Transfers in the world of FFP - where do we make money?
ThorpeAstleyFox replied to Sly's topic in Leicester City Forum
Whilst this will certainly help in the long term (so should be done, regardless), it will not help to reduce our losses for the current accounting period. -
A few posters are being harsh on his potential here. He was Player of the Tournament and Top Scorer in the U-20 World Cup for Italy. He is simply just young and still learning. I predict that he will go on to have a great career (possibly in Europe) and make at least 20 appearances for Italy.

Is that because he is English? 🤣😂🤣

Ipswich (A) 1 - 1 - Boxing Day - Post-Match Thread

I'd much rather have the odd 'dodgy' decision (which go both ways over the course of a season) than have VAR suck the passion out of watching a game.- 623 replies

When You're Smiling before kick off.
ThorpeAstleyFox replied to Ashley's topic in Leicester City Forum
We really should get the "Leicester City" version back in yhe song book. The whole world smiles with you (ahhh with flash hands) x2 The. Whole. World. Smiles. With. Yooouuuuuu!!! (with jazz hands) The Leicester! (clap, clap clap) x3 -
Rest as many of the 11 who we intend to start next weekend. With the injury to Doyle, I would not be risking Justin in this game. Coady, Nelson and Soutter would all start at the back for me. Choudhary in the Winks role, with Casadei and Yunus in front of him in midfield. Marçal and Albrighton on the wings with Iheanacho up front. Thus still leaves us one player short at the back, but I'd be happy to give another u23 player a run out as well as having a couple more on the bench.

Seven Players Confirmed to Depart Leicester City
ThorpeAstleyFox replied to lcfc_forever's topic in Leicester City Forum
£20m+ per year off the wage bill. Personally, I hope that Evans agrees some form of pay-as-you-play deal. You can say what you like about him, but he always makes his partner (Soyuncu, Fofana, etc) look like a world-class centre back when he plays. -
My first game was in 1987 (1-0 win versus Charlton) and I've been to more games than I've missed since then and been a season ticket holder since the move to Filbert Way. I started watching us from the terrace at the front of the Family Stand (pre-Carling Stans) and, watching Tommy Wright marauding down the wing, I found my first footballing hero. I wasn't from a footballing family (my Dad took me to my first game, but I was on my own from then on) but, from the age of around 12, I could afford to go with other kids from my estate (Beaumont Leys) as tickets were £2.50, and I could afford that from my paper round money. As I became older, I moved over to the Kop, and eventually settled in the 'crazy corner' next to the away fans. The club have made a lot of decisions down the years which have made the atmosphere more sterile, or 'family friendly' as they prefer to call it. Goal music; clappers; t-shirt cannons; etc. have all contributed to this. When we moved to Filbert Way, I purchased a season ticket in SK2, which, in the club's literature, was branded as 'the new Kop'. I know that we often joke about swapping over the Kop and the Faily Stand, but the decision to position 'the new Kop' away from the away fans seriously impacted on the atmosphere when we moved. The single biggest issue, in my opinion, is that watching live football is no longer for the working class. There is no way now that a teenager could afford to follow LCFC just using their paper round money. When we sold our soul at the birth of the Premier League football lost both its roots and identity. The game is now awash with money, the majority of which does not come from match-going supporters. Supporters now are simply customers to be exploited - and the more money you have, the more they can extort from you. I would much prefer for the money to dissappear and we go back to watching the likes of Paul Fitzpatrick and when Neville Southall was considered an athlete. I'd happily accept not being 'the best league in the World' if we could get our footballing identity back. Unfortunately, I am now a dinosaur and there is no way to put the genie back in the bottle. Sorry for the rant. As you were.

We normally know in advance which games we can't make so just hand over the ticket at the previous match. What am I missing here? My understanding is that the digital ticket is inextricably linked to your mobile phone. How do you easily pass that on to someone else?
-
Genuine question, how? I was under the impression that you mobile basically acted the same way as the card.

Myself and 5 friends have had season tickets together since we moved to the new stadium. We all have kids ranging from 11-15 years old. When one of us can't go, which is the majority of games to be honest, we always just offer the ticket around and one of us 'treats' one of our kids. The change to e-tickets next season makes this almost impossible. We were debating whether to renew or not even when we were convinced we would stay up for this reason alone.

The biggest issue for me is the lack of leadership and fight on the pitch. We have 3 home games against relegation rivals and we must approach these with a positive mentality (two up front; Maddison as a 10; high press; fast in our transitions; attacking full backs). If we win these 3 games then I believe that we will stay up - but, based on the Bournemouth performance, I just can't see this happening. Iheanacho must start with either Daka or Barnes to partner him. Controversially, I believe that N'didi can still be a key player at the base of a diamond. He needs to be told to keep it simple and protect the defence. This allows for our full backs to push up and provide the width when we attack. I'd play (4-1-2-1-2): Iversen Kristiansen Fees Evans Pereira N'didi Tielemans Mendy Maddison Daka Iheanacho Manager: Benitez

Can ANYONE that this has happened to actually come forward? If not, then I'm calling BS.

How can we help Top come to his senses?
ThorpeAstleyFox replied to Foxxed's topic in Leicester City Forum
We should have a Rodgers in/out poll after every game and as many new topics as possible about it on the forums. -
Agree with the above assessment and would add that a Daka-Iheanacho partnership would work well in that system.
-
Julian Joachim scoring a great solo goal against Portsmouth in the play-off semi-final at the City Ground (we had to start building work on the Carling Stand so that it would be ready for the following season).
-
Having played both Brentford and Southampton at home we should definitely have picked up more points from the opening 4 games. I never pay attention to yhe league table until 12 games in as many sides take time to settle into their rhythm and it us massively skewed at this point by the teams that you have played. I do believe that we will finish mid-table however our poor start to the season is concerning.

They actually do not need to comply. It is a Recommended Retail Price. I purchased an "85p" labelled can of coke yesterday for £1.20!

I actually feel for the guy a bit. He is a very useful squad player. Unfortunately he was brought in to be in the starting 11 for a fee that, at the time, was a lot for us to spend. He has made some good contributions over the years but has never taken advantage when given an opportunity in the starting line-up. The biggest issue that any right-winger will have here is that they are not Mahrez.
-
One was World-class and the other is average 🤷♂️
-
£80m and no loyalty pay-off is fine by me. I believe that he is a top-class centre-back but this is a position on the pitch where the difference between top-class and very good is not that great.

LCFC vs Southampton - Pre-Match Thread
ThorpeAstleyFox replied to StanSP's topic in Leicester City Forum
Based on the original prognosis (6 weeks) he is still around a month away from returning to training yet alone being match-fit.
