ForFoxSake - The Post Match Analysis Thread
orangecity23 replied to StriderHiryu's topic in Leicester City Forum
I enjoyed the post game analysis video, thought it was very helpful. I missed the game entirely, so being able to get an in depth idea to how things played out was interesting, especially as the highlights and analysis on Match of the Day etc tend to be so minimal, and most of the pro media stuff tends to spend the bulk of its time slurping the big 6 and ignoring everything else. -
Robert Huth appointed Loans Manager
orangecity23 replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Wanya Marcal needs a loan too, you'd think there would have been some interest, he got a few games spotlight last season, scored a goal vs Cardiff and played well against Bournemouth in the cup. Surely there must be someone at Championship or League 1 level who coud do with a winger like that on loan. Signed a new contract last season too, so since he seems nowhere near the first team, needs to be out and playing some games to avoid stagnation. -
When Rudkin phones them up for the next bid, he should kick off the call with a classic "Suprise, we are back, Mathfackers"

RIP Sven, sad to see a true gentleman of the game gone.

We have no strikers fit, too many centre backs - sod it, stick Wout up front. He's already matched 3 of Jordan Ayew's Premier League seasons for goalscoring.
-
So if that's a two year deal at 5 + 3 million add ons - does that mean 2.5 million of amortisation this year, but (potentially) 5.5 million on next years budget? Ouch. Thats the equivalent of a 22 million quid signing on a 4 year deal. Anyway, nothing we can do about it now. Hope he does well for us, at least its a versatile player for the bench if nothing else.

Jordan Ayew (interest confirmed by Percy)

Spend all day on deadline day on a dud, then it falls through at 11pm leaving us without even the dud. -

orangecity23 replied to iancognito's topic in Transfer Talk
You can feel it coming, can't you? 33 million on Skipp and Ayew committed, "hopeful of getting 2" more attacking players. Next week it becomes "hopeful of 2 more, might need some departures". Deadline day "Hoping for a loan, as soon as a couple go out on loan". Then run out of time, whoops, never mind, at least we've got Ayew in. that'll sort us out until January, surely we'll sell Soumare then, the last 4 times we tried didn't work but we've got a good feeling this time. -
That's the beauty of signing Ayew. Doesn't score any goals, so no chance of putting anyone off

Still scored 2 goals in his time here. Which, according to Wiki, means he managed to match what Ayew managed when he was in the Championship with Villa. Yunus also had a pretty good game against Bournemouth in the cup, so there's a slim chance that if he played a game or 2 against Prem teams this season he might manage to scuff 1 goal in. Which would be enough to match the achievements of Jordan Ayew, who has achieved a one goal prem season on 3 seperate occasions. EDIT: A big part of the reason he couldn't get a game was because we were trying to avoid triggering the obligation to sign him, because we are right up against the wall financially with PSR problems. Which is another reason why we shouldn't be spending 8 million chuffing pounds on a 33 year old striker with awful stats and no resale value. -

orangecity23 replied to iancognito's topic in Transfer Talk
Based on Wikipedia Goals per Appearance on their LCFC runs vs Ayew at Palace: Shinji = 0.1386 Goals per game Albrighton = 0.0607 goals per game Tete = 0.07 Goals per Game Ayew at Palace = 0.108 Goals per Game - somewhat skewed by a 9 goal season at the beginning of his time there. Look at his stats since 2020/21 season, you get: Ayew 20/21 to now: 0.08 Goals per Game So Ayew is considerably worse than Shinji, barely better than Albrighton (who never had the chance to play as a Striker like Ayew did), about the same as Tete, and, to put it all together, he costs more than all 3 of them combined AND all 3 of them came to Leicester in their 20s, and weren't 33 years old signing a (probable) 3 year deal with zero resale value. I've got no problem with BDCR on a free, sure, hard working, free transfer, no problem. Up to 8 million on a 33 year old is stupid though. We could have had Yunus for less than that, and if the only pros are occasional goal and hard work, he did do both of those things, and would have had some resale value. Could have given him a 4 year deal, so would have been less of a hit on the amortisation as well. -

