I'm not convinced they were ever interested. If you want a player the deal will happen pretty quickly. It's been weeks of "negotiations" but it's not like a middle east peace deal. One side makes an offer, the other rejects/accepts. That sort of thing - with modern comms - should take minutes or maybe hours. All this transfer gossip column rubbish about preparing bids and lining up an offer is just word salad.
