Don't often disawith you Rick but I do this time. Sammy has been at Newport only since the start of this season and although he's doing well, that's not really long enough to get the full benefit in furthering his development in my opinion. If we were able to do so, I'd give him another 3 months at Newport or in Division 1 and then consider a recall if to do so would bring him close to selection for our first team
-
No he probably couldn't do any worse but, for me, the main thing is I have the feeling that it would all be enormously entertaining watching him get to grips with some of the characters in our team. With Rudkin too.....

Promotion obviously brings tremendous financial advantages but would be fairly pointless unless we also remove and replace the useless senior management who got us into this position in the first place. We can't have confidence that they wouldn't simply make all the same mistakes again

I was going to go but we're staying with our daughter and her family in Northamptonshire over Christmas so I'm going to sample non League football instead - Rushden & Diamonds vs Wellingborough Town. A local Derby, should be good! -
Feel we need another Jock Wallace

I think that's being optimistic. I think the intention is for Marti to be here for the rest of this season at least

Interim Managing Director Appointed
Nickaj replied to urban.spaceman's topic in Leicester City Forum
I'll resist temptation and delay making any comment until we know the identity of the Technical Director -
Actually, I think that's Cromer beach in Norfolk

The suggestion is that she was in office but not in power, held in place by her other links to King Power

Can someone please provide a link to enable us to either sponsor them or make a donation

No doubt in my mind, admittedly we've had some shockers but Frank McLintock was absolutely in a class of his own. Nice bloke though, very friendly and approachable.

This transfer window - whilst not perfect - did turn out to be far better than I expected and, for that reason alone, I refuse to believe that Jon Rudkin had anything at all to do with it. Therefore there must be truth in the story circulating prior to the window opening that Martin Glover had been asked to take a greater involvement in the recruitment process. Only possible explanation.

Bilal El Khannouss (Stuttgart loan, official)
Nickaj replied to lcfc_forever's topic in Transfer Talk
Of course we don't know all the circumstances or intricacies of the deal but, based on the club's past performance and their refusal to provide any form of comment, we are perfectly entitled to think the worst. On the face of it, this is a terrible deal - what else can we think given the previous alternative offers commented upon in the press only - on the day before the closure of the window - to hear he is leaving on a lower value loan deal. It may be that the club have exciting potential signings lined up to complete during the course of today which then might go some way towards improving my current opinion of the most senior management at the club, but on the basis of this transfer, I doubt it. -
This is what you call "proper" football!

Quite right. Save the drinking until after the match when the need is greater.....

I'm beginning to develop a liking for Ipswich

Can't have been Rudkin, someone else must have negotiated this deal!

Wonder if there is any possibility of Spurs now coming in for Bilal? -
Good time for a protest then

Not too late for Palace to withdraw from the deal if they think they've found a better / cheaper alternative.... We're then left with an unhappy and unsettled player possibility at the end of the transfer window -

But even when these players have moved out at the end of their contracts or whenever, as things stand we'd still be relying on the very same people who got us into this mess, to rebuild for the future. Doesn't exactly fill you with hope does it? -
What do you think are the chances of Top being at the next home match? Was he at the Sheffield Wednesday game?

The most compelling, not to say convincing, job application I've seen for years!

It's also certainly possible that the funds resulting from our player sales are needed back in Thailand to provide financial support for King Power
