  1. I absolutely agree and the small boats problem needs addressing. The issue is, the reform narrative is not just about those committing crimes. There are criminals and awful people of all colours in this country, same as there are benefit scroungers as well as thoroughly hardworking and good people of all colours. The focus should be on being proactive and prevention whereas the reform narrative is about wait for them to get here, detain and deport. There’s some good work being done around finding the smuggling gangs. Target at source. Make the country less desirable by not having such a soft and easy to access benefits system and that goes for home grown people too. Make the justice system tougher but fair. Like I say, make it less desirable for people to come and target the source. Many people will share the view I have explained and think Reform are vile.
  2. And what about the behaviour of people like on the video Stan posted? That ok because of his colour?
  3. Another example of what Reform stand for…. Surprised the mum and daughter played on it so much. Sick behaviour all round.
  4. Oops 😬 https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cr7pm71rvkvo London tax payers covering the cost of West Ham getting relegated then!
  5. I do imagine he will stay. But the values thing is difficult as many of these like Braybrooke, Nelson, Stolarcryk have a year left so the value we might want won’t be what someone will pay. If the player doesn’t plan to sign an extension, what do we do? But then again, we do let players leave on frees rather than taking the chance to get a fee when we can so….. I also suspect Braybrooke is one we could sort out an extension for if we were capable as a club, of doing anything!
  6. He’s got talent but just doesn’t seem suited to coping with adversity. Like pretty much everyone we have signed since 2016, lacking in mental strength. Probably have a good season for West Ham in the Championship if they stick with him.
  7. They’ve barely ever been in a league higher than us and it is the first time in history they have been 2 higher. It’s peak circumstances in terms of our fans coming out the woodwork and ours hiding.
  8. Funny how the media try and spin things to make sound so much more impressive. Semenyo - non league to fa cup https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cj9pz9rnywzo So basically, came through a championship academy in Bristol City and did a few games on loan at Bath when he was 18! What about Wes Morgan‘s journey from non-league (few games at Kidderminster in his younger days at Forest) to FA cup glory
  9. I mean the most relevant bit is right after the bit you have bolded but you have omitted. Safety for him and his family? A lot of people want to retire early if they can afford it or at least do something part time that is enjoyable. If you want the documentary and see how he looked 10 years ago to now, then tell me it’s worth it for him…
  10. Pretty sure Ben Marshall was the terrible culture! I’m not cherry picking moments out like you have. That situation wasn’t Pearson’s best moment of course. I am talking overall, the health of the club. The stuff behind the scenes, sports science, scouting, players playing for the shirt. You’ll always be able to pick out one or two like you have but Wes Morgan? James? Drinkwater? Vardy? Huth? Kante and Fuchs were Pearson/Walsh signings. The club was in such good health then. My point was how everything has deteriorated since they left.
  11. Class The guy scrambling up onto the van to try and turn it off
  12. Different people have different ways of living I guess but if I had earned the amount he has working for the club, I’d damn we’ll be retired by 58, particularly given the issues with family safety. Although some of those points you said, whilst obviously speculative, would explain looking deeply unhappy.
  13. Definitely. I’m surprised there’s been barely a mention of it (lack of deduction for next season) on here. Whatever your thoughts on how we will do, it’s very relevant. If you think we’ll be challenging for promotion or playoffs, you’d imagine now Wednesday are sorted and on a level playing field, so will they. If you think we will be struggling at the wrong end, Wednesday being on -15 would have been helpful.
  14. If you’re Vardy and going to return to England, to play in L1 and on L1 wages, you’d be looking to go to Wednesday over us at this stage anyway. He’s got nothing else to prove to himself here. Whereas returning for a season where it started as a child, where his story nearly never started, to get them back up would be more appealing for him you’d think.
  15. Interesting to see how Rudkin looked on the couple of times he briefly appeared on the Vardy documentary. Obviously the first being when he signed with Whelan the other side. He appeared again on the footage inside the tunnel area and looked so naturally smiling and healthy. Fast forward to now, every time you see him he looks like a zombie, no emotions, and a lot of weight put on around the neck/face. It paints a picture of an unhappy man. I know people say he stays for the money and power but why? He could earn well being moved to another part of the KP business. Is money/power worth it if it causes that type of deterioration in your physical appearance and mental state (reading between the lines on the latter).
  16. Watching this just made me sad and wish for those Pearson times based again, before Aiyawatt, Rudkin and a less extent, Vichai, pulled it all apart. Players who cared, crowd invested and passionate. What happened? I hadn’t realised all that birth father thing had happened to him, seemingly from the documentary, after the Man Utd 11 heaven game, before the next game away at Swansea. Makes you wonder if he’d have extended the scoring streak even further if that hadn’t happened! Though maybe just one where it was always going to end that day after having beaten it.
  17. Everyone is free to do as they please. However, we all know what to expect from the club by now so by allowing them to continue as normal by ‘supporting’ them, it does mean you can’t really complain about things continuing to go wrong.
  18. You just have to ask yourself, if you were suddenly in charge of Forest or Coventry and actively wanted to tank them, what would you do? And would it be any different to Aiyawatt’s ownership of us….
  19. AFC Fylde away and sneak Danny Ormerod on the coach on the way back to satisfy @Ric Flair?
  20. Yep, but it’s not like the starting position under RvN even needed inflating to illustrate the point being made. The fact we beat both quite comfortably at the end of the season and finished at least highest of the relegated 3, to see the seasons all 3 have had this season is shocking.
  21. It is a chance to play Harborough Town before we are in the same league as them in a few years now you mention it!
  22. Worth noting that Ranieri being later was different as we didn’t go into that summer knowing a change was coming, until circumstances post season caused it. Similar with Cooper replacing Maresca. What it shows is just how bad last summer was. The fact it took the about 3 months from when we were officially down to getting a manager…no other club is so incompetent. It’s no wonder we are prepared for more of the same this time!
  23. I get what you mean about a churn being needed, refresh the fan base is the point I guess. Question is though, is it the right section of fans that have been lost? Probably not. Most of those who have not renewed are those who really care and would get behind the team and make an atmosphere if there team was one you could get behind. The likelihood is, we have retained the ones that just sit there and moan unless it’s time to clap a them off after another diabolical performance or resort to physical violence against anyone calling out the club’s incompetence. It will be interesting to see how the match day attendees are next season and the atmosphere as a result.
  24. Both posts correct. At most you can say fair enough for being able to admit a mistake and put it right. But if that’s the most that can be mustered as a way of crediting KP for what we achieved, it’s a rather tenuous link to praise them on.
  25. 13 years ago today…Deeney Day! Probably benefited us in the long run but f*** it was a tough day!
