  1. Actually - im more strategic. I think he keeps us up, but its a terrible turgic experience that leaves everyone cold and wanted to move on. But we stay up. Replace next season whilst recycling dead wood and recruiting wisely. I think we get a better candidate when the season is over. Appreciate that involves making good decisions about a few things
  2. Yes. Forest were excellent defensively and were happy to press hard and counter us. They had about 36% possession but twice as many shots and big chances. The thing that stood out to me was the pace and accuracy their wingers had, which meant they could easily exploit one of JJ or Riccy on the counter. Just better players than us, and our system played into their hands.
  3. Really dont want to watch that.
  4. I think its an excuse to say that the second goal drained our confidence. This team has proven a few times that going behind isn't a huge issue for them (certainly had to get used to it). I'm sure it was a sucker punch but there should have been enough confidence from the first half display to at least ensure we competed. The shift came because Nuno tweaked the tactics to compensate and Cooper had no answer. Sure, the 3rd goal is another mess up but we were horrible around that time and Forest were bossing it.
  5. I don't think its been rammed down our throats. I've only seen an insta post and a youtube video, all that i could ignore if i chose to. Seems to be a small amount of relevant people in attendance. I don't really see why the owners shouldn't hold it this way to be fair.
  6. In fairness to Cooper, last season Maresca's system for us was largely undone by quickly doubling up the wingers and flooding the center of the pitch. It's how some pretty average Championship teams had success against us and Maresca struggled to have an answer to it in the latter games of last season. We largely got through because Southampton were predictable and we scrapped through games like West Brom. This isn't Coopers system, so once it stopped working i don't think he had any clue how to deal with it. It pains me to say it but i think with our squad, the Maresca system is too easy to nullify. I think we always beat a Russell Martin team with it because he is more one dimensional, but any decent PL team will have an answer to it and then its up to us to make no mistakes which isn't happening!. Cooper is likely going to have to revert to his previous more defensive setups (expect more Ayew) and use the Maresca system as his trump card. I don't expect to see Riccy starting a PL game anytime soon. One last thing from me on the team setup, it really pisses me off that the the youth options (especially Kasey but also Alves) are omitted from the squad. Fatawu must be knackered by the 70th minute when he has 3 good players all over him. I would much sooner see Kasey come on than Ayew in this sort of game.
  7. It’s not a rule. But I thought they took it into consideration for VAR as part of the whole clear and obvious error stuff.
  8. He was never getting the ball though.
  9. Problem is, unless Fatawu is gliding past defenders for fun, people seem to think he is horrible. He put in big shift yesterday and at times had 3 defenders on him and he felt like one of our biggest threats. But yesterday is where his inexperience shows and he will learn from games like this. Justin i agree with - and he is an experienced head as well. Sadly, Forest are pretty decent and showed it in the 2nd half. They flooded the middle of the pitch and the wings and we had no answer. I'm not sure how much Cooper is in control of all this. He played the Maresca system when the players aren't having the patterns of play drilled into them. You could see Okoli was struggling with the setup which is hardly surprising as the shape puts a lot of pressure on the defence. When the changes came, I had no idea what our setup was anymore. It still doesn't feel right. But the PL is a bitch and you get hammered like this when you aren't on it.
  10. Funny that last season the inverted role was largely panned on here and described as the biggest problem with the team. Seams we are all pining for it right now. I would like to see it for this game. Going to be fun.
  11. Riccy isn't starting. Just don't see it. Think he will go Cooper formation in the first half, and likely start Ayew as he will see Forest as more of a threat than Southampton. He knows the Maresca formation works now so can revert to that if he needs a change, but i think he is likely to go with his preferred option to begin with.
  12. Rotate winks skipp and Ndidi. Ndidi gonna get injured at some point anyway, and winks looks better after a bit of a break.
  13. Did the muppet not see the games last year. press these. Don’t let them be comfortable on the ball. cooper has no clue at all.
  14. With the other fixtures going on a won would be massive! Lets just go for it!
  15. Nah - a well thought out Cooper draw in coming.
  16. This does get said every week. Martin isn't a 'flying out of the traps kind of manager', and we find a way to compete every game. My fear here is that Cooper sticks to form and doesn't realise the way to beat these is press them. At home a few months ago we were swarming pressing maniacs and they had no answer to it at all. Sure, we no longer have KDH but most of those who contributed to that day are still in the side. I think Cooper will see playing like that as too risky, especially away. If we let Southampton control the ball then you could see Martin's team actually play they way he wants, and the game will be down to if Southampton could actually score against us and if we can do anything on the counter. Don't know if international duty hinders selection or not (certainly can become an easy excuse for Cooper). My opinion here is that us setup properly using our resources to their full potential, we should be winning this 0-2 or 1-3. I think Cooper will setup cautiously and use the international break as an excuse not to start Fatawu (and probably Buonanotte). Also interesting to see if Ndidi starts after the ordeal the Nigeria team had. A cautious Cooper probably draws this 1-1 or scraps a 1-2 win where we cling on again in the 2nd half. Can Cooper win away? Probably won't have a better chance this season
  17. He's never said this though has he. Vestergaard played 2 and didn't look out of place in either, 1 being a very attacking Spurs team in a game we drew.
  18. Just done the Harbs park run in 23min exact. All knees and ankles seem ok. Very happy with myself. Good luck to those doing the Leicester half
  19. Which is a worry - as they might get someone decent in. It would be early enough for them to turn their season around. Really need him there as long as possible.
  20. Thats nice. Pretty much seeing none of that here.
  21. Ha! Good spot! He isnt playing Riccy
  22. Fatawu had the game of his life against these. Got to start surely. Need to press their defence to within an inch of their lives. Mads JJ Faes Okoli Vik Skipp Ndidi Fatawu Buonanatte Mavididi Vardy
  23. These are 1 point and scored 4 goals levels of shit. Their GD is -11. We are the next level up from the turd that is Martins Southampton. We are a nasty dog poo compared to their rancid Cow dung. But, you have to press these, and press them hard, as we did at the KP last season. Martin isn't going to adapt his style for anyone, and a defensive setup will play into their hands. We have to be swarming over their playing out of the back and getting them to pass sideways / backwards. We have to go for this one. Win it, and we find ourselves in a pretty decent position all of a sudden. Bournemouth have Arsenal so we could jump ahead of them, and Wolves have Man City. Great opportunity this. Got to take it.
  24. When i watch a Postecoglou interview, i feel like i am a fly on a wall during a therapy session and i expect to hear that the reason spurs lost is because he doesn't think his mum loved him enough when he was 4. Eyes to the floor, sounds so down and constantly dejected. That has to rub off on the players. He can't just be like that in front of the camera. Sad to say that i just don't think he's cut out for all this.
  25. Both he and Buonanotte were done at 70mins and needed taking off. Buonanotte left on far too long, but i think JJ wont get rotated with Ricky until he get injured.
