If you can't stop yourself going straight through a player after a tackle then your not in control. It's never a pen 10yrs ago. But is a pen 100% of the time now.

Gwan laddddddd

That's such a strange tackle.

Looks to me like he played 30 times last season for Monza who finished mid table in Serie A. Not exactly 'crocked for the last 4 years. Seems like they wanted to sign him but couldn't afford him or Inter didn't want to sell. We haven't really backed a massive dud yet under Enzo. Doyle, Mavididi, Winks, Fatawu and Cannon have been gold dust while Akgun and Casadei are starting to come good. Based on that i wouldn't mind Sensi coming in as a back up option who can do what Enzo wants in terms of passing the ball.
-
If he comes in and Praet goes out it's a zero sum gamble.

I think we need to play like at Ipswich with that kind of intensity and looking for the quick pass when they press on. If we approach it at walking pace like a home game v Huddersfield then we might come unstuck... unlike at ipswich, if we get on top we need to go for them.
-
I've got a sneaking suspicion he will drop KDH though and continue the Yunus/Casadei approach. Which may explain KDH's slight cob on on Saturday.
-
Interesting toss up between Casadei and Yunus for No8 spot. JJ/Ricardo and Doyle for LB spot. Othe than that I think it picks itself. I'd go Hermansen JJ Vestergaard Faes Ricardo Winks Fatawu Yunus KDH Mavididi Cannon

Cannon is light years ahead of Daka IMO with regards to the variation of his play, speed of decision and strength on the ball. Daka perhaps makes better near post runs whereas Cannon seems to favour checking back to the penalty spot (very small number of games to go on) so there's still lots for him to work on. Also keen to see how he is in the air when presented with a headed chance, which we haven't seen much of yet.
-
Worth noting that we changed our entire back four and goalie vs the Hudd game as well. So Stola, Ricardo, Nelson, Coady, Doyle came in vs Hermansen, Justin, Faes, Vestergaard, Ricardo.
-
Zonal marking relies on individuals being rapid in their reaction when the ball comes into their area. We have a lot of players for whom that isn't a strength - i'd count vest, justin, coady in that whereas, Faes, Ricardo, Doyle are better. That's where the work needs done. You can still be ready to attack the ball or make things difficult for the opposition even if you aren't specifically tasked with marking a person or 'being the defender who attacks the ball first'. Hermansen is a good catcher and puncher but is told to stay home i believe.

I think Everton have dropped a serious bollock selling Cannon and were clearly trying to balance the books. He's worth way more than £7.5m if initial signs are anything to go by. Can score all sorts of goals, makes good runs and puts himself about. -

Leicester had 43 goals (our top 7 scorers) and 22 assists not on the pitch and yet still looked composed and super threatening away from home against a team that is in good form over past 5 games.- 234 replies

Hermansen Justin Vestergaard Faes Ricardo Winks Fatawu Akgun KDH Mavididi Cannon Would bring Doyle on for 25mins, Casadei and Choudhury for Justin, Akgun if we need to shore things up without conceding too much ground. Hopefully Vardy or Kel there to back up Cannon.

Cannon could/should have had a hat trick. Very vardy sequence, when the confidence comes he will be a nightmare. -

The aim was get through, keep some momentum for Cannon, Akgun and Casadei and give some squad players / returning players a run. All were achieved amazingly. Cannon is a willing runner and players are getting attuned to it. Casadei has sped up.his thinking and puts his shirt in. Akgun the same, can play a role at 8 and 10. Ricardo starting to click getting forward which was when he was at his best. Doyle is 1 game back in after a serious knee injury. He will speed up. Choudhury is a good option when we need to tighten up the game as we run in. Nelson very comfortable on the ball, not very dominant in defence. Coady understandably rusty. Wanya pretty poor -

Who do you want for next season in the PL
FosseSpark replied to Fightforever's topic in Transfer Talk
I'd want Joachim Andersen to play the Vestergaard role. Doing great but going nowehere at Palace. Would be playing in front of Danish colleague Hermansen and can pass a football pretty well. Should be a good sell in if the fee is right. There's the added benefit is first name is Joachim, so we already have 4 or 5 songs up our sleeve for him. for me Faes is a real 50./50 for the prem. Too good for a shit league but needs to cut out the diving in / giving the ball away stuff if we go up and really kick on -
Be fun if Rodon returned to Spurs too.

I have no doubt Ndidi has a 2-3 week injury which would rule him out of most the group stages. So no use taking him. Akgun and Casadei can / will need to step up in his absence. Iheanacho was billed as ill for his initial absence last week and so i'd be surprised if he doesn't make it to AFCON. He absolutely loves representing his country and they stand half a chance of making latter stages. The only issue this raises for me is whether Vardy will be fit at any point to rotate with Cannon during January. Would be loathe to just have Cannon for a whole 4 or 5 week period as he could easily get a flare up of his back or associated issue. Regarding Ndidi. he has been good going forward but has lost about 50% of his physicality over the last couple of years, which must be down to 1 or 2 of the long term injuries he has had. He NEVER thunders into a challenge now and rarely overpowers/massively extends himself to win a ball the way he he used to. His legs used to be telescopic and he mad more interceptions/blocks and tackles than anyone in Europe. Anyone who signs him now will not be getting 'top 5 Leicester' Ndidi. His mini renaissance is based more on a 'better than expected performance with the ball at this feet, at a lower standard' than it is him being back to Prem dominating fitness/form. Not doing him down, but also think rumours of his reinvention have been a bit over exaggerated!

Should definitely go in for Jordan James and ship Praet. a front six of Winks, KDH, James, Fatawu, Mavididi, Cannon and we would hit 120 points. He plays in that half way line to inside right channel which is exactly what we need with Ndidi at AFCON and possibly off.
-
He's a terrible option for us at present as he is AWFUL with ball at his feet. Good shot stopper and general keeper but in the back half of prem last season he showed he can't pass the ball (remember the 10 kicks out of play per match trying to hit the left back?) Best if he joined a team that doesn't play from the back and he'll have a chance to thrive.
