  1. Love this boy’s endeavour and intensity, but Wout Faes really worries me at times. Harry souttar looks good, but my mind still isn’t made up by Faes. Too dodgy for me
  2. Stoke are skint (albeit have incredibly wealthy owners). They have FFP issues themselves and it’s clear Stoke need to sell and we shouldn’t be getting fleeced. We just need to hold our nerve up until Tuesday deadline day
  3. Rumours Bertrand is on £80k/wk. Pretty much sums up the club’s precarious position when it comes to FFP & LCFCs turnover to wages ratio issues. It’s not Bertrand’s fault he gets paid so much, after all it was LCFC that offered him his contract. Really poor management of players contracts has been going on for a few years now at the club and sadly it pains me to say that the Bertrand contract is not alone. Poor contract management is effectively bleeding the club dry. Can’t wait till the summer to get rid of this bloodsucking leech Bertrand and we can all move on
  4. A definite talent, but such a frustrating player to watch. When he’s on, we can all admit he’s class. But he’s so inconsistent it is painful to watch! Should’ve netted twice in 1st half today against Forest, but everything he touched today was so clumsy and off the pace. I’m struggling to justify to myself that he’s better than Demarai gray. Danger of Barnes just not being able to realise his talent and wasting his career through being too indecisive. Painful!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Disaster! Desperate to go to this but sold out. Hoping MK Dons will release more tickets
  6. D Day…wasn’t today the latest in a series of target deadlines that the planners were supposed to meet on the stadium development? Planning Authorities are an utter shambles! They’re all still blaming covid for a backlog of work. Bureaucracy for bureaucracy sake. Get a move on!!! I have no doubt the delays are all local authority led, rather than the club having second thoughts. King Power realise that LCFC are at a bottleneck in the club’s growth and it is essential that the club need to increase revenue streams going forward in order to organically grow. Anyone know if the target deadline has been extended yet again?
  7. Anyone know if we have got a sell on clause with Calvin Bassey? Football can be a cruel game sometimes. Would love to see some of our squad’s dead wood mi Ed on and off our wage bill. But no takers for Bertrand, Vestergaard, etc. Maybe a nice sell % for Calvin Bassey to help kick start our summer refresh? I hear Brighton are sniffing and may offer up to £20M for Bassey!
  8. Tonight was one of the biggest matches in this clubs history and we didn’t even turn up. KDH and Fofana were decent, but so disappointed watching that dross. Unfortunately it is not a one off and these dull shows are becoming the norm with this LCFC team this season
  9. 11 vs 12 tonight. Referee shocking. Ricardo, Barnes, Vardy, Lookman, Tielemans all so poor. Damp squib. Such a poor performance and very hard to defend that shite. These dull performances are becoming the norm now. Great possession stats but it’s becoming boring tippy tippy for all and we’re not good enough to pass it into the opponents net. Need more shots and quality in the final third
  10. This isn’t a specific LCFC issue. It is an English football issue. Perhaps having a decent run in Europe has only magnified how clubs on the continent are absolutely miles ahead of English stadia atmosphere. The ultras culture on the continent is a real spectacle. I really appreciate what UFS are trying to establish over in the SK1/G1 corner, just a shame they don’t get more backing and wider support. Just seems that the English authorities are hell bent on stopping any ultra style atmosphere from developing organically. Must be a hangover of the 1970s/80s hooligan era? It isn’t a British thing, as both Ibrox & Parkhead have really intimidating ultras sections and have some of the loudest and best support in Europe. So why can Scottish ultras thrive and English stadia atmosphere be such a damp squib?
  11. Anyone know if sold out or if website has crashed? Just says coming soon?
  12. Just hope our stadium expansion gets built before Forest’s. I believe Forest are at the same stage as us in waiting for the Planners to pull their finger out. Funny thing is Forest have marketed their stadium expansion as stating The City Ground will be the largest stadium in the East Midlands when their stadium expansion is complete at 38,000. Just hope we nail them and complete our 40,000 stadium expansion first so Le Shitty Ground never holds that title ever again
  13. Big Dan has been arguably our most consistent performer this season. Personally, if the season was to finish now I think KDH should get Player of the Season, but Big Dan wouldn’t be far behind. I’d written Amartey off over the last couple of years and thought it was time to move him on, but so glad we kept him as we’ve really needed him with injuries to Evans & Fofana, Soyuncu being out of sorts and Vestergaard perhaps not being the signing that we all hoped he would be. Also, it’s clear he loves the club and is happy with his squad role. Throwing Chelski’s banner in the floor on FA Cup Final day was funny as well. He’s fast turning into a real cult hero of our club and long may it last as he’s still young.