14 appearances for Tete and 1 goal - that's a strike rate about what Jordan Ayew manages in a "good" season -

izzett and Elliott both scored goals in the promotion season that was the first at the KP, so if some of those goals were at home they count too. Looking at the History section, I think there's a fair chance Scowcroft is on there too. Tricky Trev got one goal in his first season, so if that was a Filbo goal he's an outside bet too. -

Interestingly, Spurs fans at the game were chanting about hating Sol Campbell. Must have left them over 20 years ago and they haven't let that go -

I think that's just Chris Kavanagh doing his usual Chris Kavanagh things. -
Greek stiker Fotis I-a-no-needthiskindoftrouble closing in on deal to complete the acquisition of one shitty stick. Said to be delighted with the purchase, and the ability it will grant him to not touch Leicester City with it. Shitty stick is in high demand though, and top players over Europe are all keen to make a deal for it, in the hopes of keeping Jon Rudkin as far away as humanly possible.

Winning scorer for Southampton has a surname that sounds like the noise your Da makes when sneezing. -
So compared to last season, we've lost KDH, Praet, Casadei, Yunus and Nacho from the attacking and midfield positions. Then gained Buenonotte and BDCR instead. Plus, I guess, a want away Bouba Soumare back into the squad from a numbers perspective, at least up until we get mugged off with a loan with option offer for him from an Italian club later. Any chance we do something about this anytime soon? We'll struggle to fill a bench at this rate. No need to worry though, still 15 days left. ... No need to worry, still 14 days left and they wouldn't have made the Spurs game anyway ... No need to worry, we were always going to lose heavily to Spurs anyway, maybe this will encourage the board to get some players in ... No need to worry, still a week to go ... No need to worry, Fulham is always a tricky place to go, form will pick up soon ... No need to worry, just because Cannon took a blow in the back, I'm sure he'll run that off soon ... No need to worry, just because we have no fit strikers for several weeks, we'll get one in late in the window, once other clubs do some business to get things moving ... No need to worry, still a few hours of the window left ... No need to worry, I bet we had a deal sheet in as the deadline passed ... No need to worry, summer window is always difficult to do transfers in. I'm sure we'll re-inforce in January if needed, gives Rudkin several months to get a headstart on negotiating some deals ...

Tottenham (H) - Mon 19 Aug 8pm - Pre-Match Thread
orangecity23 replied to lnkstern's topic in Leicester City Forum
If bissouma wanted a laugh he should have just watched the highlights of us Vs Lens. Could have pissed himself laughing with no chemical assistance required at all, then enjoyed a leisurely stroll around the KP in midfield on Monday while we self destruct in front of Spurs. -
Even worse, someone misheard one of Leverkusen's German staff talking about it. Q: Is the deal close? What percentage are we talking complete? A: Nein! 0.2 percent at best.

They do hold their value, but some games are more so than others. Smash bros and majora's mask are probably the most expensive big releases, stuff like lylat wars, wave race etc is the cheaper end. Old football games tend to be the cheapest third party games. If you are after just one cart, and don't mind getting loose carts, then cex is probably the cheapest option - you can at least check the stock in local branches on the website, and the prices are standard, so if a local cex doesn't have what you want, you can at least see how much they charge elsewhere so you don't end up overpaying. eBay tends to be more (and on N64 carts you are likely to end up paying a couple of quid postage too) - use pricecharting.com to get a feeling for how much stuff normally sells for (just make sure to click on the PAL version when searching) @CountesthorpeFox1 had a quick look on CEX website - Gallowtree gate store has loose Goldeneye for £6. Looks like they have Mario 64 and Mario Kart 64 in stock as well atm. https://uk.webuy.com/search?productLineId=18&productLineName=Retro+Gaming&stores=Leicester+Gallowtree+Gate&categoryFriendlyName=Nintendo+64+Software

Definitely one of the most fun shops to visit in town. I came across it the first time whilst doing desperate Christmas shopping to find a present for my Mum. An exciting find but a very unnecessary distraction from the aim of the trip at the time though
