  1. Dunno why people think that, it absolutely isn’t. Quite literally any manager out there would get more out of these players than he is currently. It’s that bad it looks like sabotage, he is doing more damage by being here than us having no one in charge.
  2. In relation to the Player of The Match thing - I'd hope most football fans don't give a sh*t about such an easy thing to change and are happy to change it if it makes the game more inclusive. If I can do something easy to make someone feel more included I'm gonna do it and not get pissy about their life choices. I'm genuinely staggered how triggered people get at these things, no one is telling you to identify any differently. I don't personally understand it but at the same time I'm grateful for that because it means i've never had to worry about it, so who the hell am I to tell anyone about how they should identify.
  3. Can't stand this sh*t. De Bruyne also consistently says patronising things after difficult games vs smaller clubs. I find it so distasteful when you think Man City are basically making a mockery of the sport by playing real life Fantasy Football.
  4. I read something from a former contestant that said those boardroom scenes took hours to film because of how long it took him to get his lines right - which makes those scenes seem even more cringe.
  5. Exactly yeah - The Paper Duck was a brilliant beer garden in the summer. Happy to go to Sommar, but like you've said above, they seem to be designed for a completely different audience. Especially weird when it is opposite Slug & Lettuce, which is an almost identical interior.
  6. Agree with that, one just opened on the high street in my part of Birmingham. The beer is really nice but it's such a weird place and interior. Slightly annoying because they bought out a very good craft beer place to be there.
  7. I'd argue that is what makes some of them so good, Happy Valley doesn't need that level of cinematography to be engaging, just seriously good writing and acting. Peaky Blinders had far too much focus on style over substance towards the end in my opinion.
  8. I'd say it was the best, there was so much talk about how our side was better than the title winning side at that point and we were well involved at the top with 2 of the best teams the Prem has seen.
  9. +1 For me this is the goal that determined how the rest of the season went. If we didn't win that after what had just happened with Arsenal, I think we could have crumbled. It really felt huge at the time.
  10. Definitely, the amount of souvenir shops is beyond stupid and it's a shame the oldest bit of the city is being ruined by that crap. De Pijp, cool area to live. That's the kind of area I was talking about, it took me about a year of living there to realise that isn't out of the city at all, it's just outside of the canal rings but for me that is proper Amsterdam and where the locals go to stay away from the British lads holidays.
  11. The tourist areas are definitely getting worse, the locals are really pushing to shut it down and ban the coffee shops. Luckily it's a very small area of the city, If you step out of the immediate area around the station and central canals, it's getting better and better. I appreciate it's hard to do that because the whole city feels like a maze and you go round in circles. Agree that Utrecht is a really nice place and (assuming you went to Tivoli) the gig venue is brilliant.
  12. I think you could add that League Cup Semi final against Aston Villa in there too and Liverpool last season. People will always say it was impressive to be in these positions in the first place, and in general I agree but I also feel like the bottling we've seen under Rodgers is absolutely comical. If you add in what happened to him at Liverpool in the last few weeks of the season, his record really is quite spectacular.
  13. It’s outrageous how consistent this thread is.
  14. I refuse to accept Rodgers can't get this team performing to a higher level. Our starting 11 this season is mid-table, easily. The standard of the teams at the bottom this season is piss poor, these players aren't on that level. Say what you want about new investment, of course we need that and it's frustrating that it hasn't happened but these players aren't showing a basic level of commitment to the team, for me that is down to the manager. We're unbelievably weak and easy to beat, we have been for over 18 months, I don't think that is down to lack of investment. It's definitely become worse now he's seemingly thrown his toys out the pram, but the signs haven't appeared this season, the different ways we have collapsed under Rodgers had to be seen to be believed at times.
  15. Dan Burn's first goal for Newcastle last night. Really slick goal, beautifully walking through our box. You're welcome Dan
  16. I doubt there are many non religious folk that won't get involved when the whole country has a holiday tbf. I've always celebrated/had time off for the holidays but never for religious reasons.
  17. This is just another classic case of football fans from Club A, acting like football fans from Club B are somehow complete ****ing oddballs, despite being an almost identical demographic. You have to be a proper nob to act like this isn't just a friendly rivalry.
  18. I dunno, they beat Brazil, Italy, Uruguay, Chile, Colombia on that run. Hardly a bad standard. I get what people are saying, on paper a lot of players don't stand out, but it's hardly ridiculous to suggest they were/are up there with the favourites when they have been on a run like that. To be honest, they could have been 3 up by half time if they could time their runs better and we wouldn't even be discussing them as not up to it.
  19. I mean they were 35 unbeaten before that, so it's not totally ridiculous. That was definitely a shocker.
  20. Sounds like the Schmeichel family is informing your view on the whole of Scandinavia 😂 Always thought they were known for the exact opposite of that description.
  21. We were out of the bottom 3 this weekend at one stage, I think the overall Premier League standard is a lot lower than people make out. The fact we finished 8th last season was quite frankly astonishing, we were appalling. However, I won't be confident of staying up as long as Rodgers is in charge. He is the opposite of the manager you need in a relegation battle, he's too stubborn for it, his teams have no bottle and he certainly can't get players up for a fight.
  22. I find this opinion baffling. It's so British to just say 'don't buy it then' rather than being actively annoyed about the fact your club is taking the piss out of fans. Some people may want something similar, but we don't offer it because we're trying to flog overpriced tat instead. Again, some people may want a drink when they go to the football, rather than having to go without because it's £5.80 for absolutely no good reason. It's a working class City and fanbase, our club should be less tone deaf and more aware that the experience as a whole is not aligned with that at all.
  23. Obviously this is the most logical feeling to have - But I can't help feeling that a win against Forest (as crucial as 3 points are and how enjoyable it will be) pushes us into a more difficult spot, we absolutely won't sack him if we win that for at least a couple of weeks. The fixtures in the following weeks after Forest are so so crucial, I just don't want him anywhere near those games.
  24. I can't believe I'm going into the Forest game, *almost* hoping we don't win because I know if we do, it just buys him more time and delays the inevitable a few more weeks. I really wouldn't be surprised to see us scrape a win against Forest and get hammered 3-0 the next week at Bournemouth.
  25. I think Benitez is quite possibly the only manager I wouldn’t prefer over Rodgers. Sometimes you just know when a manager won’t work with a certain fan base.