  14. His performances this season have been well below par. But I think there is a player in there somewhere. Just wish his long range thunder bastard against Spartak Moscow went in instead of hitting the post. However, it often takes foreign players up to 1 whole season to adapt, so let’s not be too harsh on the lad. I will hold fire on judging him till next season I think…
  15. I know he used to play for leicester, but I fooking hate Alan smith. So biased to one of his other teams Arsenal. Dull as ditchwater to listen to as well
  16. Anyone know if this is sold out? Looking to get tickets but looks to have beff Ed n taken down from website.
  17. Gotta stop with all this negativity. We’ve got this…keep the faith. 3-0 LCFC. Tough moment in a tough season but there is still so much room for optimism going forward…fofana, Justin, vardy nearly back (Timmy not too far behind as well, young Luke Thomas & KDH break out seasons (KDH player of the season?), playing better than our results suggest. Brendan has just gotta get our defence working, haven’t got a scooby how big kolo is still in a job as defence coach.
  18. Around 20yrs ago I moved abroad, but I’ve always considered myself a leicester lad and have always followed the club through both the good and bad times, of which I am sure we can all agree there have been plenty over the years. The first time I went to Filbert street was in the 1990-91 season and I was hooked from the first time I went. After that first match, I regularly went to see the Foxes play and always admired our atmosphere. Albeit, this was Filbert street and in the Division 1 (championship) years. I went the to walkers stadium a lot when it first opened as well and again thought our atmosphere was ok. Anyway to cut to the chase, during the covid lockdown I moved back to Leicester after 20yrs away. A combination of family ties and wanting to bring up my boys as loyal LCFC fans (ensuring they wouldn’t fall foul to becoming your bog-standard boring plastic glory hunting ‘out of towner’ Man Utd or Liverpool fans - always important to back your local team). We have been members for the past few years, but it is our intention to get season tickets as soon as we can/have built up enough points. This season we’ve been to all home games and a couple of away days and we have purposely taken the opportunity to move around the stadium sitting in different sections for each game to help build up an idea for where we would ideally like to permanently sit should we be lucky enough to get season tickets. On this Foxes Forum, I hear a lot of negativity regards our atmosphere. Of course this is completely subjective and down to personal opinion, however, I personally don’t think it is fair to label our entire stadium atmosphere as terrible. I agree some sections are definitely awful and completely bereft of an atmosphere, but on the contrary some sections are actually very good. Perhaps I am in the minority here, but I am not a fan of the clappers every game. Maybe once or twice a season? The goal music is ok, but I do feel it takes away from the fan celebrations which can be deafeningly impressive without the need for stadium music. However, I do love the pre-match films of our classic goals, the video clips of the fox walking around the king power stadium and big Wes holding aloft the PL trophy. Still sends shivers down my spine every home game. Over the course of the season I have sat in the family stand, kop, L1, SK1, east stand, west stand, actually most home sections of the ground. Truth be told the quality of the atmosphere varies massively from section to section! My intentions are not to criticise any sections or offend anyone here, after all we’re all LCFC fans and I understand that my opinion may differ to others. In my experience I find whilst the west stand offers great pitch side views, our atmosphere is disappointingly poor in these sections. A lot of hospitality and higher priced seating perhaps? I suppose the thought of the ‘prawn sandwich hospitality brigade’ and a bouncing atmosphere kind of contradict one another. Family stand kind of does what it says on the tin. A really important part of the stadium that helps encourage the next generation. Atmosphere not bouncing, but ok for families and not too raucous or threatening at anytime. I’ve found P & P1 sections to be average. A mixture of some quiet fans watching the game, families and some singers who enjoy banter with the away sides. But I often find that P & P1 get completely drowned out by the away sides due to the sections not having enough of a singing presence. I don’t want to upset anyone who calls the SK4/C2 corner their home, but I really didn’t like it there. Very quiet and not much singing or banter at all. The stadium operations observatory would often bang on the windows telling people to calm down if any spectators got a little too passionate, which just kills any atmosphere. I always love sitting in the SK1/G1 corner. The atmosphere is always good, loud and entertaining. Good variety of old LCFC chants and some new ones too constantly getting belted out. Not keen on the additional security presence, nor do I understand why they are there with no away fans in that part of the stadium? As above, L1 is much the same too. Very loud and a lot of chants throughout. Although the main difference from SK1 is that you have the away fans element, which adds an extra spice if you like that sort