So good to see this man back in the 1st team for a Premier League fixture. We’ve missed him hugely over the past 2 months! Against a very good Arsenal midfield, I thought he and Soumare battled really well today. Wilf is huge to our chances of staying in the league. His physicality and ability to move box-to-box not only helps our very poor defence, but provides support to our weak attack. Yes, he’s not the complete midfielder and his distribution can be frustrating at times. Yes, he’s had a couple of bad seasons under Brendan. But he’s been back to near his best and has been for the last 18months now. Does anyone else feel Wilf is under appreciated by the fanbase? It’s no coincidence that when he’s been injured over the last 2 months, our results have skydived. Just hope he can stay fit. Brentford on Friday is massive, need 3pts as an absolute minimum!

These Monaco punks charged us top dollar for Tielemans at £40M. We should look to return the favour now and negotiate hard. Need a good fee here to make it even worthwhile think about. Ndidi is vital to us, no coincidence we haven’t picked up a point since he’s been out injured. Our midfield without him lacks physicality and the ability to get around the pitch.

Anyone know when Wilf is due back? We desperately miss his physicality in midfield. That 2nd half last night (vs Palace) was so passive and disappointing. It was right up there with some of the worst 45mins I’ve seen from us in the last couple of seasons. Just like the Wolves game a couple of weeks back, in these massive relegation 6 pointers we’re struggling to win our midfield battles and turn the screw on teams. Winks seems to be suffering a dip in form too, but fortunately Soumare’s performance upturn has been a welcome surprise. Skipp continues to disappoint and Choudhury probably isn’t quite at the level we need. Having Wilf back is huge for us, just a shame he quite injury prone nowadays.

Oliver Skipp Confirmed
Notting your mums forest replied to DJ Barry Hammond's topic in Leicester City Forum
As each game week passes by, this looks to be money badly spent. Clearly doesn’t improve the starting eleven and will be a squad player on massive wages for the remainder of his contract. A terrible acquisition at £25M! Beggars belief!!! -
Wolves 0-3 H Post Match Thread
Notting your mums forest replied to urban.spaceman's topic in Leicester City Forum
I’ve waited 48hrs before passing comment on this, it’s been hard to bite my tongue for so long, but I wanted to try and calm down, maybe watch the Match of the Day highlights to help me understand why we’re so flaky or maybe read the newspapers to perhaps help me to get to grips with what actually went wrong on Sunday? But I’ve chosen (and miserably failed) in trying to completely erase that abomination of a performance. Two days later, I’m still absolutely seething with that completely inept showing against the Premier League’s 19th placed side. That was our biggest game of the season and 3pts was a must. The players lacked heart, desire, intelligence and none of them were playing for the badge. I took my nephew to his first LCFC game. He’s been flirting with supporting Man Utd, Liverpool, Man City and Tottenham, so I thought I’d nip it in the bud and get him down the KP to turn him blue. After all there’s nothing worse than plastic football fans who choose to support big 6 teams over their local teams, poor parenting plain and simple. After that performance, I can’t blame him for wanting to support anyone but LCFC. Danny Ward just isn’t good enough. The entire fanbase has known this ever since Brendan got rid of Schmeichel too early and we ended up getting relegated. Why on earth did RVN select Ward over Iversen? The sooner Hermansen and/or Stolarczyk recover the better. James Justin has been having a howler of a season. I find it laughable that some were saying earlier in the season that he could get an ENG recall. No chance, I think his best form prior to his ACL was a flash in the pan and I don’t think we’ll see him at that level again. We badly miss Ricardo, such a shame he’s injured again. Personally, I think we miss Wilf Ndidi hugely! He’s been one of our best performers this season (and last season too). When he doesn’t play, we lack physicality in midfield. The sooner he returns the better. I think a case can be made for him being our best signing of the summer (albeit a re-signing). Last summer was our biggest outlay of Net summer spend ever (£50M+)!!! Just think about that. Another shambolic summer transfer season. El Khannouss is showing some positive signs and Buononatte has been brilliant, but he’s Brighton’s player and only a loan. Oliver Skipp, wow, what a disappointment so far and for £25M. The whole idea behind buying British proven premier league players is that they should hit the ground running. We’re at the half way stage of the season now and I’m seeing Hamza putting in a better shift vs Wolves. Devastated to lose Fatawu from injury all season. Nice to see Winks make a return, we just need Hermansen, Ricardo and Ndidi to come back now. This will make us competitive again at premier league level. I’m very concerned what our next 2 fixtures (Liverpool & Man City) will bring us, it could be a painful festive period. Hence, why our match vs Wolves was so important. If we lose both, that’d leave us on 14pts going into 2025, so certain relegation unless we can piece together another miraculous great escape a la Nigel Pearson 2014/15. Rant over. Let’s just enjoy Christmas, then go again vs Liverpool. Beating them at Anfield would be typical LCFC of old. We’ve got a decent record against them and it wasn’t that long ago we were a bogey team for Liverpool. Come on you Foxes. Keep the faith -
Way too early to start reaching a conclusion that cooper needs sacking. Simply put, We deserved to lose today vs Fulham. A pretty limp performance all in. But Cooper’s away record with Forest was absolutely abysmal too, and he clearly relies on home form. Both Fulham goals were on James Justin’s side today. I seriously worry that cooper is continuing to overlook our best footballer. It is unforgivable to bench Ricardo again! I am certain that if Ricardo would’ve played we do t concede that 2nd goal. Ricardo just wouldn’t have lost his head and go gallavanting out of position like JJ did for Fulham’s 2nd goal. I know Fatawu was out of position so JJ felt the need to break the defensive line and chase, but even in kids Sunday grassroots football this is madness! I wonder if Cooper/Ricardo don’t get on or if cooper is trying to push him out of the club? Also, it is harsh that Mavididi has lost his place to Bobby de Cordova Reid, who hasn’t exactly hit the ground running. Furthermore, why isn’t Alves playing when we’re crying out for an attacking midfielder and some creativity? Playing Ndidi in an attacking position at the end of the game was strange, but I actually thought Ndidi was our best player today and clearly stepped up after Winks was very below par. That Jordan Ayew free kick blazed over the bar with 10mins to go (painful). J.Ayew may prove to be a good signing, clearly a Cooper signing, but the jury is out. 2 games in now…1pt. Impending 6pt deduction due to PSR/FFP breach, so I’m looking at this as we’re currently on -5pts at the moment. Completely acknowledge Cooper needs to step up massively and a bit more of a forward thinking approach is definitely required. But I’m willing to give him more time. I’ll certainly be backing the boys at our next match and getting right behind them all (inc. Copper). This is going to be an absolute gigantic slog of a season and they need every single one of us getting behind the Team.

