  1. Above poster is correct . Most People probably wont want to buy for a stranger on the Internet in their name. Not that i particularly want a united fan in the home end and not because i want the club to make any more money from membership but if you are genuine, and as you say you are willing to pay good price, id say buy a membership and get one of the "lower" priced tickets still available. Probably closer to the truth is its likely still going to be cheaper than travel to Manchester and a united home ticket for a gameπŸ˜‚.
  2. I agree . Im not one to be negative for negative sake and i dont get irate at every single decision that is made but i think this is half a job. Its good we are getting standing areas but it is a half measure. It doesnt fully satisfy the ones who wanted a large standing area and it possibly upsets those that sit and whose view may be obstructed.
  3. I am a little annoyed by this. Maybe unnecessarily, time will tell. My concern as a member is that we will not be able to get a 2 tickets together in a standing area, as they are small areas and may be filled with ST holders (fair enough ST holders can choose where they are located) before i get my chance to buy a ticket. I will not sit at football. Never have, never will. Im assuming there will now be a gestapo style clampdown on standing in seated areas, like the front of sk1 will be. If thats the case i simply wont go. It may seem a small thing to many but standing is a big thing when watching football, for me. Sitting just doesnt feel right and i dont enjoy it as much. I did do the survey and also spoke to the people on the stall near the club shop before one of the games and gave my opinion as well as mentioning safe standing in every questionaire the club sent about the match day experience, so i did what i could. Im amazed that more people didnt do the survey...why????? it took literally less time than it does to post a moan on social media!!
  4. You absolutely arent alone. We save tickets and badges from away grounds, programmes etc as keepsakes if that's the right word. I have a ticket from a 1992 league cup game against arsenal in there somewhere i imagine there are lots of "saddos" like us
  5. The cynic in me thinks this may have been intentional/targeted. I have no evidence of this but the one place in all of the ground youd expect to be a standing area, the front of sk1 around UFS would be that area
  6. At the very least id have expected the whole of sk1 to be standing. It makes no sense
  7. This was my first thought. Resistance needed to sitting. Theyve done half a job
  8. Vardy and ayew could be on it for a start. Cant see their value going up like its supposed to with antiques though
  9. Well said brian. Even back then there was too much slobbering.
  10. People moan about it but it does feel a bit more like real football and not a show or technical exercise. Anyone can beat anyone else and i read somewhere that its in the top 5 best attended league in Europe. Im not disputing the talent gap with the prem but generally it has more entertaining games and real fans
  11. There are moments, but they are less and less common these days. But its only those moments that make me keep coming back, its like you know how it can feel at times and you put up with soulless stadia and dull games and t-shirt cannons and light shows and 5 subs (it should be 3 max - im not going to argue, if anyone is inclined) breaking up every second half of every game and montages and sh*t poems, and f**king VAR, just for those moments......well i do anyway. Preston away, winner at Southampton this season and mavididi equaliser at Chelsea last season are the highlights for me over quite a long period now. They are the ones ive come away thinking "that was a good experience /day". Ill admit, im probably not the target customer these days, i shout, i sing, i stand, i swear and boo when i think it's justified and spend nothing in any ground. Im probably getting old too and for the younger generation its becoming the norm. I just dont think i would have become a lifelong fan or got excited about it, like i did at filbo, if I started going now. I certainly wouldn't support another pro club. Im digressing quite a bit now from the original post so ill stop πŸ˜‚
  12. Normal service is resumed
  13. Im with you there. The only full games i ever watch now are leicester games and this season , thats not all that often. Obscene money. VAR. Ticket prices you need a loan for. Hardly any "blood and thunder" games anymore. Contact/real tackles being slowly outlawed. Obsession with possession. A million pointless stats. 3 levels of european competition and even the top one is heavily diluted. Stupid kick off times. Yesterday only 3 top flight games kicked off at 3pm. Lack of characters. Lack of local players making it to the first team..instead unheard of players from abroad, here mainly for the payday taking their place. Less and less traditional grounds (replaced with quiet bowls). Offside rule that's a mathematical puzzle to solve. Loud music killing any post match singing (rare for us these days). Big (even not so big) clubs not caring about the cup competitions. Clubs rinsing kids and parents for every penny (autographs/signing cards). Yeah its a different game to the one i grew up with too. Premier league especially. Its a wonder i still bother to be honest. Its less and less these days in truth. So, no Leicester, i wouldn't support anyone else. Few grassroots games or experience games abroad in countries where money isnt the be all and end all.
