Paris Olympic Games 2024

Lots of respect for Peaty but sick of hearing about him on BBC coverage. -
Suspension and a low profile for a bit and everyone will gave forgotten and moved on to the next drama. He made a mistake going for the head, at that point in the altercation. You can understand the stressful and tense situation but police have to be better than that.

Premier League 24/25 Pre-season guff (misc talking points)
RowlattsFox replied to davieG's topic in Leicester City Forum
Jeez. Try not to overreact in pre season but this puts Enzo under huge pressure. On the opposite end, Rodgers will be creaming himself over beating Man City and Chelsea. -

Wow, that aussie will be gutted. Especially given you've screwed your mate over too. -

It's all very unnecessary isn't it yet I'm still sat watching it -

Always enjoying listening to Andrew Cotter. And he looks nothing like I expected him too. -
I couldn't be less enthusiastic about the season and the games so far have done nothing to excite me. It's early pre season but we look nothing like a premier league squad.
-
Small crowds are annoying because you can hear every **** shouting.
-
Is anyone seriously blaming Ward for the goal?
-
If Ndidi is playing in an attacking position and Hamza gets any minutes at all, we are in trouble.
-
Just switched it on. Is the Palermo keeper not wearing gloves
-
Have I missed it or have we not seen any pictures of anyone who was supposed to return this week? Or are they back next Monday?
-
Never shone but can't really remember him being overly shit either I'm sure someone will provide a list of examples now. Don't really see the point loaning him out (but understand its probably because no-one will take on his wages in a permanent move), unless its keeping him in case we need him for the Championship in a years time.

Can't get behind Football and other mainstream sports being involved in the Olympics but do enjoy the Athletics, Swimming and more obscure sports. Just a shame its not a red button thing these days where you can pick your sport. -
I get the need for versatility but feel he's another player who hasn't been good enough to narrow down a position. I can't say I've seen him too much though, other than 10 minutes at the end of games.
-
Got no problem with the police being physical if necessary but at that moment it was clearly excessive. Especially to the head, kick him in the bollocks or something Something you are not going to get away with these days, with cameras everywhere.
-
Pretty shit that a footballer can be forced to go somewhere he doesn't really want to go either you are a player that has all the power or have someone controlling where you can and can't go.
-
It's a bit quick to jump on Cooper imo, although I share the concerns around Fatawu position. He's got the defensive work rate, energy and pace to be an attack minded wing back but you do lose a lot of his strengths. His cutting inside was a strength but also massively inconsistent. Maybe Fatawu can develop his game on the left, who knows. Sometimes in pre-season you get players playing in strange positions, sometimes experiments or sometimes it's just so that everyone can get minutes.
-
I'm jumping to conclusions a bit but I'd be disappointed if the lack of new contract is down to him and his advisers being awkward. Always find it frustrating when a player stalls on a new contract having spent more than a year out injured and been looked after by the club. Understand he wants game time and to progress, but don't think dragging contract issues helps.
-
Vardy is going to pick up knocks all season. He can't be our number 1 striker. Ward is clearly happy to see out his contract here and be back up, Iversen probably less so.
-
Wouldn't want to see him in the league, his negatives are woefully exposed against everyone but every nice move we had involved Soumare. Better than Choudhury anyway.
-
If he is to go out on loan. Its needs to be Championship. Best thing is the positivity when he gets the ball. Not interested in going backwards or recycling the ball for the sake of it.
-
Wanya was quiet but did some nice bits of play which created the attacks on the other side.
-
Decent run out. McAteer best player and some decent first half performances. Soumare had his usual poor touches and clumsy play but actually thought he played alright generally. Bright touches from Golding and Alves, shame we couldn't get them involved more. Turned back fat too often. Okoli was far from convincing. Can excuse a bit of rusty defending but looked far from comfortable on the ball, even more so has a left centre back. Don't want to judge yet of course, but we will see if he turns out better than what we've already got.
-
Not the start you want fron Okoli. Looked really nervous with the ball then pumped it long, and then a poor own goal. The best of McAteer there, good finish.