Reiss Nelson - loaned to Fulham
Notting your mums forest replied to LestaLad's topic in Transfer Talk
All comes down to price here. At 25yrs old, he’s not worth anything near £15M. However, Arsenal will be seeking a large offer as have their own FPP pressures seeing as they are spending big on Calafiori at £40M+ from our friends at Bologna. I see this signing as a player that maybe a few rungs down from our 1st choice. I’d say a year long loan, but we shouldn’t be paying anymore than £10M all in (including loan fee if we’re were to exercise the loan option). Reiss Nelson is a good player. He was excellent for the first few months of his Bundesliga loan move, but seriously tailed off. So consistency is a risk here, but you could argue that’s the case with 99% of forwards. certainly a lot less exciting than an Argentinian wonder kid in Soule, but I fear we all need to move on from Soule, and start looking at other options. -
Dennis Praet thanks for your time representing our shirt. His commitment can never be questioned and he clearly gave it his all. Although, I think we all know his heart lay elsewhere and he wanted to move back to Serie A 3yrs ago. That assist vs Brentford in the FA Cup was magnificent and clearly represents the climax of his Foxes career. The rest was an absolute disappointment and very underwhelming. Clearly a very talented footballer, but just a little too lightweight for the English game. Praet goes with my best wishes, but this chat on Foxes Talk needs closing now. He’s no LCFC legend. In summary, Dennis Praet was a talented and technical player but just wasn’t good enough for us. End of. Both parties move on. At £80k per week, a real waste of money over a very low key 5yr spell.

Will you pay £25 for a ST card?
Notting your mums forest replied to Bert's topic in Leicester City Forum
I’ve been using digital tickets all season. Personally, they’re ok and get you into the stadium. But they’re a little annoying and definitely less convenient to use than a card. As I go with my 2 boys and I have their tickets on my phone also, getting through the turnstiles can be a little frantic, but essentially it’s do-able. However, I much prefer the cards. The queues at the start of the season (and cup games) were horrendous before every match. I just think it is new technology and it takes people a while to get used to. For those thinking of taking a screen shot of the QR codes and sending to friends & family, I’m not so sure this works? The technology requires facial recognition on your phone i believe before it activates the turnstile. So a screenshot just causes a backlog in the turnstiles when they can’t enter, which further creates knock on effects of longer waits in the queue prior to the game. However, I’d love to be proved wrong and that screenshots of a match ticket actually work? This would make it an easy fix to give your ticket to friends and family if you can’t attend for whatever reason. -
For me regardless of whether we get promoted or not, I think we should be open to letting Wout Faes move on in the summer. He’s on £60k/week and I don’t even think he should be starting games for us. Vestergaard will leave for free as his contract is up, Doyle will go back to Man City, we should sell Faes, and use coady, Nelson, JJ and maybe reintegrate souttar. Matty Piper was 100% spot on last night on the radio about Faes epitomising casual arrogance. He makes so many defensive errors that often outweigh his strengths of dribbling forward. Hopefully we can find a buyer for him after he plays in the euros for Belgium…

