too - plus someone with the ability to bang heads together both in the Boardroom and in the Dressing Room
  23. But for him to be considered here, our Board would have to know who he is. I'm not even sure Rudkin / Top will have even heard of him
  24. It upsets me to think that, given the current state of the club, I've very little interest in who we play given that we do know which players we'll have to make up a team and don't know who the manager will be. Pretty sure Aiyawatt wonbe here to witness it either
  25. Just out of interest, where is Susan Whelan at the moment? - is she here or is she in Thailand?
