  1. Ideally shouldn't ever play for us again. Once the fans turn on a player whilst actually on the pitch there's no way back really. I don't like fans booing their own players it doesn't do any good in the long run and affects the team as a whole.
  2. He's Director of Football. He has overall responsibility for the football side of the club. The quality of the squad is ultimately his remit. He should have been sacked when we were relegated as that was a failure that was on his desk so to speak. I've no idea in regards to his likeability or not and frankly don't see that as relevant. He's either good at his job or not and right now I'd say the coin doesn't come down in his favour. Whelan has other questions to answer but she's not as directly responsible for the playing side.
  3. Pretty much how I see it sadly. Any manager appointment is a gamble but this feels like a huge one. I don't understand why there is no team with him for starters. We need a defence coach asap. It all starts from there if we can't keep the goals out we are going down and going down quickly.
  4. Completely agree. For me the defence is absolutely the key area. We need to stop conceding so many goals at least then we have the chance to get a draw now and then. We also need to team to show some fight quite frankly. Too many abject half hearted performances today. We can carry 1 or 2 passengers but right now we're carrying 7 or 8. We're not down yet but it looks pretty bleak.
  5. Definitely not as he won't be here when we are relegated.
  6. So would a one-legged camel though.
  7. Absolutely zero chance.
  8. Just embarrassing really. The recruitment has just been terrible. Good players sold and utter dross brought in. We need to sort out the defence in January or we have zero chance of staying up. new right back is priority number one for me.
  9. Pretty much how the supporters feel too!
  10. Just a reflection on how poor our squad is in reality. A few injuries to our key better players just exposes the dross that makes up half our squad. We need 4 players to improve the starting XI in January or we have no chance of staying up.
  11. You will definitely score more than1.
  12. I know you are a passionate fan and poster but we really don't need relegation. Relegation is likely to set the club back a decade or more this time as we will struggle to get back up and probably face a hefty points deduction. Could actually take a long long time to get back to the top league again. The board new new faces without doubt and maybe new ownership but very much a case of be careful what you wish for there. As for Rvn, it is far too early to judge.
  13. Another simply not good enough I'm afraid.
  14. It isn't an unreasonable comparison but he's not anywhere near as good as Savage was. He's simply not up to the standard we need now or in the future even if we are relegated.
  15. Completely agree. I suspect we will need around another 21-22 points to stay up so around 6 or 7 wins plus some draws. I think this is must win in reality as I can't see us winning many more than 6 or 7 and I think this needs to be one of them. The Newcastle game was an embarrassment though and will have knocked confidence a lot. What it must have shown Ruud is how thin and poor our squad is. Simply have to get 3 points here as we will lose the following three by big margins.
  16. Pretty much a need to win game but can't see it. Until the defence is sorted out we're going to get very few points. It may be boring but we need to start defending properly before we try to play exciting expansive football which we probably aren't capable of in any case. Somehow need to not be cut adrift come January when we will need at least 4 players if we are to have a chance of surviving.
  17. Shocked really but it was clear it wasn't really working nor likely to either. Absolutely key the next appointment is right. Will they go for proven experience or gamble on someone a bit more dynamic but relatively unproven. Not an easy decision. Whoever it is must quickly get the player's respect and sort out the defence. At least make us hard to beat. Whoever they appoint will need some money to reinforce the squad in January.
  18. 5 wins in his last 29 matches as a manager in the Premier League, admittedly with two clubs, but says it all really. That's not too far off a complete season. 0.82 points per game, a total which is quickly getting worse match by match.
  19. Hard to see anything but another defeat and poor performance. Even a 5-0 defeat would not be enough to see the back of Cooper though.
  20. Not really that thrilling at the moment is it and we look nailed on to go down.
  21. Quite clear that 1 The manager isn't good enough 2 The squad isn't good enough either. 3 The board are clueless and recruitment has been pretty poor once again. We're in a mess and we can get rid of Cooper but frankly I don't think anyone keeps this lot up. There are just too many weak players who are not of the required standard especially in defence.
  22. He's not good enough to keep us in this division. Will be ok in the Championship though.
  23. Not worth what we paid for him I'm afraid.
  24. I really don't think he's going to be sacked at the moment. Not saying that is the correct thing but we are not cut off at the bottom and a narrow, on paper, loss to Chelsea isn't going to see the board move against him. Personally I think he will be here until Christmas. If by then we are in the bottom 3 and looking like there is no hope I think he will go as we won't want to give him the January transfer window which will be absolutely key to any chance of survival we may have. This isn't my opinion, I'd sooner he went now, just where I think we are.
  25. The very least I would expect from a manager is that they make us hard to beat. Maybe not entertaining to watch but we need to at least make sides work hard to score against us. Completely the opposite at the moment. Personally I don't think our squad is anywhere near good enough over the course of a full season but we could at least look organised and have a plan. He's just out of his depth but for all the posts on here he's not going anywhere. It is tight at the bottom and we're not cut off just yet so he'll doubtless get some more time rightly or wrongly. Wrongly in my opinion. Fans need to be seen to turn on him at home for the board to even contemplate a replacement. Will that happen? Unlikely I'd say.