Relegation form. Absolute mess. Bottling it again. Patch ourselves up and we go again vs Norwich on Monday -
I do like Fatawu and think we should be signing him up in the summer. But his performances since his red card at Coventry have been poor. Need him to step it up now and find his form again quick

Yunus Akgün Officially Signs!
Notting your mums forest replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Hoping I’ve got this massively wrong and Akgun turns out to be a fraction good as our previous Turkish maestro muzzy Izzet, but really not sure about this kid. I’ve watched him every game he’s played for us this season, and I’m struggling to see the case to make it permanent? Kinda hoping we don’t trigger his appearances this season whereby we become contractually obliged to buy him. Could be h s absolute class and is just struggling to adapt to English culture and LCFC, but he’s certainly not been pulling up any trees yet in 1st half of season -
Sammy Braybrooke - torn ACL
Notting your mums forest replied to moseeds's topic in Leicester City Forum
Anyone heard when sammy braybrooke is back? Hopefully not long now -
Hermansen poor, coady poor, winks shit, KDH shit, ndidi poor (but subbed too early for me), Daka shite, iheanacho shite. I don’t think Akgun is good enough and hope we don’t trigger his loan to buy option. BUT it is a point away from home against 2nd place, hence, not too bad. It hurts now and I’m so frustrated , but hopefully we will all wake up tomorrow and it’ll be a good point at the end of the day. I hope we go on and absolutely batter Cardiff now. Also, hope we get our act together and play Ipswich off the park on Jan 22nd at our place

Souttar to Rangers is all dependent on Rangers qualifying for the Champions League. Finely poised at present with Rangers drawing 2-2 with PSV at Ibrox. Fully expect a souttar bid IF Rangers get a result away in Eindhoven

So we head into the season with 5no. Goalkeepers then… unless we can win the national lottery and manage to actually sell some players for once?!!!
-
Daniel Iversen definitely the most saleable reserve goalkeeping asset we have. Actually, I like Iversen and think his shot stopping ability is excellent and his performance vs Everton at the back end of last season was a particular highlight. Iversen is apparently on £20k/wk. Ward is on £40k+ and no club in their right mind will pay a transfer fee and match that wage. I remember Leicester paying Liverpool £12.5M for Ward, certainly one of our very worst misjudgements in the transfer market of all time. Alex Smithies who has never even played a single minute of competitive football for us is on an unbelievably high £30k/wk, an absolutely shambolic and completely irresponsible shocking bit of management by Rudkin. Ward and Smithies certainly not leaving on their fat wages as they have it too sweet sitting on the bench every week earning massive wages and not doing anything, consequently Iversen will leave. Come 1st September when the transfer window closes, Iversen will be at one of our championship rivals for a ludicrously low transfer fee and we’ll be left with 4no. Goalkeepers (Hermansen, Stolarczyk, Ward & Smithies) and, as a result, Stolarczyk will have to leave on loan. Big fan of Stolarczyk as he was a real player for us in the academy set up. High hopes for him at LCFC. Iversen is a good keeper, just not suited to a possession based football club. Iversen, Ward and smithies need to leave now!

One can only assume that Soumare is off then? Not in squad again vs Burton. Wonder what the delay is with this? Strange that wantaway players like Castagne, Praet and Vestergaard are still being picked in match day squads, but Soumare and souttar are not getting picked? Keen for us to sell more deadwood before this month is out

10wks To Define The Club
Notting your mums forest replied to Daggers's topic in Leicester City Forum
Would that be the sam French winger from Derby? -
Just submitted my survey. This singing section is so important to our club and to our match day atmosphere. I hope it is encouraged and allowed to grow organically. Celtic, Rangers, Newcastle, even smaller clubs like Crystal Palace, all hugely benefit from having a passionate and vociferous match day atmosphere. Fans can be the 12th man if things are done correctly. I appreciate and sympathise that there will always be an element of some folk being bitter about having to move their seats from not wanting to be a part of a singing section, but encouraging likeminded fans to sit near to one another is important. Just hope the survey gets a good uptake and we can all look forward to another year of watching the singing section grow. Who knows, this survey may even lead to getting some safe standing infrastructure too.