  14. Oooh.....ashby friends πŸ˜‚. Sorry lads , couldnt resist
  15. It always used to be forest and derby for me. It didn't help i did my training courses at Loughborough college and had to mix with "them".. But i moved to Rugby (which is largely cov city country) about 12 years ago and i unfortunately have to spend time in cov for work and family stuff. The hatred for us there is unreal. Some literally foam at the mouth at the mention of leicester city πŸ˜‚. My daughter is a leicester fan too and at school with cov fans and she is still sent videos and ribbed 3-1....despite that being over a year ago, not to mention the fact we actually beat them at our place! That truly was their biggest day out and achievement for years that day. So for me these days, it's cov. Tools of the highest order
  16. Its a fair point. Buying just for the point and selling on takes the p*ss morally. But its a double edge sword really for us members. We dont usually get a sniff of tickets at popular aways (when we aren't in abysmal form) so the only way we get to go is if we buy one from ST holders selling them on. Digital will stop all that in any case, rightly or wrongly
  17. This thread has made me re-watch the goal on youtube. I had forgotten about the awful forward roll celebration.....πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Legend
  18. Exactly this. I wont pay over 50 on a Saturday at 3pm when football is supposed to be played, never mind 7pm on a Sunday night. What a time. Looks like lots of people think similarly . People nees to get work stuff ready, get kids sorted bathed in bed early for school. Combination of things . Vastly overpriced, crap time and we are awful
  19. Wembley fell silent for what felt like an eternity, im glad it isn't just me who thought that. There seemed to be a huge delay from the ball hitting the net to our end going up.....in a big way. Agree too that it was possibly the most euphoric single moment I've been in. I was bang in line with the ball when he hit it (it would have hit me if there was no net and it could have travelled far enough). I knew it was in the second he struck it.......but still that silence for a moment. Weird how clear these things stay with you and then i dont remember what i had for tea yesterday! Didnt look like a footballer but great signing and as someone else said....proper cult hero .
  20. I bought a ticket to a gig from ticket master. That had a moving barcode. I believe the code changed every couple of minutes. The top and bottom of it was that the ticket couldn't be passed on or re-sold
  21. Young un recently asked me do goal nets have to be square?. I didnt know the answer . They didnt used to be and i, along with lots of others most likely, would be able to tell you what ground you were at just by looking at the goal in many cases. I remember seeing foreign games as a kid and being in awe of the loose nets or how far back they went. It made goals look better than a lot of english nets that were so tight the ball just bounced out or hit a stantion and the net didnt ripple. Filbert street was like this at times .It wouldn't surprise me if these days there is a law stating clubs must have certain style of nets. Anyway im displaying my geeky side here..... Im a big boxing geek too and had a similar question as to when the 4 rope (rather than 3) ring became standard. Well....if anyone is as geeky as i can be, i found the article below interesting https://that1980ssportsblog.blogspot.com/2016/11/goal-nets-posts-and-stanchions-of-1980s.html?m=1
  22. Watching the man city game. Those high electronic advertising hoardings are awful. Ive lost the ball about 3 times already. But who cares about the viewer/fans.....those hoardings are money makers
  23. I did nou camp on the day Ronaldinho signed. Helicopter landed near ground and tour guide assured us it was ronaldinho......he could have just been sexing up his tour though πŸ˜‚. Good tour . Allowed in the stands, dugouts. Museum was good. Unhurried. Then to top off the day.... i got arrested on the metro. Someone snatched my wallet so i gave chase and put in a rugby tackle martin Johnson would have been proud of. Unfortunately for me the Spanish police only saw the part where an English man attacked a Spanish youth and after about 6 hours of detention they eventually accepted my version of events ......true story!
  24. Day by the seaside when the weather is getting better. Id go the other way and say it will be popular regardless of how crap we are
