  1. Daka can press, it's scoring that's his problem.
  2. Well fally my lulu!
  3. Their customer service is awful.
  4. He's quite debonair
  5. Frustrating, isn't it? Too rare appearances.
  6. Why did I read this in Brian Blessed's voice?
  7. I'd prefer Chateau Saul.
  8. The paramedics, both off duty and in the ambulance were absolutely fantastic. My experience once I reached LRI, less so
  9. Just as an update to this, I've broken my humerus, no dislocation. Basically means 6-12 weeks in a sling (left arm fortunately) and my left eye has the biggest shiner I've ever seen! Thanks for all the messages people 😊
  10. Shinji then
  11. They did. I was too busy staring at the sky.
  12. The white van driver who ran me off the road when I was cycling home, leaving me with a gashed eye, dislocated shoulder, possible broken bones (still in hospital waiting for x-ray results) several grazes and mangled glasses. Oh, and thanks for stopping buddy! (For clarity, they didn't - but thanks to the two off duty paramedics, off duty policeman, doctor and other passersby who did while the ambulance was on the way).
  13. It's the accumulation of stuff. As you get older you accumulate things (money/property) you never had in your youth and right wing politics is very much about maintaining wealth, and left wing about apportioning it. Both ideologies get abused though. More often than not.
  14. Indeed, a lot of weirdos do slash people.
  15. Wayland-Yutani and Tyrell Corp are amalgamous. Watched the first two episodes, here's a few thoughts... Hyper intelligent people in sci-fi will only ever be as intelligent as the writer, fact. It's a very tricky path to trade. Not only, but also ... I does fall into the old horror trope of supposedly intelligent people doing really stupid things in order to create tension. I think the acting is good though and the story is intriguing, if sometimes a little obvious. Two things I did like. First (and this follows from some of the other Alien films) if you're paying attention, you can spot the alien, it doesn't just appear out of nowhere (as many monster movies/shows do). Second, the Maginot. I'm pretty sure this is deliberate in its irony. The Maginot Line was considered the ultimate defence of it's time, a peak of invention and ingenuity, and yet it was completely disaster. Genius, if deliberate. Last thing and I don't know how to hide spoilers so look away unless you've seen episode 1, though you'll probably have seen this in the trailers though.... The Maginot's crash, which apparently took them all by surprise. Even with today's technology we'd know exactly where it was going to hit, probably days in advance. I've no idea why they did it as they did.
  16. This! Izzy's a wise old coot @FoxesDeb, such a good poster, he knows of what he speaks. Unless it's the jokes thread. 100% Keep reminding yourself this.
  17. Yes, but one of those that might fall out of usage ones. Rarely hear young people say it and it wouldn't surprise me if some had no idea what it means.
  18. "And now for your Leicester City team! In goal, Jim Zoff! At left back, Robert Carlos! Right back, Barry Vogts! Central defensive pairing... Fred Baresi and Don Passerella! On the left wing ... Chris Ronaldo! And on the right... Gary Rincha! In central midfield we have... Mick Platini and Doug Maradona! With today's forwards being... John Cruyff! And Kevin-Henry Rumminige!
  19. People rarely riot in a foot of snow. Not that we get that anymore. Cue @leicsmac
  20. More Mary Whitehouse Experience
  21. I'd argue 40 left, 40 right, with 20% in the middle being called right by the left and left by the right.
  22. Unless they roll a crit!
  23. Peanut butter and honey in a plain rice cake sandwich 😋
