Not really, dont think anyone's bracketed him in that way but Alves aside we've had very little coming through the academy since Barnes. The potential of being another Heskey or Joachim is exciting enough.
-
This is the sort of player we used to laugh at other clubs for buying. Genuinely, whole-heartedly, just no.
-
The lack of self-awareness is staggering.
-
I'll stick a fiver at Ladbrokes right now he never makes 50 appearances for them. There will always be £40m signings ahead of him.
-
Stay at Leicester and be the next Joachim, Heskey, Barnes, Chilwell etc. Play regularly and get a big money move as you hit your peak..... .......OR......... ........be the next Trey Nyoni and play twice a season in the league cup.
-
Thats not 100% true though. Like Abdul he was benched and out of favour, barely played for 2 months and when he finally gets some minutes he breaks down. Poor man management.
-
His best season for fitness was under Maresca. No surprise this was in a season where he wasnt expected to bomb up and down a wing for 90 mins and just defend & knit things together. I'd take a restricted Ricky over a fully fit Justin.

Perhaps a memorial video played before every home game where we clap wildly remembering when our club wasnt a nightmare of new daily sshhiittshows?

The 25 / 26 players that will be out of Contract
iancognito replied to Sly's topic in Leicester City Forum
I've hoped that for the past two summers. Daka is the Danny Ward of strikers and Soumare is the Danny Ward of midfielders. People don't buy duds on massive wages and duds on massive wages don't take pay cuts. -

Leicester City are in dreamland now!

Keegan had spent 40 mins creaming himself over their defence and just piped down for the rest of the game after that. -
Not even sure we can say he's grown up. He had those missed training sessions under Rodgers along with Chilwell and being left out the team for 3 months afterwards would normally wobble your head but there were more rumours of him having other disciplinary problems after that. Just when you think he's getting married, having kids and settling down he's caught DUI and gets a driving ban. He'll do his bit in the dead men division for us but we can't be renewing his contract again. He doesn't have the positional awareness or the quality to go any higher and with so many centre mids and RBs already here he's worth whatever we get for him.

Quite literally. 🎵 Those were the days my friend...... -
Not sure about irrational but I think that the dog thing has been overdone, it wasn't even this season. It's one of those stories that gets leaked when there's disharmony in the club and unhappy players. Would never have come out in the Championship season when he was getting called Vester-goat and we're 12 pts clear in the league. No-one was calling out his attitude back then either. As for the rest, he's symbolic of how and why this club has spiralled in just 5 years. A 3yr deal for a player of his limited pace and value when we have have half a dozen other CBs here was ridiculous. When you're as skint as we are you dont waste your wage bill on ageing CBs. You offer that to the likes of Nelson who will be the future of the club.
-
He'll end up at Leeds or Fulham, somewhere like that. He won't want to hang around in the stiffs another year, it's a short career.
-
Anyone expecting an imminent announcement will be disappointed. Remember after the last relegation it took 2 weeks to get rid of Dean Smith. It was 16th June by the time they announced his departure. They've learnt nothing. They plan nothing. They're not even self aware enough to realise how utterly disorganised this sh--show all looks.
-
Yeah I want to apologise for my part in this too. Rarely been this wrong about a player since I thought Alan Maybury could "do a job" for us.

The end of all those Okoli Dokily fantasy teams.

Vardy, Ward and Iversen to leave at the end of the month.

No way Leeds go with Meslier AND Ward. Double Jeopardy. -

Raikhy one of the few to get a senior outing but not progress in recent times. Not getting ANY fee for Iversen last summer was another on the list of Rudkin fails. The TWELVE MILLION we paid for Ward is nudging the free transfers giveaways towards £250m. -
What type of football do people want to watch?
iancognito replied to Sly's topic in Leicester City Forum
It's not a style, it's a belief. Ricky P referenced it on his socials today. It's first sesson Little, second season O'Neill, promotion season Pearson, 2019 Rodgers......players completely in tune with the managers, playing as underdogs and scrapping for every ball. Realising they're not top players but by executing a gameplan they can beat anyone. A style is what finishes managers. If plan A fails, chuck Ian Marshall on and get some crosses in. Iwan Roberts up top not working ? Get Speedie or Joachim on. Overlapping full backs, a CB getting an actual header on a well delivered, well rehearsed corner routine. I can cope with 80% possession if we have a bloody shot. I can even cope with Dycheball if the full back puts the winger into the front row. What I don't want is pathetic, heads down, beaten in the tunnel, surrender by players who think their gameplan is better than the new manager, pining for the old manager who fcked off and left them behind. -
We're the side that can buy Ndidi as a relative unknown for 15m give him 7 years of top flight experience across the midfield and make him a cup winner and still manage to sell him for 6m less than we paid. That's the Leicester we know.