of thing. Really didn’t like the sections in between SK1/G1 to L1 in the east stand though. The J & H sections have always been very quiet and the fans don’t sing in great numbers, which breaks the link between our stadiums 2 loudest sections SK1 and L1. Bit of an atmospheric vacuum and not great fun if you want to go to a football match and expect spectators to sing in large numbers. When we expand the east stand perhaps the club should have a think about what to do with this issue? I assume the east stand will be hospitality driven seating and much like the west stand, so L1 fans will likely be forced to move? My proposal would be to install rail seating to the entire Kop and combine SK1 (UFS) and L1. That way we could generate enough atmosphere in the kop whilst keeping the quieter sections of the stadium happy as well. All in I have enjoyed the SK1/G1 corner the most. The atmosphere there is always loud and personally I feel UFS do a great job 👏. I’d just love to see the UFS section expand and surely there is enough appetite from fans to increase this singing section here? I haven’t seen anything from LCFC yet regards safe standing, but I’d like to think the owners are looking into it as part of the upcoming stadium redevelopment. In summary, the subject of our stadium atmosphere and to argue whether it is poor really depends on where you sit in the ground. Even Anfield and Celtic Park, two of the UK’s loudest football stadiums, suffer from the same issue as we do at the king power stadium. Let’s get some rail seats and encourage our singing sections to grow. Perhaps a re-think/re-jig of certain sections may help as well in encouraging like-minded fans to sit together. We need the Kop to be as loud as it was back at Filbert Street and rail seats will certainly go a long way to improving our match day experience and ensure the king power is our 12th man and not a nice place for away teams to come and play football.
  19. Must be one of our worst purchases of all time I think. £13M and 3.5yrs wages and 2 appearances I think (Wigan fa cup 3rd round a couple years back and Fleetwood in league cup 2018). Ouch!
  20. Mwhahaha…thanks for sharing as that’s absolutely hilarious. Sounds like Forest don’t care about us after all 😳. I think it’s them with an inferiority complex and it’s amusing that all the ‘treeshaggers’ fall in line with constantly spouting about their party line of not caring about Leicester. All utter bullshit really and I’m sure true colours/feelings will be shown come game day. Although I do agree with the Forest fans, I hate seeing Forest & Derby fans on our Leicestershire turf. Thankfully this has reduced an awful lot over the past couple of decades as our clubs fortunes have fared very differently. Can’t wait for this game…
  21. There absolutely is a rivalry. Maybe not for any millennials who are too young to remember, but any game with Forest is huge. I went to school in north Leicestershire and at the time Forest were the more successful club. The amount of shit we took off the forest fans was painful, so getting one over on them whenever we can is an absolute must. Can’t wait for this game!
  22. Benko cost us £13m! An absolutely huge fee at the time for a young player from the Croatian league. If he doesn’t play tomorrow then he’s finished at our club. Would love to see him actually start for us tomorrow as I thought he’d turn out to be a really special player for us, but certainly not counting on it. Was really excited to see the lad play, but think it’s time we all move on.
  23. Didn’t Norwich make a request to postpone their game with West Ham prior to Christmas due to a covid outbreak. Then 2wks later they seemingly have another covid outbreak?! I’m self isolating so couldn’t make Saturdays game (if it was on), but I will go to the re-arranged fixture hopefully. But all a bit disappointing really. Completely subjective of course, but I believe the best outcome for LCFC would have been to play the fixture on the intended date. Yes, Norwich are short on players, but they’re certainly no worse off than us. Re-arranging later in January would be unfair as we would lose our AFCON players, which would help Norwich. Re-arranging for February onwards isn’t ideal either as LCFC have European commitments, whereas Norwich have nothing. Plus, what happens if Norwich go out and spend big in January and buy their way out of trouble (doubtful I know) and then when LCFC play Norwich in the re-arranged fixture their new signings go on to win the match for them? I guess what I’m trying to say is just get the game played FFS. If teams can’t play their 1st team, then they should be made to play their kids…
  24. I had 8yrs living in glasgow and have a few Celtic pals. They really rated Benkovic under Brendan when he was on loan there. Apparently that 1st half of the season he was on loan at Celtic he was immense, but the 2nd half of the season he got injured and struggled to get back in the team. So I think Brendan knows there’s a player there somewhere. But what concerns me is that Benko has had a few loan spells elsewhere now (OH Leuven, Bristol City & Cardiff) and none of them can be deemed a success. Also, Brendan has previously said Benko simply isn’t ready for Premier League football yet. His time is gone with us I fell, but nonetheless I really think we will need him on Saturday (vs Norwich) as it’s proper bare bones in our squad with injuries, covid & AFCON
